Chapter 388 - Chapter 388: The Twenty-Three Days – Part 1

The next day, Kawaki and Natsuki arrived at the Senju family estate early in the morning.

Behind them followed a large group of servants from the Hatake household, making for an impressive sight.

As soon as they entered through the gate, they saw hired housekeepers already cleaning, while Mito busied herself directing operations.

Since this wedding was being held on the Senju's domain, she was determined to keep the compound spotless.

"Grandma, my sister-in-law and I brought people to help out."

"You can give us any instructions you need."

Kawaki and Natsuki stepped forward, and Mito greeted them warmly.

"Lady Mito."

Natsuki addressed Mito without hesitation, already quite familiar with her.

"Well then, I won't hold back with formalities."

"Once the cleaning is done, we can start decorating. You two should handle the shopping."

"You've both gone through this before, so you know what's needed."

Mito wasted no time assigning tasks.

She even pulled out her wallet—she hated making others work without paying them.

"Grandma, there's no need for that."

"You'd basically be slapping me in the face."

"After all, Nawaki isn't just your grandson—he's my little brother too."

Kawaki quickly stopped her. He held fast to tradition.

"Haha, well then Grandma won't insist."

"Rope is lucky to have such a capable brother-in-law."

The Hatake family's wealth was plain for everyone to see, so Mito decided not to argue further.

If Kawaki had been broke, there was no way she'd have accepted it.

"Now now, what are you saying? We're all one family."

"You all stay here and follow Lady Mito's orders."

"Sis, let's head out."

After organizing the people he'd brought along, Kawaki left with Natsuki toward the market.

Once they were gone, Mito assigned tasks to the remaining servants before resuming her rounds.

Kawaki and Natsuki were gone the entire day, finally returning only as the sun dipped below the horizon—arms laden with goods.

They carried three massive storage scrolls packed to the brim, and when released, their contents spilled out across half the courtyard.

"You two really do shop like there's no tomorrow."

Tsunade showed up after finishing work, shocked beyond words—did they buy out the whole store?

"A few extra items? Nothing to worry about—I can afford it."

Kawaki smirked arrogantly while flipping his hair, leaning into the rich-kid act.

"We just bought a couple different models since she couldn't decide."

Natsuki had trouble choosing, so Kawaki simply told them to pack it all up. He didn't want to waste time.

To him, the cost of these things was barely worth mentioning.

"Pfft, rich boy," Tsunade muttered, kicking him lightly, annoyed as ever.

"All right, enough flirting. Let's eat."

Mito chimed in as if watching an amusing performance—those two were definitely made for each other.

"Coming right up, Grandma!"

Kawaki responded instantly, eagerly following Mito toward the dining hall.

"That guy's got zero shame."

Tsunade sighed, rubbing her temples. After all these years, Kawaki still hadn't changed—still always craving attention.

"I know the feeling. I've got one at home too."

Natsuki empathized, and the two shared a look of mutual understanding—and exasperation.

"Come on. Let's eat."

Tsunade sighed and walked alongside Natsuki.

It was a rather lively day for the Senju family, as Mito had specially arranged a grand feast.

During the meal, Nawaki and Misaki kept thanking everyone, and Kushina chimed in—clearly a little envious herself.

"We're all family here—we don't need to be formal with each other. Your brother-in-law will make sure this wedding is nothing short of magnificent."

"You two have nothing to worry about—just focus on sharing the ceremonial sake."

In high spirits and having one too many drinks, Kawaki readily took full responsibility.

"You all heard what your brother-in-law said—just sit back and enjoy yourselves."

Tsunade could see that Nawaki and Misaki were filled with hope—but also nerves.
