"What?!" Aidan exclaimed loudly in disbelief. She could hear the sound of rough driving and she assumed he was on his way to get his woman out of prison, but that was impossible, because there was clear evidence of Anna embezzling company funds.
Kathryna smirked at her grand plan.
There was something strangely satisfying about provoking the man who so many feared, the so-called Great Dane whose name carried the weight of power and menace.
"I know what you're doing," Aidan snarled, his voice vibrating with fury. "You're turning this entire mess against her because she nearly caught you. If you know what's good for you, you'll find a way to get her out this very minute, or…"
Kathryna interrupted, her tone sharp with mockery. "Or what? What will you do, Aidan? Because you are the Great Dane, do you think I'm supposed to tremble whenever you bark?"
