Chapter 265: No Idea
Senjutsu Chakra is the fusion of natural energy, physical energy, and spiritual energy.
And if the chakra of the Tailed Beasts is added to it...
"It's very dangerous."
Uzumaki Naruto spoke calmly, but within his mind, a storm of thoughts was brewing—ideas no one had ever dared to try.
"Well… things can't possibly get worse than they already are, right?"
Kurama stood inside the cage, his tone dry.
"Just make sure that if you fail, you take me with you before you die."
There was none of the old ferocity in his voice. Kurama's chakra had long since come under Naruto's control. The once awe-inspiring beast had softened, tamed by years of growth and shared battles.
But even so, the gravity of the situation was clear.
If Naruto couldn't stop the man wielding the Rinnegan... then the only outcome left was death.
For the Tailed Beasts, however, death wasn't truly the end. When slain, their chakra would dissipate and eventually reform with time. Their souls would return from the void, and their physical forms would regenerate.
But if they were absorbed by the Ten-Tails—if their core origins were devoured—then everything changed. Their consciousness would be erased. A true death.
"If it really comes to that… I'll help you leave this world first."
Naruto's voice remained steady as he sat cross-legged, ignoring the suffocating sense of danger approaching from every direction.
He closed his eyes.
When they opened again, the once crimson beast-like irises had changed—returning to the calm, deep blue of a human's.
Golden chakra cloaked his body, adorned with faint inky black clouds, like sacred markings.
Within him, crimson chakra, thick as molten magma, surged through his meridians. Though dense and slow-moving, its flow was steady and powerful.
It was a rare fusion of Senjutsu chakra from the Shikkotsu Forest Sage Mode and the tailed beast chakra from his full transformation—a high-level energy that began to alter even his external appearance.
"Looks like I got lucky after all."
Despite the deadly stakes, Naruto couldn't help but grin. He had speculated on this potential fusion—but now, in practice, it had succeeded.
And that meant hope.
Countless golden arms burst from his back, extending in every direction like divine appendages.
Since his opponent had caught on to his danger-sensing abilities and evaded detection… then he would simply attack everything.
Blanket the entire field—leave nowhere to hide.
---
"To think you can merge Sage Mode and Tailed Beast Transformation in combat… I'll admit, you're a rare combat genius in this world."
Above him, Uchiha Madara observed the glowing figure below, voice calm yet tinged with regret.
"But it's still too crude… to think you'll find me this way."
Had he encountered this boy immediately after resurrection, he might have been surprised.
Naruto's combat awareness, analytical instinct, and self-control had already reached a level rivaling his own. At such a young age, he possessed all the makings of a future legend.
But after witnessing Ryosuke, whose strength surpassed even Madara's expectations, and seeing Might Guy burn his life away with such brilliance that even Madara had to retreat...
Compared to them, the boy below—shining as he was—seemed less dazzling.
---
"Nine-Tailed boy."
Madara's voice rang out from all directions.
"The gap between us… is one of realms. Even if you've climbed one level higher, there are still two more above you."
---
Suddenly—
Black rods rained down from the sky like arrows, dense as a storm.
Then, under Madara's control, they exploded with repulsive force, accelerating violently as they fell.
"Tch—"
Naruto's tailed beast chakra, which had spread outward to scout, stilled.
He looked up. The rods had already surrounded him.
Around his body, Tailed Beast Balls began to form, spinning rapidly as he attempted to counterstrike.
So that's it.
Madara hadn't responded earlier because he had been preparing a trap—to seal him in a single strike.
Boom!
Before Naruto could release a single Tailed Beast Ball, a massive repulsive force crashed down on him.
The incomplete Tailed Beast Ball shattered instantly, swallowed by the shockwave.
Madara had predicted his response. And he was already ready to stop it.
The explosion engulfed the area in dust and debris.
Inside the clouded air, Naruto felt it—one, then another, and another—black rods piercing through his body.
He let out a helpless sigh, even as Kurama roared within.
Because this… was Uchiha Madara.
The ancient, cautious, overwhelming force from an age long gone—now wielding the power of gods.
He felt his chakra begin to slow.
And then… it stopped.
Before he could force the rods out with his chakra, thick chains slammed into him, binding his limbs and locking his body in place.
Then, a sealing force surged into his spiritual space.
It bypassed his physical body and reached straight into the cage—Kurama's cage—sealing the Nine-Tails with terrifying precision.
"Naruto!!"
The fox roared, its body impaled by the massive chain. It trembled with rage and pain.
"Sorry, sorry..."
Naruto gave a sheepish grin, voice faint.
"He's right. The gap in our strength… it's not even close."
He knew it.
If Kurama was extracted, he would die—like every Jinchūriki before him.
But even so, Naruto wasn't afraid.
He had accepted the risk of death since the day he became a ninja. Every trial, every battle only reinforced that resolve.
Still, even now… he continued to think. Searching for a way out.
Bang—
The Ten-Tails tugged violently on the chain, trying to extract the Nine-Tails from Naruto's body.
But the seal held—for now.
Instead of tearing the beast free, the chain slammed Kurama against the iron cage. The entire spiritual world trembled under the impact.
"Oof… Feels like someone reached into my stomach and started yanking out my intestines with their fingers."
Kurama grimaced.
And Naruto, groaning, still found the breath to joke.
"I'd describe it more like… chewing glass while being stabbed repeatedly."
Bang!
Another jolt. The seal groaned.
Kurama and Naruto could both feel it—the iron bars of the cage were starting to bend. Slowly. Dangerously.
"Can you be useful for once? Think of something!"
Kurama bellowed, fury and fear mixing.
