Chapter 178 - [179] Menstrual Period

"Tsuna, wake up, Teacher Fujiro is almost here."

"Hmm..." Tsuna looked up and replied softly, rubbing his drowsy eyes as he looked towards the classroom door.

Seeing that he was awake, Shouko withdrew the hand that was shaking him and turned back to chat with Takagi during the free time before Teacher Fujiro arrived.

After a while, Tsuna watched Teacher Fujiro walk into the classroom from the hallway, holding a textbook. As she entered, she made eye contact with him, but quickly lost sight of him.

"Pa pa."

Teacher Fujiro walked to the podium and saw that a few students hadn't noticed her arrival. She decisively raised her hand and patted the blackboard behind her.

After everyone's eyes fell on her, she said seriously, "I can hear our class chatting in the corridor outside! Other classes are quietly waiting for the teacher to arrive, but you guys are making so much noise!"

"Bang bang!"

As she finished speaking, she suddenly raised her hand and patted the podium table to help the listless students below perk up.

Seeing that Teacher Fujiro was already so angry so early in the morning, Tsuna realized she wouldn't stop talking for at least five or six minutes.

Just as he'd expected, Teacher Fujiro launched into a lecture on nonsense literature.

Just when he thought she was almost done, two voices, neither loud nor soft, but loud enough for all the students to hear, suddenly erupted from the quiet classroom.

"I wonder if Teacher Fujiro has hit menopause early..."

"Or maybe it's delayed..."

Suddenly, everyone in the room, except for Shouko, focused their attention on the two people speaking.

Seeing Tsuna looking over, Shouko curiously followed his gaze.

Tsuna briefly glanced at the two brave people before returning to Fujiro at the podium.

Her expression was indeed grim; he imagined he'd be able to see the vein throbbing in her forehead if he'd been sitting in the front row.

Fujiro didn't say anything about them, but her lecture on nonsense literature, which should have ended long ago, dragged on for another ten minutes.

As the bell rang, the two people who had just complained were called to the teacher's office by Teacher Fujiro.

And Tsuna took advantage of the ten-minute break between classes and quickly lay down on the table to catch up on his sleep.

This dull and boring, and dull campus life has begun again, but it does not affect him from catching up on his sleep.

————————

"Tsuna, you should get up. It's past ten o'clock! Did you stay up late again yesterday?" Standing beside Tsuna's bed, Shouko kept shaking someone who was still sleeping.

"Wake up, wake up, don't shake me anymore, Shouko." Tsuna, who was forcibly awakened from his sleep, grabbed her funny hands.

Shouko gently pulled away from his hand, her hands on her hips. "You said goodnight to me yesterday on the phone, and now you're staying up all night again. What's up? Are you tired of chatting with me?"

He rubbed his bleary eyes, his tone still hinting at the sleepiness of someone who hadn't gotten enough sleep. "I couldn't sleep, so I got up to review my lessons for the first half of the semester. Do you believe me?"

"Do you think I'd believe that?" Shouko rolled her eyes. "Okay, get changed quickly. I'll meet you downstairs."

With that, Shouko went downstairs, closing the door behind him.

Tsuna watched the door close before he looked away. He slowly picked up the clothes on the bedside table and began to change.

He hadn't realized how quickly time had flown. In the blink of an eye, the last semester was over, and exams were tomorrow.

In Japan, junior high school semesters are divided into three periods, usually starting in April and ending in mid-July.

April marks the beginning of the new school year in Japan, and new students typically enter junior high school with great anticipation.

During the first semester, academic life gradually unfolds.

Teaching in each subject proceeded as planned. For example, the Japanese language curriculum focused on developing students' reading, writing, and communication skills, from basic vocabulary to paragraph comprehension; mathematics began with simple algebra and geometry concepts, and so on...

The second semester began in September and ended in late December. As for the teaching plan...

Sorry, he hadn't started yet, and he wasn't sure how to summarize it in one sentence, haha...

As for the final semester, it would begin in January of the following year and end in March.

The three holidays were divided into "spring, summer, and winter," with summer being the longest, and spring lasting only about two weeks.

"Click..."

The door was flung open halfway, and Shouko's head popped in from outside. "Tsuna! You didn't fall asleep again, did you?"

Tsuna, who had just been halfway through removing his pajamas, suddenly stopped and looked at her speechlessly.

"Go on!"

"Bang!"

Tsuna silently resumed his movements. Shouko's condition had been fluctuating for some reason these days.

He suspected she was about to have her first period, but he had no specific information. He checked on his phone, but there were all sorts of theories.

Some said it was normal for menstruation, but others said it wasn't.

"Good morning, Aunt Nishimiya."

Tsuna hurriedly changed into casual clothes and headed downstairs. He immediately noticed Shouko's mother sitting at the dining table chatting with his elderly mother and quickly greeted her.

Without waiting for a response, he went into the bathroom.

After this semester, he was certain Aunt Nishimiya had nothing to do with the incident.

As for why she was with Nishimiya Suneo at the time, he had no idea.

After washing up and quickly finishing breakfast, someone returned to the living room to accompany Shouko.

After confirming that his mother and Aunt Nishimiya were in the dining room and had no plans to return to the living room, Tsuna walked over to the coffee table, sat down, and launched into a bombshell:

"Shouko, are you about to get your period?"

"Tsuna, you're a pervert..." Shouko shyly grabbed a pillow from the sofa and threw it at him.

In her first few days of junior high, Aunt Miyamura had explained to her what menarche meant.

She had even explained that bleeding and other such things were normal.

All girls experience menstruation, so there's no need to worry too much. Just avoid raw, cold, and spicy foods, get enough sleep, and reduce strenuous exercise.

Menarche, a girl's first period, usually occurs around 13-14 years old.

The body sends signals before menarche, such as renewed development in two specific areas.

She's been experiencing pain these past few days...

Aunt Miyamura said some girls may experience a small amount of brown or pink discharge one or two days before menarche. There's also increased vaginal discharge. Six months to a year before menarche, the discharge (leucorrhea) increases, becoming clear or milky white with no noticeable odor. This is a normal physiological phenomenon.

There's also hair growth in certain areas.

She has some recollection of the first two, but the last one...

She looked carefully in the mirror before showering last night, but there were no signs of growth.

She's still debating whether to ask her mother or Aunt Miyamura what's going on... It just so happens that her mother is off today...
