Chapter 180 - Chapter 182: The Butterfly Effect, Uchiha Sasuke's Mangekyō Sharingan

"Hokage-sama, the messengers who delivered the invitation letters have returned."

Karin, dressed in a black suit, spoke respectfully to Izayoi, who was seated in a chakra-bead-formed sofa chair. Her beautiful eyes held a subtle smile.

Izayoi didn't look up, still studying a scroll in his hand. "How did those guys respond?" he asked.

Karin replied, "The Third Tsuchikage, Ohnoki, and the Acting Kazekage, Chiyo, both declined politely, citing their age. But they'll be sending their sole candidates for the next Tsuchikage and Kazekage to observe Konoha's Chunin Exam."

"Just as expected," Izayoi finally lifted his head. "What about the Hidden Cloud Village and Hidden Rain Village?"

"The Hidden Cloud Village declined," Karin said with a playful smile. "Because during the second round of the exam, Hanabi killed all of their ninjas. The Fourth Raikage was furious, saying we humiliated them."

"The messenger who delivered the invitation… was he alright?"

"No problems at all. Even with a hundred times more courage, they wouldn't dare touch our messengers," Karin said, her posture straight and proud.

"So even those brutes know pain now." Izayoi chuckled.

"Hehe… if they knew the truth, I bet their expressions would be priceless," Karin giggled.

Ever since Karin and Shion learned that Izayoi was 'Otsutsuki Toneri', both were full of envy toward Hinata.

Turns out, love that descends from the heavens can't compare to the childhood sweetheart who grew up together, fell in love, and ran toward each other.

Being kidnapped on her third birthday, only for the Hidden Cloud Village to pay the ultimate price years later—this was the best birthday gift Izayoi had ever given Hinata. The destruction of an entire village far surpassed a simple necklace.

"And what about Hidden Rain?" Izayoi asked again.

"They accepted the invitation. The leader of the Akatsuki organization will personally attend the Chunin Exam in Konoha," Karin answered seriously. She looked at Izayoi with concern. "Hokage-sama, do you really want to invite someone that powerful to Konoha?"

It was no wonder Karin was worried. Super-standard combat forces were nothing like the Five Kage.

Uchiha Madara had only just left Konoha, and the whole village was in panic. Even the Fire Daimyo pressured Tsunade into abdicating early.

If a Five Kage visited another major village, at most they'd be worn down in battle like the Third Raikage facing ten thousand rock ninjas.

But if someone like Uchiha Madara or Nagato came to cause trouble, the best-case scenario would be a destroyed village like Hidden Cloud. Worst case? Everyone—ninja and civilians alike—would be wiped out.

The Valley of the End, the Rain Country, and the Fire Country Forest were still wastelands, left ruined by battles between super-tier forces.

But Izayoi smiled and said, "Don't worry. Your clansman is a good guy. He won't cause any trouble."

His wood clones monitored both Nagato and Uchiha Madara daily. Nobody in the ninja world knew them better than Izayoi.

Nagato had outgrown his radical ideals, and Uchiha Madara had let go of the Infinite Tsukuyomi plan. They had both recovered from their Chuunibyou.

Their dream was peace and saving the world. They wouldn't kill unless provoked.

And if someone were truly in danger, they'd even help.

If that weren't the case, Izayoi wouldn't leave them be.

Uchiha Madara, now fully recovered, was out searching for traces of Otsutsuki Isshiki with Obito.

Nagato, with Konan, used his reputation and strength to control the Akatsuki and manage Hidden Rain, bringing peace and happiness to its people.

Under their mutual checks and balances, the big nations were more cautious, and the small countries more well-behaved. No major village had received high-level commissions in ages—it was all escort missions now.

Nagato, awakened from his dream of conquest, now found joy in this peaceful life and wanted to maintain it forever.

That was why Izayoi had invited him.

"Yeah!" Karin nodded, her confidence restored as she thought about Izayoi's strength and his 'Otsutsuki Toneri' identity.

Squeak—

The office door opened.

Hinata, still wearing her white kimono, not the black secretary suit, entered with Uchiha Sasuke.

"Hokage-sama, Sasuke-kun is here," she said.

Even in the office, Hinata now referred to Izayoi as Hokage-sama.

"Thanks, Hinata." Izayoi smiled, then motioned for Sasuke to sit. "Have a seat."

But Sasuke didn't sit down. Crossing his arms, he smirked, "Should I start calling you Hokage-sama now?"

