Chapter 25 - Chapter 24 : One by one (Misty)

After a few days living among the Xenos, he have to say, they are better than most of the human in Orario.

He and Kuro also got closer, well, she became more clingy, which he doesn't mind much since she's small and easy to handle.

Seem like the Xenos wanted peace with human, but the hate from both side is too much for that, he understand but doesn't care much, he's not good with emotion stuff.

It's the day that they move to a new base, and he has spend quite a long time in this dungeon, longer than most trip.

Since he rested at the base of the intelligent monsters. He continue go down more, to floor 25. Kuro insisted on following him but he told her that it would be best to stick close to the Xenos.

And just like that, he continue further down, little did he know, something is lurking behind them.

...

Toji's breath was steady as he surveyed the carnage before him.

The bodies of the Xenos littered the ground in front of him, twisted and broken, evidence of the violent ambush that had come for them.

His sharp eyes traced the bloodstains, the slashes in the walls, and the destroyed remnants of their once-safe base.

Whoever had done this was smart, moving quickly, methodical, and efficient. They knew what they were doing.

His fingers curled into fists as his cursed energy flared up, the tension in the air thick with the faint remnants of battle.

But something else was off, something he hadn't felt before. A faint, shaky cry echoed in the distance, barely audible through the quiet aftermath of violence.

"Kuro..." he muttered under his breath, a flicker of concern cutting through his usual cold demeanor.

The cry sounded distorted, wrong. His heart beat faster, his instincts kicking into overdrive.

That was not the Kuro he knew.

Toji moved, his steps quick but measured. His cursed energy surged as he followed the sound, deeper into the Dungeon.

He didn't care about the carnage left behind anymore, his focus was entirely on her.

He could feel the presence ahead of him. A monstrous energy. It was Kuro, but she wasn't the same.

She was different.

As he rounded the corner, his eyes locked onto her.

Kuro, his Kuro, stood before him.

But she was no longer the innocent child he had been looking after.

Her once soft blue skin had darkened, and the red crystal on her forehead was missing.

Her eyes glowed with an eerie orange-red, her body trembling as she seemed to growl and lash out at the air, a monstrous aura surrounding her.

The Xenos had always known the risks of the Dungeon, but this? This wasn't something they had prepared for.

She had transformed. Into something else. Something wild. And her movements were erratic, desperate, as though she no longer knew friend from foe.

Toji stood still for a moment, his gaze calculating.

She wasn't the same anymore.

And yet, despite everything, despite her monstrous form, her primal instincts, Toji couldn't bring himself to harm her.

He had seen enough destruction in his life to know what a lost cause looked like. But this wasn't that. She wasn't a threat. She was just scared. Alone. And she had been pushed too far.

A growl escaped from Toji's throat as he took a step forward. "Kuro," he called softly, his voice low and steady.

Her head snapped towards him, and for a moment, he saw the flicker of recognition in her eyes. But that recognition was fleeting, replaced with confusion.

The chaos in her mind was clear, but she didn't attack. She just... stood there. Her body tense, ready to lash out.

Toji didn't hesitate. His cursed energy exploded outward, sending a pulse through the air. The feeling of pressure and force was enough to make the air itself shudder.

He could feel the Dungeon's depths reacting to him. And as he took another step forward, his intentions were clear: he was not going to let anything happen to her.

Without another word, Toji called upon his shikigami, ten dark figures rising behind him, forming an intimidating presence.

Divine Dogs, Nue, the escape rabbits, each of them materialized with deadly precision, their ominous forms circling Toji like an extension of his will.

And behind them, Mahoraga appeared, his massive form coiling with dangerous energy, ready to obey Toji's command.

Kuro's eyes widened at the sight of the creatures, and despite her primal fear, she instinctively took a step back.

But Toji's presence alone seemed to calm her, his sheer power wrapping around her like a shield.

"Toji..." Her voice trembled as she spoke, her human side still buried under the monstrous instincts.

But the connection between them was undeniable. Even in this form, Kuro still recognized him. She was afraid, but there was a flicker of trust.

