Chapter 6 - Kartavya

"How was your day, Jeevan?" asked Jaivik

"Ah... it was... alright. I guess....."

"What about you, Jaivik? questioned Janhavi

 "Mine was good."

"That's good. Mine was quite good too."

"I'm feeling tired, finally it's bedtime!" Jeevan said with a sigh.

It didn't took him more than five minutes to sleep. Jaivik was asleep too while Janhavi was praying to the God and paying her gratitude for everything she had. Oh God! Help me, I am too confused. What's happening to us? Please help me to see the clear path, to walk on the right path. And soon she was asleep too. She had been pushing herself very hard for a long time. She was crestfallen but never let it come on her face. She was quite good at hiding her true feelings. Jaivik was good at it too. Though, they wanted Jeevan to cope up from the painful truth but this didn't go well with him. He started to feel like Jaivik and Janhavi had forgotten their parents. Which made him feel more disheartened. Soon there was a loud thud. They all woke up. A portal was opening, the world was changing but this time it was different. It looked very pleasant. Some people came out. Oh lord God! They had wings and were flying in the air.

"What are you? What do you want from us?" asked the lion hearted girl.

"We just want you all to be one of us."

"What good will it give you!" said Jeevan with the most gloomy face ever.

 "None of your business."

"Just leave us alone." said Jaivik.

All in vain! Those creatures started hunting them. They all were just running and running in the hope of escaping. All of a sudden the small piece of land under their feet was floating in the air. Their was no place they could hide in to save their identity. They were surrounded from all directions. Is that it? Are we doomed forever? Is this how all of this will end? All the negative thoughts jumped into their minds. They closed their eyes. Janhavi held her brothers as tight as she could. Jeevan and Jaivik kept weeping in their sister's arms.

"Stop it! What's going on here? Will anyone tell me?" was a sweet voice.

 All the creatures started bowing.

"I don't want any false respect. All I want is the answer."

"You see prince..... we were trying to.... convert..... them into angles."

"How dare you do that? Leave us alone. And that's a command."

"Oh mister! What do you mean by us! Please explain yourself first!" shouted the young girl

"Please! Janhavi! Trust me! I will not harm any of you. That's a promise."

"How do you know my name?"

By this time all the other creatures had left.

"I am the prince of Angles and...."

"And that's how Angles act! Right!" said Jeevan intrupting in between.

 "Ignore him!" was Jaivik.

"I am really sorry for our behavior. My dear Jeevan! You see we are also living beings just like you. We are not God. It's normal for anyone to do mistakes. I know ours is a big one. But please forgive us."

"Yeah! Sure!" said Jeevan without any emotion.

"The thing is.... you all are special. You have abilities that no one else has. You are really lucky."

"What makes you say we are lucky? We are so... unfortunate. It's like... we are cursed." cried Jaivik.

"I am really sorry Jaivik! I didn't meant to hurt you. I really am sorry!"

 "Please continue." was Jaivik.

"So my people wanted to turn you into an angle for prosperity and trust me, I never suggested such a thing."

"This does not explain how you got to know our names." said Janhavi

"It's easy. I have observed you quite a bit from the angle world. I will help you as much as I can and I should."

"What's your name, prince?" was Jeevan.

"Kartavya! Treat me as a friend not as a prince. I am not that honorable to be treated as one. I will guide you to the path you are destined for. Are you still furious on me?"

"Not in the last." was Jaivik.

Suddenly Kartavya disappeared and everything turned back to normal.
