Chapter 6 - Building an Altar

On their way, Martin could not stop looking at the time. He checked now and then.

"Vessel not ready to be inhabited," Martin said to himself. Martin wondered how he was supposed to get ready. He then remembered the daily quests. He decided to complete the quest and decided to start by drinking water. Martin took out a wineskin filled with water and started to drink. Immediately he finished drinking. A screen popped up.

He had always had difficulties being physically active in his previous life he was surprised at how easy to complete the task.

They traveled together but the bride did her own thing. She usually chased animals and picked flowers. She still did not say a word to Martin. He accounted her weirdness to being held captive for years.

Soon they got to the town where her father had lived. Martin saw a similar quest note posted around.

NEW QUEST AVAILABLE

BUILD AN ALTAR

[Accept][Decline]

"Maybe this might help in my predicament," Martin muttered to himself then tapped accept. Suddenly a map appeared directing him to a location. Upon getting they he noticed a man sitting at the exact spot. He was about to introduce himself when the man got up and left. He followed him until he noticed the arrow on the map pointing somewhere else. He followed it back to the same spot.

"How does one even build an altar?" Martin mumbled to himself. Martin looked around he wondered why the system wanted to build an altar there. The place was rustic, far away from the center of the village.

"Altars should be placed somewhere people would notice. Somewhere busy even if there are no worshipers no one will destroy it." Martin mumbled to himself then went to look for the bride. He found her kneeling by the river.

"Does any of these trigger memories?" Martin asked, the bride picked up a shell and put it on her ear.

"Come with me I want to show you something," Martin said and grabbed her by the hand. She led her to one of the quest notes. It may have been the last letter her father wrote. He hoped it would have at least triggered a memory. As he showed the bride the note she wandered off. He later found her kneeling at the exact spot to erect the altar. After she cleared some dust off the top. It revealed a tombstone

"Asue Yjat"

The bride said as tears rolled down her cheeks.
