Their was nothing to do.
Kaelith was really against going outside, after he got over his sickness, he didn't want to experience that again anytime soon.
All he could do was talk to his grandpa, his grandpa would tell him stories about his parents, and he would sometimes talk about when he was a young man, and he would sometimes teach Kaelith how to write.
Kaelith didn't know how his grandpa had learned how to write, but he didn't really care, it was something to pass the time, and that's all he cared about.
And just like that, another day ended, everything was going well, they had an abundance of food and fire wood.

The next morning however, Kaelith was abruptly woken up to the sound of vicious coughing, but it didn't come from him, it came from his grandpa.
Kaelith was extremely worried about his grandpa, because he didn't believe that his grandpa could survive an illness at his age, but the remembered and thought to himself "we still have medicine!"
He was relieved after remembering that, and started to walk over to where he knew his grandpa kept the medicine, but when he pulled the box out, he went numb with fear when he saw that the box was empty!!
