Chapter 52 - SEASON6, EP10(EP51): Timeless

Everyone returns to Paradise, still wounded. Raphaella is the first to speak. — We're going to a more remote place, I don't have much time…

They all walk a bit farther until they reach a cabin in the middle of a deforested forest, there was enough space there for everyone.

When they arrive, Saravia and Daytona place Martin and Nylon in a room with two beds, one for each. Daytona feels relieved after carrying Nylon for so long.

— Alright… — Raphaella says, as she closes some windows and lights a few oil lamps. — I'm going to need you, Saravia, Daytona, and probably Martin, to recover as fast as possible. I can't heal demons, and I think humans neither, but the Kamiiro effect only lasts a few hours before you can regenerate again.

Raphaella continues. — We still haven't collected Belphegor's blood, we need to collect it immediately. We can't fight Belphegor because of our current condition, so we'll try to resolve this peacefully. — Everyone agrees.

Saravia then asks. — Are we leaving Martin and Nylon here?

Raphaella looks at Saravia. — Yes, the three of us will go to the Ring of Sloth to talk to Belphegor, but Daytona. — She looks at Daytona.

— I'll try to heal at least your face, alright? It's going to hurt a lot, but it's necessary. — Raphaella says.

— Okay! — Daytona agrees.

Raphaella creates a yellow energy around her hands and approaches Daytona, beginning to heal her, but the process is painful, even for Daytona.

Daytona can finally see again, so she asks. — What happens if you regenerate me too much? Also, I'm a demon and you're a Cherubim.

— If I regenerate you too much, my angelic cells will consume your demonic cells, meaning it would destroy your cells. So only the face is enough, you'll have to regenerate your arm yourself. — Raphaella says, while wrapping bandages around Martin's and Nylon's bodies.

— Let's go quickly. — Raphaella summons a portal and the three enter, heading to the Ring of Sloth, heading toward Belphegor's Mansion.

They walk for a few minutes until they reach the place, Daytona's arm suddenly regenerates along the way.

— I didn't think Kamiiro took so long to regenerate. — Daytona says, checking her regenerated arm.

Saravia also speaks. — Some of my cuts from the battle against Lucifer already regenerated, but some are still missing. — Saravia looks at Raphaella, right beside her. — Raphaella?

— Kamiiro destroys the cells in the injured area, that's why regeneration takes longer. If whoever was injured is strong, Kamiiro is neutralized faster. — Raphaella says.

All three arrive at Belphegor's mansion. Raphaella was about to knock on the door first, but she thinks twice. — Daytona, come here, knock on the door.

— Why? — Daytona asks.

— You're a demon, so it's better if you knock. — Raphaella says, stepping away from the door and moving beside Saravia.

Daytona takes a deep breath, gathers courage, and knocks on the door, but… no response.

Daytona turns to the others. — I think there's no one ho—

Suddenly the gates open, revealing a long corridor inside, well lit, red walls and a very long green carpet.

Saravia whispers to Raphaella. — Do you think we can go in?

— I think so… — Raphaella says softly.

The three enter and walk down the corridor. Saravia gets distracted by thousands of books and paintings of ancient demons, on the paintings there were peculiar names like Astaroth, Marchosias, Agares, Baphomet…

— Hey, Daytona. — Saravia says, still looking at the paintings. — What do you think happened to these demons in these paintings?

— I don't know, I've never seen them before. — Daytona replies, also looking at the paintings.

After walking dozens of meters, they finally reach a kind of room, with a bonfire exactly in the center, some armchairs, and in one of those armchairs, a shadow…

— Interesting to see you here, especially you, Daytona… — The voice says, as the chair slowly turns toward the three.

There stood Belphegor, calmly observing them while drinking a hot coffee, the place was strangely peaceful.

His appearance greatly resembled Belzebub, the only difference being that his goat skull head had no horns, and he was shorter.

— You may sit, what do you want? — He says calmly, taking a sip of his coffee.

Daytona and Saravia sit on some of the armchairs around the bonfire. Raphaella is the first to speak.

— I'll get straight to the point, we need your blood to make a kind of drug to kill Raydillon. We killed all 7 Sins except Leviathan and Belzebub to make this antidote, and only your blood is missing.

Belphegor spits out all his coffee, terrified by the idea. — What!? Kill Raydillon? Literally God? Are you insane!? — He calms himself a bit. — Tell me this plan, I want to understand everything before starting anything…

Raphaella takes a deep breath. — I took all the blood from all 7 Sins except you and two others for now. My idea is to prepare an antidote to inject a kind of spiritual impurity into Raydillon. We'll find a way to bring him to the Ring of Pride and wait until he loses his infinite holiness, then we'll eliminate him.

Raphaella continues. — The idea is to restrain and contain him until he literally rots. I'll be honest with you, I want freedom. I want to break these chains of Paradise, I want to escape his control and finally be a truly free living being.

Belphegor understands the weight of Raphaella's words, but decides to be honest. — I understand… Lucifer's blood alone would be enough, since it's impure yet still divine, so Raydillon's body wouldn't see it as a threat. But it was a good idea to collect the blood of the other 7 Sins for greater effectiveness.

Belphegor stands up and walks to a bookshelf, picks up a specific book and opens it on a certain page. — First, you need to understand that Raydillon's combat style is classified as "Cataclysmic," meaning when he wants something, he can do it.

Belphegor sits back down in his armchair. — Understand this, Raydillon isn't just any opponent, he's almost a law of nature, something essential to the world, but not the only supporting pillar that exists.