He looked down at her with a rare softness in his eyes, even though his face remained stoic. "Stay behind me," Toji commanded, his voice cold but protective. "I won't let anyone touch you."

Kuro's trembling body stiffened, and she nodded slightly.

She wasn't sure what was happening or why Toji was doing this, but she couldn't help but follow him.

There was something safe in his presence, even if he was terrifying.

It didn't take long for others to notice the disturbance.

Adventurers had been nearby, drawn by the sound of Kuro's transformation.

They moved toward the scene, their eyes wide with disbelief.

Toji's reputation had preceded him, but this? This was something else entirely.

The Loki Familia arrived first. Aiz, Bete, and the others stood at the ready, weapons drawn.

They had seen their fair share of dangerous monsters, but this? A human, an adventurer, protecting a monster? The rumors were true.

"What the hell is this?" Bete snarled, his hand twitching on his sword hilt. "Are you seriously defending that thing, Toji?"

Toji turned to face them, his cold gaze locking with Bete's. "This doesn't concern you," he said flatly, his voice dripping with menace. "Get out of my way."

Aiz stood at the front, her usual calm expression mixed with a hint of confusion. She had fought alongside Toji before, but this? She couldn't understand it.

Why was he protecting a monster? And why did he look so unbothered by the situation?

"Toji, this is too dangerous," she said, her voice steady but firm. "You're putting everyone in danger."

But Toji's eyes were unwavering. He didn't flinch, didn't show any sign of backing down. "Danger?" he repeated. "The only danger here is you getting in my way."

Bete growled and charged forward, sword in hand, clearly intent on cutting down the "monster" in front of him.

But before he could take another step, Toji raised his hand, and the Divine Dogs moved in. With a single command, they attacked, sending Bete reeling back.

The battle was on.

Adventurers rushed forward, but Toji's shikigami were everywhere, swift, deadly, and relentless. Divine Dogs tore through the air, striking down anyone who dared come near.

Mahoraga, ever vigilant, moved like an unstoppable force, its massive form slamming through the ground, knocking enemies aside.

In the chaos, Kuro remained at Toji's side, her eyes wide as she watched the carnage unfold.

She didn't understand what was happening, but there was one thing she knew for sure: Toji was protecting her.

She felt something like safety, something she hadn't felt since before all this chaos began.

But the Loki Familia wasn't backing down. Aiz was still trying to reason with him, but she could see the look in his eyes. There was no reasoning with him. He wasn't going to stop.

"Why?" Aiz asked, breathless from the intensity of the fight. "Why are you doing this?"

Toji's answer was simple, his voice as cold as ever: "Because I choose who lives and dies. And she's not dying today."

Toji continued to fight with brutal efficiency, his shikigami ripping through anyone who got too close.

His reputation was solidified in an instant: the adventurer who didn't hesitate to protect a monster, even at the cost of everything.

The rumors were true. And from that day forward, Orario would know that Toji Fushiguro was not a man who followed the rules.

He made his own.

...

"Toji, stop!" Aiz's voice was pleading now, her sword ready but uncertain.

She had fought with him before, seen his power firsthand, but this was different. She know how dangerous he can be if he go for the kill, especially with that monster next to him, Mahoraga.

She couldn't understand why he was protecting a monster, why he was so unbothered by the chaos he was causing.

Toji didn't even look at her. His focus was entirely on the battlefield.

"You're all in the way," he said, his voice low but filled with an undeniable edge.

Mahoraga's body coiled and writhed like a serpent, its power almost palpable.

Its ability to adapt to any attack, to counter magic and physical strikes, made it one of the deadliest creatures in existence.

It was the perfect weapon for a man like Toji, unstoppable, relentless, and loyal only to him.

"Move," Toji said to Mahoraga, his voice an unwavering command.

With terrifying speed, Mahoraga slithered forward, its massive form cutting through the air like a living weapon.

Aiz was the first to react, raising her sword and charging at the creature with all her might.

But before she could land a blow, Mahoraga's body shifted, its form adapting to her attack mid-air.

