Chapter 36: The Alpha's Wrath
The air vibrated with an intense, oppressive aura as Kazuki's crimson eyes glowed fiercely. Lady Arwen staggered back, her once smug expression now twisted with shock and fear. The power emanating from Kazuki was nothing like before — it was wild, raw, and untamed.
"W-What are you?!" Lady Arwen's voice trembled as she raised her hands, dark magic swirling around her fingertips.
Kazuki stepped forward, his expression cold and unyielding. The crimson aura flared around him, pulsating like a living, breathing entity. The Dire Wolves surrounding him lowered their heads, their eyes gleaming gold as they submitted to their new Alpha.
"You tried to use them," Kazuki said, his voice reverberating with a deeper, almost primal timbre. "You tried to use me. Now, it's my turn."
Lady Arwen's eyes narrowed, her jaw clenching. "You insolent worm! You think you can control power beyond your comprehension?!"
Before Kazuki could respond, Lady Arwen thrust her hands forward, releasing a torrent of dark magic. The air crackled as the spell surged toward Kazuki, black tendrils snaking through the air like living shadows.
Kazuki's gaze remained fixed on her. Without moving a muscle, he raised his hand. The crimson aura swirled around him, forming a barrier of raw energy. The dark magic collided with the barrier, erupting in a burst of sparks and smoke.
[Alpha Command activated. Skill: Alpha's Roar. Command all subordinates to attack.]
Kazuki's lips curled into a cold smile. "Go."
The Dire Wolves howled in unison, their eyes blazing gold as they charged forward. Lady Arwen's eyes widened as the pack of massive beasts lunged at her, fangs bared and claws slashing through the air.
Lady Arwen twisted her body, narrowly avoiding the first wolf's strike. She spun around, conjuring a barrier of dark energy as another wolf crashed into it, snarling and snapping. The ground trembled under the sheer force of the attack.
"You think you can defeat me?!" Lady Arwen's voice echoed as she raised her arms, summoning a wave of black flames that engulfed the area. The Dire Wolves yelped as the fire seared their fur, but they continued their relentless assault, their loyalty to Kazuki unwavering.
Kazuki watched calmly, his eyes never leaving Lady Arwen. The power coursing through him was intoxicating — he could feel every pulse, every beat, every surge of energy. The wolves moved as if they were extensions of his own will, their every action synchronized with his thoughts.
But as the battle raged on, a voice echoed in Kazuki's mind — a voice that wasn't his own.
[Warning. Alpha Command at 85% power. Critical instability detected. Control slipping.]
Kazuki's jaw clenched. "Damn it..."
The ground beneath him trembled as the crimson aura flickered, the raw power starting to spiral out of control. The Dire Wolves paused, their eyes momentarily flickering between gold and red.
Lady Arwen smirked, wiping blood from the corner of her mouth. "Looks like you're not as in control as you think, boy."
Kazuki gritted his teeth, sweat dripping down his brow. The power was too much — too wild. It threatened to consume him, to tear him apart from the inside out.
[Alpha Command at 90% power. Stabilize immediately.]
Kazuki fell to one knee, his breath coming in ragged gasps. His vision blurred, the world around him spinning. The wolves howled, their minds caught between Kazuki's command and Lady Arwen's dark influence.
Lady Arwen cackled, her eyes gleaming with malicious glee. "You thought you could control me? Foolish child. Now, watch as I tear everything you hold dear apart."
She raised her hands, the black flames surging forward, swallowing the wolves and Kazuki in an inferno of darkness.
Kazuki's scream echoed through the night, his vision fading as the world plunged into blackness.
