Chapter 2 - The First

The abandoned church stood as a relic of forgotten faith—dusty pews, shattered stained glass, and lingering echoes of ancient rituals. It was here that Davina Claire, once a Harvest girl, had been hidden away by Marcel to protect her from the witches who sought to complete the sacrificial rite.

Davina stood at the center, her posture guarded, eyes wary. She had been chosen for the Harvest—a ritual where four young witches were to be sacrificed to restore the coven's connection to their Ancestors. Davina was the last to be offered, but Marcel intervened, saving her and inadvertently imbuing her with the collective power of the other three girls who had already been sacrificed.

"I know what they did to you," I said, stepping into the dim light filtering through the broken windows. "They promised you rebirth, but it was a lie. They sought power, not your salvation."

She looked at me, skepticism etched on her face. "And you? What do you seek?"

"To offer you a choice," I replied. "Freedom from their manipulations. Power that is truly yours."

I extended my wrist, the skin breaking to reveal the potent blood beneath. "Drink. Become something more."

She hesitated, then stepped forward, pressing her lips to the wound. The transformation was immediate. Her body convulsed as the vampire nature took hold, intertwining with her innate magic.

As she collapsed, I caught her, easing her to the ground. "It's alright. Let it happen."

Moments later, her eyes opened—glowing with a new intensity. She was reborn, a hybrid of witch and vampire.

Then, a sudden stillness enveloped the church. The air grew heavy, and a voice resonated within my mind.

"She is not merely a hybrid. She is the daughter of Lucifer Morningstar."

The revelation struck me with the force of a tempest.

"Before his fall, Lucifer walked among humans. In a moment of compassion, he fathered a child with a witch. That child is Davina."

I looked down at her, now standing with newfound strength. The power emanating from her was unlike anything I'd felt before.

"She is part of your sireline now," the voice continued, "but her essence is unique. A being of magic, immortality, and celestial heritage."

Davina met my gaze. "What is it? What's wrong?"

I masked my astonishment. "Nothing. You're… extraordinary."

She tilted her head, a hint of a smile playing on her lips. "So, what now?"

I returned her smile, a plan already forming in my mind. "Now, we see what you're truly capable of."
