Chapter 404 - Chapter 404: Shared Vision

Three full days passed before Kushina finally convinced Misaki after a lot of convincing.

At this point, the candidate for the Nine-Tails Jinchūriki had been preliminarily decided.

Kushina didn't choose to tell Nawaki—her earlier words were just talk.

She knew it wasn't her place to bring it up directly.

Since Grandma herself remained silent, why should she butt in?

"What've you and Kushina been whispering about lately?"

Nawaki asked, pulling Misaki close beneath the blankets. He still didn't know anything—not a clue.

"I don't know what she's going on about."

"She insisted I chat with her."

Misaki nestled her cheek against Nawaki's chest, nuzzling closer naturally.

"Crazy girl—only Minato could put up with her."

Nawaki teased with a grin on his face.

"That's because Minato has good taste."

Misaki gave Nawaki an annoyed glance, defending her close friend.

"Like his taste is any better? I'm way ahead."

As Nawaki spoke, a proud grin spread across his face. He even lifted a finger to tilt Misaki's chin upward.

"Such a smartass."

Misaki batted his hand away, her gloom from the past few days finally lifting.

"Heh heh~"

Nawaki chuckled foolishly, his hand trailing across Misaki's stomach under the blanket.

"Stop laughing like a fool. You've got a mission tomorrow."

Misaki caught Nawaki's hand and shifted into a cozier position before closing her eyes.

"Goodnight~"

Nawaki turned sideways, snugly hugging the person beside him as he drifted off with a satisfied smile.

Not everyone got a peaceful night's sleep, but dawn always comes.

When Kawaki arrived at the Senju compound with two companions, Nawaki had already left.

"Sister, Brother-in-law."

"Grandma is waiting inside the quiet room."

Opening the door to the lab, Misaki lingered her gaze on Minato a moment longer, but didn't ask a word.

Without another word, she turned around and led the way forward.

As Kushina's fiancé, Minato's arrival wasn't unexpected.

She figured her sister and brother-in-law must have brought him for a reason.

"Don't worry, Kushina won't have any problems."

Kawaki noticed Misaki's guilt and concern and took the initiative to comfort her.

After all, not everyone could be as indifferent to becoming a Jinchūriki as Tsunade was.

"Grandma introduced us earlier... It was terrifying."

The memory made Misaki's face pale slightly.

Even the Nine-Tails sealed by Lady Mito gave off overwhelming pressure—how could she possibly not feel worried?

"What happened to Kushina?"

Minato's voice carried a hint of impatience; he didn't know anything either, just like Nawaki.

Today, if Kawaki hadn't specifically called him, he should have been out on a mission.

"Don't worry, she's fine."

Tsunade didn't intend to explain— they'd get to it soon enough.

"Worry less, speak less."

"Just remember what I said—you only need to nod when necessary."

Kawaki caught the look Minato gave, then returned his gaze ahead.

"Got it, Teacher."

Minato nodded, tucking his questions aside. He could tell from Kawaki that Kushina wasn't in immediate danger.

"That thing isn't scary at all."

"Just relax."

Kawaki said firmly, somehow managing to calm Misaki down.

There was no denying—the title "God of the Ninja World" still held immense weight.

Minato, however, was completely clueless, unable to make heads or tails of his teacher's words.

After walking a short distance, the four arrived in front of a quiet room.

As they slid open the door, they found Kushina kneeling respectfully across from Mito.

"You're here."

With her usual youthful charm, Mito greeted them casually.

"Grandma."

They all greeted her before taking their seats.

When Kushina saw Minato, she was clearly shocked. After all, she hadn't told him anything about becoming a Jinchūriki.

Once he found out, there'd be hell to pay.

And if she was scolded for intentionally hiding it, she wouldn't even dare to defend herself.

"Now that we've decided it'll be Kushina."

"Let's discuss the exact timing then."

Mito spoke as if discussing everyone's plans—but in reality, she was calmly deciding the date of her own death.

Yet she remained unfazed, even offering a faint smile.

