It hadn't even been a month when Konoha was soon abuzz with the Uchiha clan leader's wedding.
This day!!
The entire Uchiha compound was decorated beautifully with lanterns and streamers, radiating a festive atmosphere.
Early in the morning, Uchiha clan members could be seen busily running around preparing for the ceremony, while guests began to trickle in, offering their warmest wishes.
Most of Konoha's higher-ups and clan leaders were present today as well.
Even Hyuga Nobunaga had brought his two sons, Hizashi and Hiashi, personally coming to wish Fugaku and Mikoto all the best.
Since Tsunade took over leadership, Hyuga Nobunaga realized the Uchiha clan's rise was now unstoppable.
He made the wise choice to de-escalate tensions, and Fugaku passively accepted the Hyuga clan's overture of peace.
Though the two clans still weren't close enough to be called brothers-in-arms, at least they were no longer actively scheming or competing against each other.
At the lucky hour, the wedding formally began at Fugaku's residence.
Today, Mikoto wore a shiro-muku, her delicate makeup enhancing her ethereal beauty.
As for Fugaku, his stone-faced demeanor hadn't managed to wipe the smile from his face, though unfortunately it didn't significantly enhance his appearance.
Standing side by side, they looked like a stunning flower stuck into a pile of dung.
But since Mikoto liked him anyway, there wasn't much anyone could do about it.
Kawaki not only gave Fugaku a generous red envelope but was also asked to serve as the officiant.
Originally he had tried to decline, citing his lack of dignity for such a role, but couldn't resist how enthusiastically Fugaku insisted.
Who in Konoha didn't know about Kawaki—the God of the Ninja World—and his identity as the husband of the Hokage?
Being able to have Kawaki officiate was truly an honor for both Fugaku and Mikoto.
After a few well-placed compliments, Kawaki was utterly flustered.
Any excuses he tried to make simply wouldn't come out anymore, so he accepted half-heartedly.
That was how today came to be—standing in front of countless guests, delivering heartfelt wishes for the newlyweds.
Meanwhile, several young, unmarried couples in the audience gazed at them with envious eyes.
Among them were Minato and Nawaki.
Kushina, Mikoto's closest friend, was even shedding tears.
She wrapped both arms around Minato's arm, resting her head on his shoulder while letting her tears fall.
Minato lovingly ruffled Kushina's crimson hair, his eyes full of affection, everything unspoken yet fully understood.
Misaki shot Nawaki a quick glance, and when their eyes met, both quickly turned away, faces flushed with embarrassment.
Once Kawaki finished speaking and stepped down, the wedding ceremony neared its end.
After completing every formality, Fugaku and Mikoto began offering sake to all the guests.
When they returned to the main table, one could clearly see that Fugaku's steps had already become slightly stumbling.
To avoid spoiling Fugaku's plans for the wedding night, Kawaki and others considerately refrained from pouring more alcohol into him.
As night fell, this grand wedding finally concluded successfully.
After a day of celebration, the Uchiha compound finally returned to peace and quiet.
Inside Fugaku and Mikoto's new home, naturally, romance bloomed in full bloom—a scene unfit for outside eyes.
Kawaki and the others stumbled drunkenly on their way home.
"Sis…Bro-in-law…"
"We're heading out."
Nawaki and Misaki said goodbye to Kawaki and Tsunade at the crossroads.
"Yeah. Go let Grandma know—we'll bring Ginji by tomorrow."
Tsunade waved her hand and continued walking shoulder to shoulder with Kawaki.
Ginji and Kakashi trailed not far behind them. Sakumo and Natsuki were nearly out of sight.
"You should go back too. See you tomorrow."
Minato stopped in his tracks and gently untangled Kushina's arm from his.
"Fine then. Just remember to think about me."
Kushina slightly tilted her head up to look at Minato, her eyes clouded with emotion.
Her face was flushed crimson—it was clear she'd clearly had one too many.
"Yeah. Go back and sleep well like a good girl."
Minato spoke in a voice like he was soothing a child, one hand resting on Kushina's shoulder, the other gently stroking the right side of her red hair.
"Okay."
Kushina hugged Minato tightly before turning away.
Only after watching her catch up to Nawaki and the others did Minato move forward to join his younger apprentices.
"Senior Minato, when are we going to get your wedding candies?"
Kakashi unwrapped a candy and popped it into Ginji's mouth. Both stared eagerly at Minato.
"Haha~ Why are you two so eager when I'm not even worried yet?"
Minato laughed, amused by the two. His own mind started wandering too.
He and Kushina would surely reach that day eventually.
...
Nawaki and the other two arrived back at the Senju estate. The lights inside were still on.
In recent years, Mito had grown increasingly fond of staying indoors.
With Ginji starting school, she had spent even more time alone at home.
As they just stepped through the door, laughing and chatting about Fugaku and Mikoto's wedding,
Suddenly, a figure appeared before them. All three startled and froze.
"Grandma, how do you walk so silently without a sound?"
Nawaki clutched his chest dramatically, wearing an expression of mock fright—though partly exaggerated.
"That's not entirely an act—I was actually a little scared."
"Grandma."
Kushina and Misaki greeted respectfully at the same time, bowing their heads.
In front of Mito, they always felt like children.
Seeing their drunken condition, they couldn't help but feel a quiet unease deep inside.
"Hmm."
"Yourself didn't see anything—how can you blame Grandma then?"
Mito responded gently before turning to Nawaki, a slight smile on her face.
"No, no, I was only kidding."
Grinning, Nawaki happily looped his arm through Mito's, acting anything but like an adult.
"You rascal, always trying to lift Grandma's spirits."
"So, was today's Uchiha boy's wedding lively?"

Although Mito also received an invitation, she politely declined, saying she preferred quietness.
She didn't want to place pressure on the guests because of her presence.
Whether as a Jinchūriki or simply as the First Hokage's wife, she was an undeniable presence impossible for others to ignore.
"Very lively! There were so many people there!"
Kushina quickly answered, too embarrassed to admit she'd gotten teary-eyed watching it all unfold.
As Mikoto's best friend, she was deeply moved.
And she sincerely wished the newlyweds happiness.
"Is that so? That's great then."
Mito smiled brightly, visibly delighted.
It was a small consolation that Hashirama's failure to integrate the Uchiha Clan into the village was eventually accomplished under Tsunade's leadership.
"Grandma, let's go inside and talk."
Nawaki grabbed Mito's hand and headed toward the living room—he was parched by now.
After helping Mito settle into a seat in the living room, Nawaki quickly poured tea for everyone.
"How did you feel watching someone else get married?"
Mito took a sip of tea and offhandedly asked.
"What do you mean, how did I feel?"
"Actually, today Brother-in-law almost stole the groom's thunder."
Nawaki lit up while recounting the amusing moments.
It wasn't as if Kawaki intentionally tried to upstage anyone—it was just that Fugaku couldn't compete when it came to looks.
"Fugaku is great in every way, and he really cares about Mikoto."
"It's just his appearance that falls a bit short."
Kushina wasn't afraid to say this even with Mikoto present—of course she'd have no qualms saying it at home.
"You shouldn't judge people by their looks."
Misaki had strong principles. After all, Nawaki couldn't really be considered much of a hunk either.
He was nowhere near Kawaki or Minato's level in the looks department.
"Don't any of you ever feel envious?"
"Never think about getting married yourselves?"
Seeing the conversation drifting, Mito decided it was time to get straight to the point.
Not one of these poor kids had a serious bone in their body—did they still see themselves as kids?
