"You again!" Selina exclaimed, glaring at Zane, who sat across from her with his legs crossed, elbow pressed against the armrest, temple resting on his knuckles—like he owned the space, like he had been waiting for her return for a long time.
Since that event, they hadn't seen each other—or so she believed, unaware that Zane had come to see her during her celebration.
"Yes, it's me. Your husband, Zane Kaius," he said in his usual deep, soothing yet arrogant voice.
He winked. Selina shot him a dead glare.
That irritating word—husband—made her teeth clench.
"I'm sure I've never acknowledged a man called Zane Kaius as my husband. But why are you even in my house? How did you get in?"
"The landlady gave me the keys," Zane said, raising them casually as they clattered quietly in the air.
"Seriously? Why would she? What did you tell her? And you still haven't answered why you're here!"