It twisted around her sword with unnatural flexibility, dodging her strike and slamming its massive tail into her side.

The force of the impact sent Aiz flying through the air, crashing into the ground with a heavy thud. She groaned in pain, struggling to get up as she stared in disbelief at the creature.

"Damn it..." she muttered, clutching her side.

Toji didn't even flinch at her fall. His attention was on the rest of the Loki Familia, his eyes scanning the remaining adventurers. He wasn't in a rush. He wasn't worried.

Bete had barely managed to pull himself to his feet when Toji moved again. He didn't need to look, he just snapped his fingers.

Mahoraga reacted instantly, its tail flicking forward like a whip and lashing out at Bete.

The force of the attack sent him flying backward, his body slamming against a nearby wall, leaving a crater in its wake.

The other adventurers hesitated, unsure of how to approach. They had never seen anything like this before.

A man, an adventurer, wreaking this kind of destruction without a hint of hesitation. He was untouchable, and his shikigami were even more terrifying.

As Toji continued to move, his playful, almost bored attitude stood in stark contrast to the devastation he was causing.

He walked through the battlefield like it was just another day, his hands in his pockets, his face impassive.

Nue, its massive wings spreading out behind him like a dark omen.

It soared into the air, dropping down to attack another adventurer who foolishly tried to charge him.

The adventurer's sword was torn apart in an instant, and before he could react, the Nue was upon him, its claws sinking into his body.

Toji's eyes barely registered the attack, his expression blank as he observed the chaos around him. He was in control, he had always been in control.

"Loki Familia," Toji said with a dismissive chuckle. "Aren't you supposed to be a bit more competent than this?"

The rest of the Loki Familia was now fully on edge, their fear palpable. They had never been in a situation like this before.

A man who didn't care about the rules, a man who didn't care about anyone's opinion, who was willing to kill without hesitation.

Toji wasn't just an adventurer, he was a nightmare, and the fact that he was fighting for a monster made him even more dangerous.

"You're not getting away with this," Aiz called out from the ground, her voice filled with determination. She struggled to stand, her sword still in hand.

"Is that so?" Toji said, turning toward her with a slight smirk. He didn't raise his voice, he didn't need to. "You're free to try."

He didn't care about the consequences of his actions.

He didn't care about the gods' disapproval or the adventurers who now feared him.

All that mattered was that Kuro, his responsibility, was safe.

And if anyone got in his way? They were dead.

Mahoraga's tail lashed out again, and Aiz barely managed to block the attack with her sword.

The force of the blow sent her staggering back, her legs giving way beneath her.

She fell to her knees, breathless, as Mahoraga loomed over her, its enormous form casting a shadow across the ground.

The rest of the Loki Familia, seeing the overwhelming power of Toji and his shikigami, hesitated.

They knew they couldn't win.

Even Aiz, the sword princess, was on the verge of being crushed by Mahoraga's unrelenting power.

Toji stood still, watching them.

The feeling of superiority washed over him, not because he was trying to be intimidating, but because he simply didn't care.

Toji had always lived his life on his own terms.

The rules of adventurers, the laws of the gods, they meant nothing to him.

He was above all of it.

And today, as the Loki Familia stood before him, they were nothing more than ants under his boot.

The air was thick with tension.

The only sound that could be heard was the heavy breathing of the Loki Familia and the occasional snap of a sword or the howl of one of Toji's shikigami.

There was no room for mercy, no space for reason.

It was Toji's world now.

And the rest? They were just spectators.

This will mark a turning point.

There are still people who on his side, even though it's not that much.

But he doesn't care about that anymore, he has always been alone, even in the clan, even in kyoto, even in the jujutsu society.

He decided now.

If co-exist is the only way for Kuro and the Xenos to enjoy the surface.

Then he will do it, brute-force.

He will shape Orario, no, he will shape the entire world.

Simply because it was inconvenient for him.

Whoever try to kill him.

Gods, adventures, warriors, monsters.

No matter how many they are.

He will cut them down, one by one.
