As I arrived in the class, the class was buzzing with slight chatter that was unusual for class A.
Well, it was to be expected. We received 94,000 points this month.
Most of them were relieved that they didn't spend that many points previous month.
According to the chat from Ichinose, she has received 67,000 points this month. So class B is standing at 670 points.
From Hiyori Shiina, I got to know that she received 50,000 points today, meaning class C is standing at 500 points.
And well, I didn't really contact anyone from class D.
So the current standing is:
Class A: 940
Class B: 670
Class C: 500
Class D: 0
Mashima-sensei arrived, and started explaining things.
The points were as I expected. And in the surprise test that happened last week, Smug Loli placed first with 100 marks. Katsuragi and I were tied for the second place at 90.
After he was done, I raised my hand.
"Mashima-sensei, can I use your class's time for discussing something with the class? Would that decrease our points?"
"Alright. And no, no points will be decreased for that as long as you all are disciplined."
I went to the podium, and started saying what I want to say.
"So, as I had suspected, this school is made by people who waste money, and now I am 100% sure that there will be class battles.
Be it tests, sports festival, cultural festival, or any other extra-curricular activities.
And since this whole farce is anime-inspired, I am 100% sure that sports and cultural festivals will have a large portion of class points that can be earned, or deducted.
So, I am suggesting that we should start training physically, seriously from right now instead of loosing when it matters. From what I have gathered, we are the worst class physically.
Those who are members of a sports club, fine. But for the rest, I am going to organise a camp everyday except when we have PE. I am going to teach you yoga and parade. Those who are interested can tell that they are interested in the group chat."
I glanced around, and then said, "I guess we need to have class monitors as well. Since Mashima-sensei didn't appoint them, the school probably wants us to make our decisions.
Whoever is interested, please raise your hands."
Not many people raised their hands. A total of four did. Sakayanagi, Katsuragi, Honda and for some reason, Morishita.
Sakayanagi asked me, "Are you not interested in becoming the monitor, Horikita-san?"
I shook my head.
"Honestly, no. Anyway, since there are four candidates, let's hold an election tomorrow. Whoever wins becomes the Class Monitor, and the person in second place becomes Vice Monitor."
Morishita firmly objected my proposal.
"Horikita-san, what motives do you have? Normally, it's always a boy and a girl monitor."
"Well, because this school is a different kind. We would want the representatives who actually have the most reach. Gender shouldn't be a defining factor."
"You are woke!"
She shouted at me, and then sat down on her seat. She even showed me her tongue.
What a weirdo. Who still does that?
"Anyway, what does everyone want? One male and female, or just a monitor and a vice monitor? For the first option, raise your hand."
5 people raised their hands.
"Second option, raise your hand."
13 people raised their hands. Morishita raised her hand in both options.
I really should just start ignoring that weirdo.
The rest didn't have any opinions on this matter.
"Then we will go with the second option. The candidates have a day worth of time to gather as many votes as they can and familiarise themselves with everyone during the process.
That's all I wanted to say. Thank you."
And then, I went back to my seat.
Alright, with this, I have made myself an important figure in the class, and the responsibilities will be with others.
And since I won't be the class monitor myself, I will be able to gather more votes from other classes for Student Council President elections.
Homeroom came to end after a while, and after some classes, break came.
I headed to the Student Council as every candidate that applied was called for an interview while having lunch.
"Pretty strange huh?"
Katsuragi muttered beside me.
"Yeah."
"Horikita-san! Katsuragi-kun!"
Ichinose catched up to us.
"Ichinose-san."
Katsuragi greeted her.
I also waved at her.
"I thought that something was suspicious, but I didn't realise that the school had such a system. Will someone from Class B even allowed on Student Council?"
I thought about it, and said, "Well, when I become the Student Council President, I would really like to have you in it. Just to be safe, keep an eye out for the Vice President Nagumo.
He is very shady and has been blackmailing a lot of Second Years. To become the president this year, he will surely blackmail his juniors.
Because I think you are the type who would end up handing him some stuff unknowingly."
"Eh!? Really!?"
I nodded as Katsuragi raised his eyebrow at that information.
"Thanks for informing me, Horikita-san!"
"Well, it's not for free. How about becoming my secretary and helping in my campaign for the election this year?"
"Umm..."
"Just think about it. You are free to decline though. I just don't want Nagumo to get his influence on Class B."
"Hmm. I will think about it, Horikita-san."
I nodded.
Honestly, I don't like talking that much. So having Ichinose become my secretary will be really good. Especially if I condition her into sticking to my side and eventually convince her to enter politics.
But I need to be patient for that.
We finally reached the Student Council, and Akane opened the door.
"Yo, Akane-senpai."
"Welcome to the student council, Suzune-san, Katsuragi-san and Ichinose-san."
By the way, I am already on first name basis with my future sis-in-law.
I peeked over her small stature, and saw Nagumo and Kiriyama sitting with their lunch.
"Hi everyone!"
Nagumo stood up to welcome us.
And on the other hand, brother was just sitting on his main seat, trying to act all mysterious.
Dude. It's just student council of high school. Stop embarrassing me.
