Chapter 7 - Castorice: I Am Willing to Vouch for Lord Derick

The Heroes' Bathhouse.

This was the place where the Golden Ones bathed and rested. Soaking a weary body in hot water allowed for complete relaxation.

The steaming pool water glowed with a golden light, appearing luxurious and splendid.

Tribbie, Trinnon, and Castorice arrived here; the blonde Aglaea had already been standing here for a long time.

Standing beside the bath, her figure was perfectly proportioned. Her long, smooth hair cascaded down, slightly curled at the ends, shimmering in the sunlight. Her eyes were deep like the night sky, her blue pupils revealing mystery and wisdom, and her thick, long eyelashes fluttered lightly like butterfly wings.

She wore a gorgeous white long dress, the hem adorned with gold thread patterns, fitting Aglaea's graceful body curves perfectly. The neckline was inlaid with sparkling gems, complementing her fair skin. On her slender arms and thighs, she wore ring-like ornaments.

On her feet were a pair of openwork gold-threaded high-heeled sandals. Her feet were well-proportioned, her toes slender and neat, nails trimmed perfectly and painted gold. The arch of her foot was beautifully curved, and the skin on her soles was soft and supple.

Aglaea standing here was like a goddess stepping out of mythology.

Aglaea walked up to the three and said softly, "My Master, Castorice, you've returned. Did you discover anything on your patrol today?"

"We met someone very interesting when we went out today," Tribbie looked up at Aglaea, her tone very serious.

"Oh? Someone My Master would call interesting. Is it that handsome young man who returned with you?" Although Aglaea's words were a question, her tone was certain.

Everything within Okhema was under her surveillance; new faces couldn't be hidden from her. When Castorice and the others returned to Okhema, Aglaea had noticed the handsome young man beside Tribbie.

"Yes, he can touch Little Castorice," Tribbie nodded seriously.

Trinnon, beside them, covered her mouth in surprise, saying in shock, "You, you said Little Derick can touch Little Castorice? How, how is that possible? Won't Thanatos take him away?"

Aglaea also frowned, revealing a thoughtful expression.

"My Master, are you certain about this?"

"Yes." Tribbie turned to look at Castorice. "Little Castorice, you were in constant contact with Little Derick. Tell Aya the specifics of what happened."

"Yes, Lady Tribbie. Lady Aglaea, earlier when Lady Tribbie and I were patrolling outside the city, we happened upon a merchant caravan being attacked by Nikador's minions. Their leader, Jason, told us someone had lured away the Condemnation Gladiators, so I immediately went to rescue him. When I arrived, I saw Derick, whose body below the chest was severely damaged..." Castorice stepped forward and recounted everything that had happened to Aglaea truthfully.

After hearing Castorice's account, Aglaea showed a thoughtful expression.

"Not only did he not die due to Castorice's ability, but he also possesses extraordinary recovery power. This ability completely shields him from Thanatos's perception. Such concealment, even Zagreus, the Titan of Trickery, cannot achieve. My Master, do you have any other thoughts about this young man named Derick?"

He claimed to be from Crete, but Aglaea had never heard of this village.

Such a young man of unknown origin, not a Golden One, yet possessing talent and abilities even stronger than the Golden Ones.

Although Derick's current strength was quite weak, not even comparable to Okhema's elite soldiers, this ability that surpassed her understanding and control instinctively made Aglaea feel uneasy.

She even suspected if this person came from somewhere beyond the sky Titan Aquila's domain.

After all, in this land, even the Golden Ones couldn't escape Thanatos's call. Mydei, who bore the curse of immortality, could only 'come back to life', not 'never die'. Now, the appearance of someone who couldn't die inevitably made her feel that this person was not from Amphoreus.

"Aya, don't overthink it. Little Derick is definitely from Amphoreus."

Having known each other for countless ages, Tribbie naturally understood her thoughts. Tribbie looked at Aglaea and said, "When he saw Kephale, I noticed his expression. It wasn't the look of someone completely ignorant. Of course, Aya, you could say Little Derick had prior contact with others, but if that were the case, wouldn't it be better for Little Derick to directly name that city-state instead of fabricating a village we don't know?"

"The most crucial point is, I believe Little Derick is not a bad person."

Her impression of Derick was very good; she didn't believe he was a bad person at all.

"My Master, I am willing to trust your judgment, but I must be cautious. If he can resist Thanatos, then when Castorice goes to seize Thanatos's Core Flame, he can provide us with immense help. Moreover, the appearance of such a person who can resist death will also attract the attention of those in the Senate. We must be cautious. If they use this as a pretext to cause trouble, it will be a problem for us."

The Senate was willing to hand power over to the Golden Ones because only the Golden Ones' Flamechase Journey could save this world. But at this time, the appearance of someone who wasn't a Golden One but possessed unusual abilities—what thoughts they might have, Aglaea could hear clearly even with her toes.

"That's the Senate's business; it has nothing to do with Little Derick."

Listening to their conversation, Castorice took a step forward and said to Tribbie and Aglaea, "Lady Aglaea, I am willing to vouch for Lord Derick's character. At the same time, to prevent any danger to him, I am also willing to protect his safety."

Derick was the only person who could touch her. Castorice naturally didn't want anything to happen to this last remaining warmth.

And to avoid any real problems, whether from him or the Senate, Castorice would have to watch him closely.

"Little Castorice..."

Trinnon was somewhat surprised, yet she somewhat understood Castorice's thoughts.

Aglaea then said to Castorice, "Alright, since both My Master and you, Castorice, vouch for him, I am willing to trust this young man named Derick. However, I still need to meet him myself to be truly reassured."

Although Derick was dangerous, if his immortality could truly be useful against Thanatos, then Castorice becoming a demigod would be effortless. Currently, the only demigods in Okhema were her and Tribbie. Cipher had vanished somewhere. Having another demigod would be an enormous help to the entire Flamechase Journey.

"Yes, Lady Aglaea. I will bring Lord Derick here now."

After speaking, Castorice turned to leave and find Derick.
