Chapter 154 - Chapter 154: Sister? Mom?

Uchiha Hikari glanced at Fenrir, huddled in the corner.

The massive dragon still looked completely clueless, like he had no idea what had just gone down between her and Xia Mi. He was too busy guarding his precious pile of bottle caps, candy wrappers, potato chips, and toy cars.

Hikari let out a sympathetic sigh before turning her attention back to Xia Mi. "Alright, fine, I'll come clean. You can think of me as the White King. That's what the hybrids in Japan call me."

"?!"

The White King?!

Xia Mi's eyes widened, her pupils narrowing to slits.

Her first instinct was to dismiss it as impossible. Every dragon knew the story: the White King had been executed by the Black King in ancient times, her body bound to a towering bronze pillar and cast into the icy sea. After six epochs of being frozen, she was thrown into an undersea volcano, burned to ash, and those ashes were consumed by the Black King, who reclaimed the power and authority he'd once given her. How could someone like that still be alive?

But…

If it was the White King, her overwhelming power would make sense.

"Is that for real?" Xia Mi asked skeptically, staring into Hikari's eyes as if trying to catch a lie.

"Totally real," Hikari said with a nod.

She couldn't exactly spill the beans about the interdimensional chat group or her world-hopping adventures. Claiming to be the White King was a convenient cover. The real White King was long gone, and no new one had emerged to call her bluff.

"…"

Xia Mi mulled it over, seeming to buy the explanation, though her guard wasn't entirely down. "So, you and Odin…?"

"Don't know him. Never met him," Hikari said, shaking her head. "Besides, do you really think anything in this world could order me, the White King, around?"

Fair point.

According to legend, the White King was the Black King's equal, a being so powerful that only someone like the Black King could bring her down. And since the White King had once wielded the element of "spirit" and endured six epochs of imprisonment before her death, it wasn't impossible that she'd left behind some kind of revival contingency.

Accepting this, Xia Mi's hostility began to fade. Then, out of nowhere, a random thought popped into her head.

Unlike the four Dragon Kings, who were like the Black King's "children," the White King was both his creation and his partner. It was said that when the Black King executed her, he roared in agony, soaring to the heavens' peak before plunging into the ocean's depths, shattering the winter ice in a cycle repeated seven times.

If this girl was really the White King…

What should Xia Mi call her?

Sister?

Or… Mom?

Meanwhile, Hikari had no clue about the weird tangent Xia Mi's mind had wandered off to. She was busy walking toward the edge of a nearby crevice, where she crouched down and peered into it. "By the way, does the ruckus we caused in this Nibelungen affect the outside world?"

If she remembered right, Fenrir had caused a 2.1-magnitude earthquake during the events of Dragon Raja II.

"…It has some effect, but it shouldn't be too serious," Xia Mi replied.

As she spoke, she let go of her draconic features. The bony spikes and scales receded into her body, and her majestic wings folded tightly against her back, sinking beneath her skin.

In just a dozen seconds, she transformed from a dragon-human hybrid back into a fully human form. Barefoot, she walked over to Hikari, her newly formed skin soft and radiant like a baby's, every PLEASE NOTE: The following sentence contains an incomplete phrase. Hikari's eyes were momentarily dazzled by the sight. She glanced over and froze.

"What's wrong?" Xia Mi asked, tilting her head, her long hair cascading down like a waterfall, partially covering her chest.

"…Don't you think you should, uh, put some clothes on?" Hikari said hesitantly.

She couldn't help but wonder if these high-level dragons had some kind of shameless gene. Why were they all so comfortable running around naked?

"The mighty White King cares about something so trivial?" Xia Mi teased with a blink. "You're not exactly in one piece yourself, you know."

"…"

She had a point.

Xia Mi's hoodie had been torn to shreds by her dragon form, leaving her stark naked upon reverting to human. Hikari's own clothes hadn't fared much better in the fight, with rips and tears revealing glimpses of her figure. Her skin wasn't as delicate as Xia Mi's, but it was still smooth and pale, like fine milk.

Hikari glanced down at herself, then stood up and tossed a universal capsule to the side.

Pop!

A cloud of smoke cleared, revealing a small house, dozens of meters wide, standing in its place.

"??"

Xia Mi's jaw dropped.

"Alchemy at its finest. Pretty cool, right?" Hikari said with a mysterious smile.

Xia Mi: "…"

"Come on, let's clean up and change before we get to business. If you don't have spare clothes, you can borrow some of mine," Hikari said, pushing open the door to the house.

…

Ten minutes later, Hikari emerged from the bathroom barefoot, drying her hair slowly before slipping into a fresh set of casual clothes.

Xia Mi came out a few minutes later, having rummaged through the wardrobe before picking out a T-shirt and jeans.

Despite being deep underground in a cavern, the room felt alive with a bright, springlike vibe as the two changed.

Gulp—

Hikari stole a few glances at Xia Mi, swallowing hard before speaking casually. "So, how's the fit?"

Compared to Eri, Xia Mi's build was closer to Hikari's, just a few centimeters taller and not quite as… endowed. The clothes didn't look out of place on her.

"The shirt's a bit short, but it's fine," Xia Mi said, tugging at the T-shirt hem, which left a sliver of her pale midriff exposed. "Human girls seem to like this style, right? Shows off the curves."

Hikari's eyes narrowed as she looked the Dragon King over. "Sounds like you know a lot about humans."

"Of course! I've spent time blending into human society, studying them. No dragon knows humans better than me," Xia Mi said with a hint of pride.

But then it hit her—among the four Dragon Kings, she was the best at blending in, sure, but this "White King" standing before her? She was on another level. Not a single draconic trait was visible; she seemed entirely human.

The realization left Xia Mi feeling a little defeated.

"Let's get to the point," Xia Mi said. "What's the deal, Your Majesty? Why'd you come all this way to find me and Fenrir?"

Hikari held up two fingers. "Two things."

"First, I want a sample of your blood or tissue—hair, nails, anything works."

"Second, I want a rematch somewhere else. I want to see the Word Spirits you've mimicked from the other Dragon Kings… but skip stuff like Shiva's Dance."