"A little later. Give Kushina more time to prepare."

Tsunade immediately proposed postponing it—even a few extra days would help.

"Later means how much later exactly?"

Mito fixed Tsunade with a piercing gaze, half-smiling.

Did she really think such a petty ploy would work on her?

"I…"

Tsunade hadn't expected such a direct counter-question and momentarily froze.

Her eyes darted to Kawaki for support.

Kawaki smoothly took charge of the conversation, cutting straight to the heart of the matter.

Minato's pupils suddenly constricted. Putting two and two together from Kawaki's previous words, he had already guessed the truth.

Meanwhile, Kushina kept her head bowed, too terrified to meet Minato's eyes.

"Within three months."

Mito didn't sound overly confident—it should be more than enough time for her.

"Three… months."

Kawaki frowned slightly. Timing-wise, it might actually be pretty tight.

"Then at the very least, set it three months from today."

Tsunade quickly jumped in, hoping for as long a delay as possible.

"Fine, I'll play along with whatever you prefer."

"We'll set it for exactly three months from today."

Mito readily agreed. This minor request was easy enough to fulfill.

"Grandma, there's another matter I'd like to discuss with you."

Kawaki suddenly turning serious caused Mito to pause briefly.

"Go ahead."

As Mito responded, everyone's attention shifted toward Kawaki.

"The Nine-Tailed Fox's power is simply too overwhelming for Kushina."

"So I was wondering—is there any possibility~"

"Of splitting the Nine-Tails into two parts? Wouldn't that make it easier to control, while also causing less damage to her body?"

Kawaki gestured as he explained. This idea had been planned out well in advance, and he finally felt ready to bring it up.

The Tailed Beasts originated as unique entities created by the Sage of Six Paths when he split the Ten-Tails. Even within the original plot, the Nine-Tails was indeed split into Yin and Yang halves.

All of this clearly indicated that dividing a Tailed Beast was indeed feasible.

The only thing holding Kawaki back was that he couldn't figure out a real way to split the Nine-Tails just yet.

In the original plot, Minato sacrificed his life using the Dead Demon Consuming Seal to split the Nine-Tails into two halves.

But doing that now would definitely be impractical.

Although the Dead Demon Consuming Seal was a forbidden sealing technique inherited from the Uzumaki Clan, and Mito certainly knew it,

as a Jinchūriki, she couldn't perform it herself.

"Your idea isn't wrong."

"But have you considered this— even if we split the Nine-Tails in two, who would take the second half?"

"If you're thinking about giving it to Misaki, then what was the point in them arguing for days on end?"

Mito agreed with Kawaki's logic, but she still believed Kushina could handle containing the full Nine-Tails.

"Of course not Misaki."

"Give it to this boy. He and Kushina are deeply connected, and his body is definitely resilient enough."

Kawaki pointed at Minato, eagerly revealing his ultimate plan.

If he could actually witness the living Minato enter Sage Mode, it would make up for his regrets from watching Naruto back then.

Meanwhile, Minato's pupils shrank in shock again.

He'd thought it was just another ordinary day, so how did things turn out so explosively?

He swallowed hard, recalling Kawaki's advice to listen more and speak less.

Kushina and Misaki gaped in shock—this choice left them both stunned.

"Can he really handle it?"

Even Mito looked doubtful. Tsunade furrowed her brows as well.

She acknowledged Minato as an extraordinary genius, but she also understood the advantages the Uzumaki Clan possessed in physical constitution.

"What do you mean 'can he handle it'? Of course he can!"

Kawaki was practically slapping his chest to guarantee it.

The Minato from the original story could enter Sage Mode—surely he was qualified to be a Jinchūriki?

No way in this life!

Minato stared at Kawaki blankly, feeling as though his teacher believed in him more than he did in himself.

Could I really be that impressive?

Instinctively pinching the inner side of his thigh, Minato sucked in a sharp breath through clenched teeth from the pain.

So this wasn't just a dream after all!!
