Chapter 3: The Demon Must Be Embraced

"The only thing separating a weak man and a strong man is their mentality."

He was going to die.

The Majin would behead him, and he would die—alone and forgotten.

Yusa clung desperately to his Beast Blade—the cursed weapon Master Oi had entrusted to him. According to his master, a demon—or as myth called it, a beast—resided within the sword.

He never believed in such nonsense.

But Master Oi had once summoned his demon. Once… and almost died for it.

Yusa remembered the terrifying sight—his master convulsing, screaming as his body twisted in unnatural, bone-breaking contortions.

Tears welled in Yusa's eyes as the memory of his father's last words echoed in his heart.

> "Yusa… in this life, find the light."

"I'm sorry, Father…" he whispered, falling to his knees, defeated.

"I can't…"

> "Die, human."

In a blur of motion, Yusa's blade flashed upward—severing the Majin's claw in a single, precise cut.

> "What?! But how?!"

Then—

A voice.

Soft. Shrill. Unfamiliar.

Someone was calling him.

Suddenly, darkness engulfed him.

He found himself in a cold, empty space. A void.

Was this his mind?

The atmosphere pressed down on him. He felt a creeping presence slither behind his back.

A chill shot down his spine. His breath caught.

Fear—deep, primal fear—tore through him.

Just like that night.

The night his family died.

> "Yusa... it's fine.

It's me. Your demon—Aoshimaru."

The voice was twisted—demonic, sinister, and smug.

> Demon?!

He froze, heart hammering in his chest.

> "Who is Aoshimaru? What are you?! Explain yourself!"

> "Your fear summoned me, Master," the voice answered smoothly.

"And I see you're in a bit of trouble."

Yusa's mind flashed to the S-rank Majin.

> "Am I… dead?"

> "Not yet. You're fighting it unconsciously—thanks to me. I've possessed your body… but I need full control."

Full control?

Suddenly, it all made sense.

Master Oi wasn't insane. Everyone thought he was, but they were wrong.

That day Oi went berserk during a battle with a Ghost Majin—he wasn't losing his mind. He was becoming something else.

> "ARRGGHH!!"

Yusa screamed as the memory collided with reality.

> "Do you see now, Yusa?" the demon whispered.

"How glorious my form is?"

> "Come on, Yusa. I'm waiting."

Yusa clenched his fists. He was out of options. If he refused this power, he would die.

He had already lost everything.

What more could he lose?

> "What do I have to do?" he asked quietly.

The demon chuckled.

> "Excellent, Master. Just say the words—'Take control, Aoshimaru.' Once I've slain the beast, I'll return control to you."

Yusa closed his eyes. Maybe, just maybe… he'd see his family again.

> "Take control, Aoshimaru!"

The demon surged forward, a dark shadow merging with Yusa's soul.

Pain unlike anything he had ever known tore through his body.

Wings burst from his back. Horns split his skull.

Two massive arms grew beneath his normal ones.

Yusa collapsed, howling, blood seeping from his eyes as they turned a burning crimson.

---

Reality snapped back.

The S-rank Majin staggered backward in horror.

> "Is this… forbidden weaponry?!"

A system alert lit up on Yusa's palm.

The transformed Yusa—now fully possessed by Aoshimaru—grinned, sharp carnivorous teeth glinting under the moonlight.

> "Hunter?! What is this? Explain yourself!" the Majin growled.

> "Yusa is unavailable," Aoshimaru replied with dark glee.

"I am now in control."

He turned to himself and chuckled.

> "So this is what it feels like to possess a human vessel… Magnificent."

> "It doesn't matter who you are!" the Majin roared.

"I will kill both you and the hunter!"

The Majin slashed into its own flesh, letting pink blood flow. Then, with ritual precision, it smeared a line across its forehead.

> "Blood Arts… Tier 5."

> "What are you—?"

The Majin vanished, reappearing mid-air and slamming a kick down.

Aoshimaru sidestepped, grinning, and retaliated with a devastating blow that sent the Majin hurtling through the forest, crashing through trees like brittle twigs.

He raised the Beast Blade, licking his lips.

> "Looks like we have a fight on our hands," he said, voice low and eager.

> "Get ready to die, human!"

Aoshimaru twisted his neck with a sickening crack and smirked.

> "If you say so."

Lord Akuma sat upon his throne, scowling at the scene before him. He did not like what he was seeing.

General Gintama—one of the strongest Majin in existence—was struggling.

Not just that—the human was using a forbidden weapon. A weapon Akuma had personally ordered destroyed years ago.

Only one man had ever wielded such a blade… the same man who had nearly killed him.

> And now it's in the hands of a child…

"Lord Akuma," came a voice.

He turned, eyes narrowing at the approaching noble Majin—elegant, dangerous, and far too composed.

> "State your objective," Akuma growled.

The noble bowed on one knee.

> "I see you're… concerned about the boy. Yusa Itadori—the prodigy."

Akuma sneered.

> "Get to the point."

He loathed nobles. Deceptive snakes, every one of them.

> "What if I told you… I know how to kill the boy?"

Akuma barked a laugh.

> "You? Look at him—he's become a beast! Even Gintama is struggling!"

But the noble's expression remained serious.

> "Are you willing to trust me, my Lord?"

Akuma glared.

> "Why should I trust your kind?"

> "Because if this boy grows any stronger, and you any weaker…" the noble said, voice calm,

"…your kind and mine will be extinct in years."

Akuma clenched his jaw. He hated to admit it—but the noble was right.

> "Proceed," he growled.

> "Thank you, my Lord.
