Time seemed to stretch on forever. When the kiss finally ended, Rachel gasped for air, her chest heaving. Her long hair was disheveled, and a deep blush stained her cheeks.
Her usually calm, almond-shaped eyes were now wide, finally seeing him clearly. The haze was gone, replaced by a fiery awareness.
Even though her gaze burned with pure anger, it only made her more captivating to him.
He raised a hand, gently brushing the stray hairs from her face. Then he leaned close to her ear, his voice a husky, possessive whisper. "You can't fall for Garrett Vincent..."
That was it. He would never allow her to love anyone but him. Only him—Jeffrey!
A shiver of defiance and fear ran down her spine. "Who I choose to love is my own—"
But before she could finish, his lips crashed against hers again, brutally silencing all her protests.
