As I made my way back to my hotel room, anticipation surged within me. In the dim light, I carefully retrieved the spirit sword from its resting place in my space ring, cradling it in my hands. The exterior gleamed with an almost ethereal beauty, its surface unmarred by time or battle. However, upon closer inspection, I knew the truth: both the blade itself and the spirit dwelling within it bore deep scars from past conflicts. The sword's body, though elegant in appearance, was in dire need of repair. Fixing it would demand both patience and skill; I would need to acquire precious ores that could only be found through serendipitous luck and diligent searching.
However, the real challenge lay with the sword spirit. Restoring it was a more daunting task entirely, requiring the rarest of spiritual treasures. In the original game's storyline, Jack had uncovered a few of these elusive items, but those were merely breadcrumbs—insufficient to fully mend the spirit's fractured essence.
"I need to find the remaining resources myself to repair it," I whispered to the empty room, frustration evident in my voice. This realization weighed heavily on my mind and was also a significant factor in my hesitation to confront Jack just yet. He was the one favored by this world, the original protagonist with his own destiny to fulfill, making him an invaluable tool in the search for treasures. I couldn't afford to let him be dead or make him worry towards me—at least not yet.
Shaking off these thoughts, I steered my focus back to my primary goal. "Let's set aside the sword for now," I reminded myself, realizing that time was of the essence. My first priority was to rescue Emily, the very reason I had embarked on this journey. Unlike the original storyline where Jack swooped in to save her, I was determined to take matters into my own hands. I needed to ensure that when her time came, she would not only be safe but also find solace in my presence. That pivotal moment was supposed to happen in just two days, but I had no intention of waiting. I would act sooner, stepping in to reclaim her from the clutches of fate before it was too late.
With determination fueling my every thought, I planned my next moves, like what to in different situations and if Jack came there how to stop him. It's fine if those situations doesn't occur but if it did then I will be prepared
As I completed my preparations with a meticulous eye, I felt a mix of anticipation and urgency creeping into my veins. The only step left was to await the dawning of the next day—the moment that would launch me into the heart of danger and hope. I could hardly contain my eagerness; once the sun rose, I would be ready to embark on a mission that held the promise of salvation.
When the sun finally broke through the horizon, casting golden rays across the cityscape, I vacated my hotel room and made my way outside. Each step felt like it carried the weight of the world as I set my course southeast. That was the direction of the dark, tangled forest where Emily was being held captive, shrouded in shadows and dread.
Emily's captors were no ordinary criminals; they hailed from a sinister organization known as the Dark Art Legion, frequently referred to as Dark Art among those acquainted with its nefarious reputation. Within this malevolent hierarchy, however, the individuals responsible for her kidnapping were the lowest of the low—ranked below even the bronze core realm. They were desperate souls entangled in a wicked web that led to the subjugation of the innocent.
The horrific truth was that Emily had been taken for a grotesque sacrificial ritual known as the Dark Yin Blood Ritual, a rite so repulsive and forbidden that even the darkest of sects would avert their gaze in shame. As the name suggests, this ritual was a malevolent act perpetrated solely by men, while women were relegated to the role of the sacrificial lambs, forced to endure immense suffering and humiliation. The chilling reality of the ceremony dictated that not only were these women expected to provide their yin energy, but their very blood would be extracted, resulting in their untimely deaths. In the perverse alchemy of this ritual, the male participants experienced a surge in their cultivation—an insatiable hunger for power that would ultimately cost innocent lives.
My thoughts raced with urgency; I needed to reach that damned forest as quickly as possible. Time was of the essence, and every second lost could mean the difference between life and death for Emily. "I must get there faster," I urged myself, pushing my body to pick up the pace, fueled by an unyielding determination to save her from the clutches of darkness. Each footfall echoed my resolve, resonating with the beating of my heart as it drove me forward into the unknown.
As I ventured deeper into the forested area, I quickly realized that this was no ordinary woodland. Contrary to the tales of monstrous creatures lurking in the shadows, this particular stretch of land found itself surprisingly devoid of such threats. Its proximity to the bustling city had led to a thorough cleansing by local officials, ensuring that any malevolent beings had retreated. However, despite its cultivated appearance, this secluded spot was seldom visited by the townspeople, granting it an eerie air—the perfect sanctuary for dark forces and nefarious individuals to carry out their clandestine activities away from the prying eyes of society.
With an urgent mission burning in my heart, I had come to this forsaken place a full day earlier, driven by the desperate need to locate where those shadowy figures had imprisoned Emily. Yet, as I roamed through the underbrush, my search felt aimless, shrouded in uncertainty. Time seemed to stretch on endlessly, each hour weighed down by the gravity of my task as I scoured every nook and cranny for any sign of her. The sun dipped below the horizon, and as darkness draped itself over the land, a sense of foreboding filled the air.
After what felt like an eternity of five or six hours spent meticulously combing the landscape for clues, a series of hushed whispers broke through the suffocating silence of the night. My heart quickened at the sound, and I moved with a blend of caution and determination, my senses heightened. I quietly navigated toward the source of the murmurs, my curiosity piquing as I caught sight of a clearing beyond the dense thicket.
Emerging from the bushes, I beheld an unusual scene: an open space devoid of trees, bathed in the silvery glow of the moonlight. Small, rudimentary huts crafted from weathered wood dotted the area, and around them congregated a handful of shadowy figures, their movements furtive and furtively conspiratorial. Yet, at the center of it all was a stone altar draped in ominous dark cloth, casting an unsettling aura over the gathering—as if it were a harbinger of the sinister events that lay ahead.
Hunched low, I cautiously peeked through the undergrowth, and a wave of dread washed over me. Before me, a circle of hooded figures loomed around the altar, their faces swallowed by shadows. Flickering torches cast eerie silhouettes that danced among them. In the center, bound and gagged, was Emily.
Seeing her in such a vulnerable state stirred an inferno within my chest. The sword at my side pulsed with latent power, urging me onward; this was my moment.
Like a predator on the prowl, I examined the disturbing scene. There were five figures, more than I had expected, but they were completely fixated on the altar. Their voices melded into a low, guttural chant, creating an atmosphere heavy with an ominous threat. I knew I had to move fast.
Taking a steadying breath, I withdrew the sword from its sheath. The blade shimmered in the flickering torchlight, sharpening my focus. With my grip firm around the hilt, I carefully emerged from the brush, stepping toward the clearing with purpose.
"You will not take her!" I shouted, my voice steady despite the adrenaline coursing through my veins.
