Chapter 153 - The Cure

The rain hammered on the roofs as if warning its inhabitants of an impending doom. On the porch, a calm figure sat as he watched the rain splatter on the walls and footpaths. Deep down, the rain wasn't his concern, but the one after his heart.

"My prince," a soft voice called from behind, and he turned.

"What's wrong?" Elias asked, still getting used to the new title.

"The eldest prince demands your presence for breakfast," the maid announced as she walked away.

Elias sighed but stood up. Slowly, he walked over to the wardrobe and grabbed a white cloak. It was Rowan's, but now his scent was barely lingering. Elias held it closer and sniffed it. His heart rose with his breath, and his fingers tightened around the cloak.

"What's happening to us?" he whispered, but the coldness and emptiness of his room was all the answer he could get.
