Simon fell helplessly on the ground. His eyes were widely opened at the final moment. He wasn't able to do a single thing. At the end of the day, it seemed he would be the one to watch his sister die.
How could he fail this shamefully? He forgot he was a normal human being. Right from the beginning, it was a kid walking forward to challenge a god.
If only he was an awakener. He would've been able to smash this bastard to where he belongs. He could've been able to put on a good show to allow his sister to escape. Not being an awakener was the reason his sister was going to die.
How could this world be this cruel?
'I obeyed the laws. I obey God's laws.

Tears streamed out of Simon's eyes despite being dead. Perhaps the tears had been there from the beginning.
'What have I ever done? What bad did I ever do?
Why didn't God choose me!!!'
Simon screamed out in his mind, and in that moment, a blue screen suddenly appeared in front of him.
[Power has been activated.]
[The Heroic System has been triggered]
[Host has completed the divine purpose as a hero and as such, Host has been deemed worthy of the heroic system.]
Simon was surprised to see the messages before him. He had no idea what he was seeing and he couldn't take a better look because he was dead. He wondered why he wasn't in his spirit form already, or could it be that it doesn't exist.
Simon was still thinking about it when new messages appeared on the blue screen.
[You have been chosen by God to harness this great power and become the greatest hero of all time.
Host can enjoy all the benefits of the system provided Host continues to do the work of a hero.]
Simon was confused on how to react to the message he just read from the so-called system from God.
He was practically dead and now he has chosen to become the greatest hero of all time.
What a joke!
Could this be the aftermath of his death, perhaps he was about to fall into a dream where he would live the life he always wanted, but that was bullshit.
That would be bullshit if that was really what happened after death. He doesn't want to live such a life. He wants to be alive in the current moment and save his sister from this barbarian.
Just then the villain walked past Simon and he said a few words.
"Now, how would I kill you?
I have to kill you in a way that it would make the front page of Dreamway newspapers"
Simon's expression darkened at that moment.
"Bastard!!!"
Simon screamed out in his mind. He wished he could fucking get up now and smashed the villain to the wall, but he was goddamn dead.
Just as Simon was fuming, a new message appeared on the system.
[Once Host accepts the Heroic System power, Host would be able to come back to life everytime host dies, and with every heroic death Host faces, Host would be rewarded with experience points to level up and become stronger!]
Simon was blown away when he saw the messages.
The hell was this!
Doesn't this mean he would practically become immortal the moment he accepts the system.
Simon was trying to get his head around what he was seeing when all the messages from the system varnished and a new one appeared.
The message was short and was straightforward.
[Are you willing to accept this power from God or die and go to heaven.]
[Yes or No]
Simon didn't go through it twice before he made his decision. The hell was he waiting for, his sister was about to die in front of him and he seemed to have the opportunity to come back to life to save her.
Even if it would've cost him his soul. He would've chosen to come back and save his sister.
"Yes!!!!!!"
Simon screamed out in his mind.
The system interface changed at once and several messages were following through as it did.
[Host has accepted the Heroic System.
Initiating power transfer]
[Power has been transferred.]
[Reviving time— Five seconds]
[Host would be revived back to life in five seconds]
[Five]
[Four]
[Three]
Simon's heart was pounding heavily now. His eyes moved out of the system countdown and moved to his sister.
He was damn scared that he could lose her before the countdown.
What if his sister truly dies before the five seconds countdown.
Accepting the system power wouldn't be worth it anymore, it would only become a mysterious life afterwards.
Simon's expression darkened and he screamed.
"You better not do this to me!!! Otherwise, I wouldn't forgive you!!!"
Just as Simon said those words. His whole body experienced a sudden burst of energy and with a twinkle of eyes he was back to normal, like he wasn't butchered to the ground a moment ago.
'This is real'
Simon said in his mind as he felt his whole body again. His expression darkened at once as there wasn't time to rejoice his revival.
"You are not going to touch her!!!!"
Simon screamed out as he rushed forward to the Villain. The villain was surprised by the unknown energy he felt, and turning back to see Simon had suddenly come back to life was shocking to him, given he didn't sense any spiritual energy from the kid, meaning the kid was a regular human being.
Regardless of that, the villain simply snapped his fingers towards Simon.
"Die."
The moment he said the words, dozens of blades rampaged on Simon again and Simon collapsed to the ground once more with all his body parts scattered all over the place.
"Brother!!"
Emily screamed out in her spot. Her words caused the villain to smile brightly as he turned to face her again.
"So he is your brother. I thought he was your boyfriend."
The villain cheeks raised to his eyes and he continued.
"It seems I have gotten the headlines that I have been looking for. Brother and sister died at the hand of a villain in Dreamway high school."
The villain displayed his orange teeth at Emily.
"How remarkable does that sound? I bet it would shake the whole country.
I might even be tagged as a triple threat villain after that.
There aren't many triple threat villains in the world, especially not in a scrap city like this."
The villain's cheeks covered his eyes as he continued with a demonstration with his finger.
"I might just become the first one here. I think that would be great!"
Emily got frightened by his words. She started to shiver uncontrollably on her spot and it made the villain smile even more. The villain wanted to continue when Simon screamed out again from behind.
"I am not letting you touch my sister!!"
Simon's roaring voice caused the villain's face to darken immediately.
'What the hell is this!'
The villain couldn't comprehend what was happening. He was sure he had killed Simon twice now.
How the hell was the bastard still alive.
'This can't be regeneration magic. That doesn't work when the person is dead!'
The villain forehead folded completely and he insanely turned to face Simon.
"Stay dead already!!! Bastard!"
"Crocodile Blades: 10%"
A sudden burst of energy erupted from the villain and he turned to face Simon instantly.
As the villain turned to Simon, several of his thin blades followed and Simon was ravaged to pieces. Like he exploded from the inside.
Boom!
Simon's whole body scattered around the room, adding to the already pool of blood in the premises.
Emily's heart seized at that moment. Her eyes opened wide and tears came out like a stream.
The villain calms his breathing seeing Simon was dead for sure this time.
"Now, where do we begin?"
He said as he turned to face Emily once more.
