At least now she had her lawyer's license, which meant she could finally return to the job she loved!
"I'll go with you. I drove here today, so it'll be easier," Josephine offered immediately.
The two of them headed straight to the real estate agency.
Rachel's requirements were modest, so it didn't take long before they found a place that seemed suitable.
They viewed the apartment in the morning and, by afternoon, signed the lease with the landlord.
At $700 a month, the price was manageable. The location wasn't bad either, supermarkets and snack shops nearby made everyday life more convenient.
But Josephine frowned. The neighborhood seemed sketchy, filled with all sorts of shady characters. Her chest tightened with worry for Rachel's safety.
Rachel, however, brushed it off. "It's not like I'm going to live here forever. This is just temporary until I stabilize my income. Besides, I'll try to stay in most nights. I'll be fine."
