"No need, I can handle this little pain without going to the hospital," Rachel quickly replied.
"Drive," Jeffrey said coldly to the driver.
The driver started the car and headed toward the hospital. Rachel knew that once Jeffrey made a decision, he would stick to it.
So, she stopped arguing. Since there was no way to avoid it, she would just have to accept it. After all, over the years, she had learned to endure and accept.
Her sudden silence surprised him a bit. Inside the car, she sat quietly, her face slightly pale, brows furrowed.
Her almond-shaped eyes were half-closed, and her hands rested on her knees, the veins on the back of her hands subtly protruding, as if she were suppressing her pain.
"Does it hurt?" he couldn't help but ask.
"Not really, it's bearable," she replied softly.
Compared to the pain she had experienced from standing for so long a few days ago, today's discomfort was nothing.