"Same title as before, or…"

Izayoi smiled and then suddenly added, "Just call me godfather!"

"You bastard—your personality hasn't changed at all!" Sasuke gritted his teeth.

If he could defeat Izayoi, he'd love to teach him a lesson. But considering Izayoi's overwhelming strength and the amount of blackmail he held, Sasuke could only sigh.

"Fine, what did you summon me here for?"

Leaning back in the chair, Izayoi took a glass of water from Hinata and sipped slowly. "When was the last time Team 7 had a mission?"

"Few months ago. Why?"

"Do you know why?"

Izayoi didn't wait for an answer. "Because both you and Naruto have reached ace combat strength. With Sage Mode, you're stronger than Kakashi. Deploying three such forces for ordinary missions is wasteful."

"The Fifth Hokage originally planned to split Teams 7 and 8 after you became all-round Jonin, so you could be more useful."

"But I summoned you today to give you a job."

A faint grin tugged at Izayoi's lips.

"As my adopted son, you must stand above all. So, I created a position just for you—Anbu Chief. You'll command all Anbu squads. Interested?"

Sasuke's eyes widened.

"Anbu Chief? You serious?"

"Of course. No one else is qualified. I only trust you."

Hearing this, a warm current surged through Sasuke's heart.

He recalled countless memories: fishing with Izayoi, getting beaten up, being pranked, taught, mentored, rescued...

Since his family's death, Sasuke had shut himself off.

Only two people ever entered that closed heart: Naruto and Izayoi.

Naruto—his mirror image, his rival.

Izayoi—stronger than Uchiha Itachi, smarter than his father, more caring than both.

Though often pranked, Sasuke deeply admired Izayoi—more than he'd ever admired Itachi.

The proud Uchiha only respected those stronger than themselves. In history, only Hashirama Senju ever truly earned that respect.

Sasuke was no different.

He rarely used the Chidori from Kakashi anymore—he preferred the Storm Release techniques taught by Izayoi.

And only Izayoi could joke with him like a father and son.

Now, entrusted with such an important position, Sasuke was thrilled—even if he wouldn't admit it.

"Hmph… since you have no one else to rely on, I'll help you out of pity," he said smugly.

Hinata and Karin giggled secretly. They knew his tsundere act all too well.

"Thank you very much." Izayoi, for once, didn't tease him.

Then, Izayoi's tone turned serious. "I also called you here to talk about… the truth behind the Uchiha massacre."

The cheerful atmosphere suddenly froze.

Hinata and Karin stood silent.

Sasuke's Sharingan awakened unconsciously. His voice trembled: "The truth of the massacre… what do you mean?"

"This is something only the Hokage is allowed to know." Izayoi said heavily. "I hesitated to tell you… but in the end, I decided—you deserve to know. You're not a puppet."

"I'm going to tell you everything."

Then, Izayoi used a genjutsu to pull Sasuke and Hinata into an illusion space, where he revealed the truth.

The suspicion following the Nine-Tails incident. The forced relocation. The surveillance. The death of Uchiha Shisui. Itachi's double role. Danzo's manipulation. The night of the massacre.

Hinata and Karin were stunned, their eyes misting.

Sasuke stood frozen, staring in disbelief.

When he saw that Itachi had destroyed their family to protect him, his mind went blank.

Dark Yin-style chakra surged from Sasuke's brain to his eyes.

His three-tomoe Sharingan spun wildly.

Crack!

Like glass shattering, the genjutsu world fragmented.

The chakra flooding the Hokage office was immense—but the spells and seals kept it from leaking out.

Time passed.

Finally, Sasuke's eyes stopped spinning.

His eyelids dropped. Blood-tears ran down his face.

When he looked up again—

His eyes shone with a scarlet light.

The three tomoe were gone.

Now in their place… a black sun of six triangles.

The Mangekyō Sharingan.

"What… such powerful chakra and pupil power!" Karin gasped, sensing it through Kagura's Mind Eye.

Even Hinata, her Byakugan now evolved with a new technique, felt pressured.

Izayoi was surprised.

That wasn't the usual hexagram.

It wasn't Amaterasu or Kagutsuchi's Mangekyō.

This… was a butterfly effect.

That eye pattern—why did it feel familiar?

Then it hit him.

Not from this life.

He'd seen it in his previous life.

In the future—Boruto.

This sun-patterned Mangekyō didn't belong to Sasuke.

It belonged to his daughter—Uchiha Sarada.

Damn...

The father awakened the daughter's eyes!?

This butterfly effect is way too insane!