Naruto winced.
"I've got no chakra left… no strength…"
His voice trailed off. Blood spilled from his lips in a wet cough.
Within it—fragments of bone. Pieces of lung.
Naruto's body was riddled with black rods, turning him into a human pincushion. Each rod pierced clean through, impaling him like a hedgehog. If not for Sage Mode—and the extraordinary recovery abilities he had possessed since childhood—he likely would have fainted, or even died, long ago.
"Ugh… what's the situation now?"
At that moment, a voice interrupted the silence.
It was calm, male, and laced with confusion.
Then came another voice—firmer, protective.
"Protect Naruto, Kushina!"
---
Naruto: …
The boy who had been calm in the face of death froze completely.
The resolve that allowed him to smile even as life slipped away... suddenly faltered.
His normally steady heart grew chaotic.
"…Something is interfering with the Ten-Tails' extraction."
Standing atop the monstrous creature, Uchiha Madara narrowed his gaze toward the collapsed figure of Uzumaki Naruto below.
His shadow clone had reached its limit, but it had accomplished its purpose.
Below, Naruto lay unconscious.
A massive chain had pierced through his chest and into his spiritual space, but despite the pull, Kurama had not been extracted. Something—some force—was resisting the Ten-Tails' power.
"Obito's chakra signature has disappeared."
Madara turned toward Black Zetsu.
"I can't sense the White Zetsu I embedded in him either," Zetsu said coldly. "It seems he was killed inside Kamui's dimension."
"The White Zetsu I left inside him was vital. It kept him alive. His organs may have regenerated over the years, but if White Zetsu is removed, his body fails."
He paused.
"Obito has rebelled against us. Hiding, resisting."
"It's good that he's dead now. Less trouble for you, Madara-sama. But whoever killed him must be strong. Strong enough to reach Kamui's dimension—and that could be a problem for our plan."
Black Zetsu's tone was measured, but his anxiety was barely masked. His words were meant to pressure Madara—to hasten the next step of the plan.
The longer they delayed, the greater the risk of interference.
---
Yet Madara remained unshaken.
"I always knew he wasn't ideal."
He crossed his arms, expression unreadable.
"If there had been a better option, I wouldn't have chosen him."
"His heart was weak. Too easily swayed. I tried to mold him, but he was never raised under my teachings. His convictions were fragile, easily broken."
"Only when he wore that mask could he pretend to be resolute."
The glow in Madara's Rinnegan intensified.
"Perhaps through pain and hatred, he could defy reason and act against the world. But eventually… the world would wear him down."
"Once that mask came off, his true self returned. Just another coward clinging to false ideals—just like Hashirama."
There was no anger in his voice.
Just disappointment.
The path of truth is a lonely one.
Madara did not see himself as the only one awake in a world of dreamers. But his will was absolute. No one could sway it. No one could stop him. No one could change his course.
And once more—he felt betrayal.
Expected, yes—but betrayal nonetheless.
He responded by exerting more control over the Ten-Tails.
"ROAAAR!"
The Ten-Tails shrieked, tossing its massive head.
Its tails thrashed like wild branches, leveling the ground around it in an earthquake of destruction.
The chains piercing Naruto's body began to tremble violently.
"The Fourth Hokage!"
"Kushina!"
Inside Naruto's spiritual space—
Two figures now stood in front of the Nine-Tails' cage.
Uzumaki Naruto's parents.
"I don't know what's going on, but it looks like... someone's trying to steal my son's stuff!"
The woman's voice was fierce, fiery.
With red hair like flames and a sharp tone that didn't match her sweet features, Uzumaki Kushina grabbed the massive chain with bare hands.
"Taking things from a child, huh?! I don't care who you are, old man—I'll punch you to death!"
The moment she spoke, dozens of glowing golden chains burst from her back, wrapping around the Ten-Tails' chain in defiance.
Her Uzumaki sealing technique surged, fighting to counteract the Ten-Tails' overwhelming power.
But even with that strength, the force was far too great. She could only resist a sliver of the pull.
"Minato! Do something!"
Kushina's body, formed from sealed chakra, began to flicker.
She was fading.
Behind her, Namikaze Minato was reinforcing the iron cage's seals, his own form shimmering with transience.
"That monster outside… it's Uchiha Madara."
His voice was grim.
"We're out of time… this is beyond us."
"Beyond us? Don't give me that crap!"
Kushina snapped.
"He's my son!"
Her voice cracked with fury.
"If I were still alive, I wouldn't care if he was Uchiha Madara or the Sage of Six Paths! If he lays a hand on my baby, I'll punch him into next week!"
Her body trembled as it continued to fade.
Tears streamed down her cheeks, mixing with snot and saliva. Her face contorted—but she didn't care.
She held the chain tighter.
Minato, too, felt a fury he had rarely known.
His calm demeanor broke.
A desire to kill surged within him. To break free from death itself and tear Madara apart for what he was doing to their child.
The intensity of their emotions was far stronger than the night of the Nine-Tails' attack.
Their chakra, on the brink of vanishing, instead deepened—darkening.
Fueled by resentment and love, it surged with fresh strength.
Even Kurama, the once-hostile fox, ceased his roars.
Silently, he began pulling on the cage from within—joining the effort to resist the Ten-Tails' pull.
---
"...You don't have to be so sad."
At that moment, a quiet, hoarse voice echoed through the spiritual space.
Naruto.
"For me… death is just another way to live."
His tone was gentle, but burdened.
"I'm sorry. I didn't know how to face either of you. So I kept hiding… watching from nearby."
"It's just… I never knew what having parents meant. So I didn't know how to talk to you."
