Chapter 35 - Ancient Book

On the other side, Abhi, Swaroop, Biraj, Priyanka, Pushpita, and Smita were all sitting together at a highway dhaba, having their lunch and chatting.

Smita: I thought Aryan would join us on this trip.

Biraj: Yes, Aryan should have come. We've been having so much fun since morning.

Swaroop: Biraj, don't say that. I feel like Aryan would be disappointed not joining us.

Smita: Then why didn't he come?

Abhi: Actually, I called him last night, but he told me he's busy with some important tasks, so he couldn't come along with us.

Smita: (in a sad tone) Oh, okay.

Abhi: Smita, tell me something—why do you care so much about Aryan? Do you like him?

Smita: No...

Abhi: (teasingly) Smita, come on! Tell the truth—you're in love with Aryan, aren't you?

Smita: (quietly) Yes. But I don't know if Aryan loves me back.

Biraj: Smita, do you really like Aryan?

Smita: Yes. I've liked him since the day he saved me from Manab and his friends.

Abhi: What?! Manab did something to you? And Aryan saved you?

Smita: Actually...

Then Smita recounted the entire incident—how Manab had tried to harm her and how Aryan had intervened and even helped with the police case.

Biraj: It's good that Aryan showed up at the right time, otherwise something serious could have happened.

Abhi: Yes.

Pushpita: Abhi, call Aryan please, and ask him what he's doing right now.

Priyanka: Yes, if he's free, maybe he can join us for a movie this evening.

Abhi: Alright, I'll do that!

Abhi calls Aryan and puts the phone on speaker.

Ting... Ting... Ting...

After a few rings, Aryan picks up.

Aryan: Hello?

Abhi: Hey Aryan.

Aryan: Yes, Abhi.

Abhi: Where are you?

Aryan: I'm in Silchar right now.

Aryan: Is there something you want to say?

Abhi: Not really, actually, Smita wants to tell you something. I'm giving the phone to her.

(Abhi had kept the phone on speaker but pretended to hand it over to Smita to play a prank on Aryan.)

Smita: Hello Aryan.

Aryan: Yes, Smita. What do you want to say?

Smita: (in a shy tone) Aryan, are you free this evening? If you are, would you like to join us for a movie?

Before Aryan could respond, Kiara, who was nearby, interrupted.

Kiara: Aryan, would you like some paneer tikka?

Aryan: Yes, give me a little.

Then Aryan finally responded to Smita.

Aryan: Alright, I'll come.

But hearing a woman's voice in the background, everyone was surprised, and even Smita started feeling a bit jealous.

Smita: (in a low voice) Okay.

Seeing the change in Smita's expression, Abhi spoke up.

Abhi: Alright, we'll wait for you at GOLD CINEMA HALL.

Aryan: Okay.

Aryan then ended the call, but not before warning Kiara.

Aryan: Kiara, I think you need to learn to control your tongue.

Kiara: What happened? What did I do?

Aryan: You know, if anyone finds out that we know each other, it could bring danger to both of us... and my family too.

Kiara: Oh, sorry. But I don't think anyone heard anything.

Aryan: It's better that way.

Kiara: By the way, who called? And who was that girl?

(Being a martial artist, Kiara could easily pick up on what was being said, and she was curious.)

Aryan: They're my friends. And the girl you're talking about is Smita Bhattacharya.

Kiara: Smita... Smita...

Aryan: What's wrong?

Kiara: I think I've heard that name somewhere before.

Kris: Kiara Ma'am, isn't that the same girl who asked you if you were friends with Master Aryan?

Kiara: Yes, that's the one. She was at the fashion mall.

Aryan: Yes, Smita was at the fashion mall. But did you meet her somewhere else?

Kiara: Yeah, near the street food stall. She was asking if I knew you. But I just ignored her.

Aryan: Okay, fine. But be careful from now on.

After that, they all finished their meal and resumed their training. Aryan continued practicing his martial arts techniques. Once his practice was done, he was about to leave the villa, but before he left, Aryan handed Kiara a book.

Aryan: This book has some new moves and techniques I've written for you guys. It'll help you become even stronger.

Kiara: Alright, thanks.

Kiara: By the way, the books you mentioned earlier have arrived. Should I send them to your house?

Aryan: No, just give them to me now.

Kiara: Okay.

Kiara then signaled one of her bodyguards, and he went inside the villa and came out with five ancient books. Aryan took the books from the bodyguard.

Kiara: Aryan, are you going to carry all these on your bike?

Aryan: No, I brought Ruhit Da's car today.

Kiara: Alright. By the way, there's one book missing from the list. I couldn't find it anywhere.

Aryan: Which one?

Kiara: Sham Al-Ma'arif.

Aryan: You won't find that book.

Kiara: Why?

Aryan: Do you know what kind of book that is?

Kiara: It's an ancient book with some history behind it.

Aryan: It's a book on black magic. Only certain tribes that practice black magic have it. And they never share it with anyone else.

Kiara: It's just a book on black magic. What's the big deal? My dad and other students of Master Brahman also know black magic. They're experts in it.

Aryan: Sham Al-Ma'arif is not just any book. It's dangerous, and it's highly secretive.

Kiara: But why would you need a book on black magic?

What is special about the Sham Al-Ma'arif book?

If the other students of Master Brahman know black magic, does Aryan also know it?

Why does Aryan need the book on black magic?