Saravia hesitates and decides to ask. — What do you mean by "classified"? Are there really combat styles? Like, organized ones?

Belphegor looks at Saravia. — Yes, there are organized combat types. — He uses his power to project the book page in a larger, clearer scale.

Then he begins to explain one by one. — There will be some surprises and some already known or expected.

Raphaella sits in a chair, also curious to see what would be explained, along with Saravia and Daytona.

Belphegor points to one of the illustrations hovering above the page. — The first is Hand-to-Hand, the most common of all, close combat, direct exchange of blows.

Belphegor turns the page. — This is the Blades category, users who wield katanas and swords.

— The "Relative" category is when a weapon appears only at the exact moment of a technique or ability that requires it. — Belphegor looks at Raphaella. — You're one example, Raphaella.

Raphaella remembers that she really uses something like that, her first element of Kaminari no Megami, "God's Air," which she used against Lucifer.

Belphegor closes the book. — There are still other combat styles, like Hybrid, which uses weapons to apply special abilities, Sub-Combat, which is meant to deceive the enemy's mind, Psycho-Combat, which creates hallucinations and such. Do you want to know more about anything?

Saravia nudges Daytona with her shoulder. — Aren't you going to ask about the "Eighth Ring" or your sister? — She says quietly.

Daytona thinks for a moment. — Yeah, I think that might be a good idea… — Daytona stands up and walks toward Belphegor. — I wanted to ask something, do you know a "Nina"? The supposed ruler of the Eighth Ring?

Belphegor looks surprised and lets out a laugh, then answers calmly. — Well, first, it's not exactly an "Eighth Ring," but rather a sphere of fire, where souls are truly condemned. Only those who commit all sins or are killed by angels go there, the so-called Purgatory. — Belphegor walks back to the bookshelf and puts the book away.

Belphegor returns and sits in his armchair again. — Well… Nina Baphomet… she was a literal phenomenon here in Setealem.

Daytona is shocked to hear that, especially since Nina is her sister, whom Daytona barely had contact with.

Daytona then asks curiously. — And what is she like? How is she? Tell me everything!

Belphegor takes a deep breath and sips his coffee. — Well, Nina arrived in Setealem suddenly without warning. She arrived in Hell already killing Arch-Demons and Adversaries who had ruled for millennia as if they were nothing. At the time she was about… 8 years old? I don't remember exactly, but her power was so great and devastating that Lucifer had to restrain her by taking her powers. Her ability type was very peculiar, she controlled air, pressure, vacuum, chemical elements, and worst of all… a kind of fusion with the atmosphere that allows her to control absolutely EVERYTHING within her domain, like an "Atmosintegration." She became known as "The Atmosphere Demon." She was as dangerous as Lucifer, one of the only demons considered truly Onimalevolent. — Belphegor takes another sip of coffee. — But I find it strange, since Lucifer wanted her as a daughter for some reason, but we'll leave that aside.

Saravia reflects aloud. — And she didn't even need a Capital Sin to be that strong… strange!

Raphaella suddenly stands up, as if remembering something important. — Anyway! Let's organize things quickly, Belphegor, will you give the blood anyway?

Belphegor replies. — Yes, I will, because nothing else matters to me anymore. Good luck to you. — He cuts his own wrist with his nail, blood flows out and Raphaella dissolves it.

— Thank you, Belphegor, good luck to you too. — Raphaella says.

— You're welcome, goodbye! — He replies.

Raphaella summons a portal back to Paradise and the three enter, returning to the same place they were before.

(Meanwhile, in the Ring of Peace…)

Hawangard walks in circles, trying to focus on what she might do without wanting to and even knowing she wouldn't.

She sits on a fallen tree trunk. — Damn it! What the hell is Raphaella thinking doing something like this!? Now there will only be two Cherubims left!

Cain stands with his arms crossed, watching Hawangard nervously. — I don't know, I think you should've foreseen this, shouldn't you? Since you're the Cherubim of "Time," right?

Hawangard looks at Cain, serious yet ironic. — Was that supposed to be offensive?

— Hmm… maybe. — Cain says.

Hawangard stands up, furious. — Listen here, you bastard, either you help with this crap or you leave right now, you choose.

Cain approaches her with a smile. — Oh dear… I'm not chained here like you angels, I'm free, I can do whatever I want.

Hawangard's eyes take the shape of an analog clock with three hands as she steps closer, staring at him. — One day you'll see how things really work, smartass.

A blue energy sphere and a red energy sphere appear beside Cain. — Hmmm, I don't think so, I think you're delusional. — Cain says, noticing Hawangard's real intent to attack him.

— Hawangard, no. — Metatron had been there the whole time, unnoticed. — I believe you can imagine how this battle would end, can't you?

Hawangard controls herself, calms down, and sits back on the trunk. — I just wanted something interesting to do in this life, but after all these years I've done everything possible.

Metatron walks in front of her. — As long as opposing forces exist, we will have missions. So calm yourself, wait, and obey.

Hawangard becomes even more irritated. — Oh fuck off, Metatron! It feels more like he uses us to do things for him, how annoying.

Metatron and Cain look at each other, then Cain speaks first. — So, Hawangard, are you going to train with me later?

— Yeah, sure, it'll help me relieve stress. — Hawangard stands up and walks toward a nearby river.

Metatron feels an aura, a familiar presence, but assumes it's just an Archangel nearby. He removes his sword, called Arcane Knight, from his back and rests it against the same tree trunk, reflecting on the future and his life so far.
