Chapter 5 - Exposed and vulnerable

After discussing the situation with Ella, Jasmine decided that she needed to talk to her family and explain the situation to them. "I'll stop by home later, Ella," she said in a firm voice. "I need to talk to my dad". Ella nodded, her expression understanding. "Of course, Jasmine. Keep me updated." Jasmine smiled, and nodded. "I will." "The meeting with the PR team is starting soon" Ella reminded as she made to leave . Just then, a call came in from the reception informing them that the CEO was around and they needed to welcome him because it's his first time in the company since his appointment. With that, she left the office.

Meanwhile, back in the reception area of Anderson Entertainment, a tall, imposing figure walked in. Mr. Sebastian Anderson, the CEO of the company, dressed in a tailored black suit, his white shirt crisp and clean. His deep brown eyes seemed to bore into the souls of everyone he passed, his chiseled face, a mask of confidence and authority. His dark hair was perfectly styled, and his sharp jawline looked like it was carved out of granite. As he walked, his presence seemed to command attention, and all the employees bowed their heads, greeting him respectfully. Some of them couldn't help but wonder why he was here today, given his rare appearances at the company since he was appointed as the new CEO. One of the employees, a young woman, whispered to her colleague, "I haven't seen him here in months. I wonder what he's doing here today." Her colleague shrugged, not looking away from the CEO. "No idea, but I think we should get back to work." Sebastian's eyes scanned the reception area, his gaze lingering on the employees before moving on. He seemed to be searching for someone, his expression unreadable. As he walked towards the elevator, one of the employees stepped forward, his voice respectful. "Good morning, Mr. Anderson. Welcome to Anderson Entertainment." Sebastian nodded and smiled. "Good morning," he said, his voice deep and smooth. "Thank you."

As the elevator door clinked open, Jasmine stepped out, her gaze falling on Sebastian, who was engaged in a conversation with an employee. The employee's face was alight with respect as he welcomed Sebastian to the company. Jasmine's mind began to whirl with questions. What was he doing here? And why were they treating him with such deference?

The employee, noticing Jasmine's arrival, attempted to introduce her to Sebastian. "Mr. Anderson, this is Jasmine, one of our talented artists signed under the company." But Sebastian's attention was already focused on Jasmine, a hint of a smile playing on his lips. He dismissed the employee's introduction with a wave of his hand. "Darling, I didn't know you were planning a welcome party for me," he said, his voice low and smooth. "I must say, I'm delighted."

Jasmine's face was a picture of shock as her eyebrows raised in surprise. What was going on? Before she could process her thoughts, Sebastian took her hand, his touch sending a spark through her body. "Allow me to introduce myself," he said, his voice filled with amusement. "This is my wife, Mrs. Jasmine Anderson."

The room fell silent, the employees' faces frozen in stunned silence. Jasmine's mouth hung open, but she couldn't say a word . She hadn't expected him to be the CEO of the company, and she certainly hadn't expected him to announce their marriage in such a public manner.

Cameras started flashing, and the employees' faces lit up with excitement. "Is this for real?" someone whispered, their voice barely audible. Sebastian's expression remained calm as his lips curled up in smile. He seemed to be enjoying the commotion he'd caused. Jasmine, on the other hand, looked like she'd been blindsided. Her face was pale, and her expression was a mix of shock and confusion. As the cameras continued to flash, Sebastian let the curious eyes take more pictures, as he was grinning from ear to ear . After a few moments, he took Jasmine's hand, his touch firm but gentle, and led her to the elevator. They stepped inside, and the doors closed behind them, shutting out of the chaos and commotion.

They rode to his office in silence. Jasmine's frustration and confusion boiled over. The last thing she wanted was a public relationship, and now, she's even married to her boss. This was too much, and this man, he didn't ask for her opinion, he's acting on his own. She suddenly got angry again. Why is he toying with her emotion, in fact, no one is concerned about how she'd feel. They are just doing whatever they like without caring about how she'll feel. As soon as they got to his office, she demanded to know what was going on, her voice was low and urgent. "What's going on, Sebastian? Why did you announce our marriage like that?" Sebastian's expression remained calm, his eyes crinkling at the corners as he smiled. "Relax, Jasmine. It's for the best. Trust me."

Jasmine's face twisted in a mixture of anger and bewilderment. She felt like her life was spiraling out of control, and she didn't know how to stop it. "You can't just spring something like this on me," she said, her voice rising. "I deserve to know what's going on."

Sebastian's smile faltered for a moment, and he regarded her with a thoughtful expression. But before he could respond, he seemed to change his mind. "Let's focus on more pressing matters," he said, his voice smooth. "Leon has already found out who was behind the escapades of last night."

Jasmine's curiosity was piqued, and she forgot about her questions for the moment. "Who was it?" she asked, her voice eager. Sebastian nodded, his expression serious. "Let's take a look."

He pulled out a tablet and showed her a footage from the bar. It showed an unfamiliar man pouring something into her drink. Jasmine's eyes widened in shock as she watched the footage. A wave of fear washed over her as she realized how vulnerable she had been. "Who is this?" she demanded, her voice shaking slightly.

Sebastian's expression turned grim. "The man has been arrested, and he's confessed who sent him." Jasmine's heart was racing as she waited for the answer. Sebastian's voice was low and serious. "It was Ivy, your sister."

Jasmine felt as though she had been punched in the gut. She couldn't believe her sister would stoop so low. A mix of emotions swirled inside her - anger, hurt, and betrayal. She couldn't understand why Ivy would do something like this. It wasn't enough that she had betrayed her like that, now this?. Did she think that she won't even find out?. "Why would she do that?" she asked, her voice was low, almost a whisper.

Sebastian's expression turned thoughtful. "Apparently, they wanted to set you up with someone else completely. The plan was to spread the picture and ruin your reputation. But it's a miracle, really, that it was me instead." Jasmine's face reflected her turmoil, her emotions raw and exposed. She felt like she was living in a nightmare, and she didn't know how to wake up. Sebastian's voice brought her back to reality, reassuring her gently. "It's over now, Jasmine. Do you want me to take care of Ivy, making sure that she never bother you?"

"No, I'll do this on my own Thank you"
