Chapter 12 - Chapter 11: The ANBU

Uchiha Han was sent flying, blood trickling from the corner of his mouth!

This was the price of daring to underestimate Yuya's shock force, trying to go head-to-head with him in hand-to-hand combat.

Not even a Chūnin could pull that off!

"This is impossible! Impossible!! What... what the hell is this power?!"

Han was horrified, trying to land smoothly, but his body had been blasted by the shockwave so hard that he went numb all over—he couldn't even stay on his feet.

Thud!

He crashed to the ground in an utter mess, his whole body still trembling violently.

The scene went completely silent.

Then the crowd started murmuring, and it quickly turned into a noisy uproar.

What in the actual hell?!

A Chūnin from the Uchiha clan just got punched across the street—and injured—by a kid who was obviously still a child?!

How was that even possible?!

"Am I dreaming right now?"

"The Uchiha... shouldn't be this weak, right?!"

"He couldn't even beat a kid. And what kind of power was that just now?!"

Everyone stared in disbelief at Uchiha Han, who had crashed into the ground, and at Yuya, who calmly retracted his fist like nothing had happened.

It was just beyond comprehension.

If Han had been the one to punch Yuya across the square, it'd make perfect sense. But the reverse? That was nuts.

Han just lay there, dumbfounded.

He still hadn't processed the fact that he'd been sent flying by a single punch from Yuya.

And when he finally did, surrounded by all those judging stares, he completely lost it.

"Damn it... damn it, you little bastard, how dare you..."

Getting sent flying by some punk kid—and coughing up blood?

It was the ultimate humiliation. He might never be able to show his face in the Uchiha clan again. People would be mocking him for the rest of his life.

Consumed by rage, Han's expression turned murderous.

He hadn't planned to kill Yuya at first.

But now? He was going to end this damn brat.

Blinded by fury, Han struck out again—but this time, he wasn't using taijutsu. He formed hand seals at lightning speed, unleashing a full-on ninjutsu attack.

He was ready to kill, and didn't care one bit that they were in the middle of Konoha's main street.

"Fire Style! Fire Dragon Flame Bullet!!"

Right out the gate, he used a B-rank Fire Style jutsu!

This wasn't some ordinary Fireball. The terrifying flames condensed into a massive, clearly visible dragon—a searing inferno rushing straight toward Yuya like it was about to incinerate the world.

The ground beneath it even looked scorched and cracked from the heat.

"This is bad!"

"Is he crazy?! Using something like that in public?!"

The surrounding crowd panicked and scattered. Most were ninja, so they were fast enough to dodge easily.

Yuya sucked in a breath when he saw the fire dragon bearing down on him.

There was no way he could block a jutsu of this level. He couldn't even dodge it in time.

If Han had started the fight with something like this instead of screwing around, Yuya probably would've been taken out in seconds.

But even now, faced with a roaring Fire Style attack, Yuya showed no fear. His face was calm as his eyes flicked around.

Alright, time to step in—any minute now...

Whoosh!!

Sure enough, in the next instant, a black shadow flickered into view in front of Yuya. The figure's hands flashed through seals, facing the incoming fire.

Water Style! Water Formation Wall!!

Whooosh—

A massive wave surged up, forming a towering wall like a fortress.

The fire dragon slammed into the wall of water, hissing and screeching as steam exploded into the air, creating a dense cloud of mist. The flames vanished as if they'd plunged into the ocean.

The water dispersed just as quickly, fading away.

"Uchiha Han! Engaging in private combat within Konoha—you know that's a crime, right?" came a cold voice.

Standing in front of Yuya was none other than a masked ANBU!

『ANBU, short for Assassination and Tactical Squad, report directly to the Hokage. No one else can command them.』

They weren't just tasked with black-ops missions outside the village—they also handled Konoha's internal security.

They were the real elite, even outranking the Uchiha Police Force.

Using something like Fire Dragon Flame Bullet in the middle of Konoha—even if it wasn't aimed directly at Yuya—was completely unacceptable.

Seeing the ANBU appear, Han's killing intent still burned hot, but he had no choice but to shove it down. Even he didn't dare act out in front of ANBU.

"What crime have I committed?"

"Fighting within the village is strictly forbidden," the ANBU replied coldly, staring him down.

Han's fury simmered beneath the surface, but he forced himself to play it cool. With a sharp glare at Yuya, he sneered, "I'm one of the squad captains of the Konoha Police Force. I received a report that Yuya might be connected to enemy scouts from another village. I was just trying to bring him in for questioning."

What?!

The whole crowd froze for a moment.

Yuya mentally cursed. What a load of crap.

No wonder this guy had attacked him so brazenly in the middle of the street—he'd already come up with a convenient excuse. The Konoha Police Force was basically the Uchiha's private army anyway.

He was clearly abusing his position.

The onlookers frowned in disgust, but no one dared to speak up directly against the Uchiha.

That was just how they operated—pure bullying.

The ANBU's tone was still icy. "Do you have any evidence?"

"This doesn't concern ANBU, does it?" Han shot back, his anger held in check.

The face beneath the mask darkened.

"If you want to detain someone, you'll need the Hokage's direct permission," the ANBU retorted.

In truth, both Danzo's Root and Hiruzen's ANBU often used every excuse to keep tabs on the Uchiha clan.

This particular ANBU had been assigned by Hiruzen Sarutobi specifically to monitor the Uchihas.

A kid like Yuya, with no backing and originally from outside the village, wasn't someone ANBU normally protected.

This wasn't about Yuya—it was about keeping the Uchiha in check.

The crowd knew this too. They'd seen plenty of standoffs between ANBU and the Uchiha Police Force before.

Han coldly smirked. "This is a matter of urgency. What if Yuya is a spy, and we're too late to catch him?"

Now that he'd invoked the Police Force, he was speaking on behalf of the Uchiha. Even against ANBU, he stood his ground.

The ANBU scowled, but there was no way he'd let Han get away with it.

"No. Something's off here. This needs to be decided by the Hokage personally."
