It wasn't strange that Batman was uneasy.
After all, even though Alex looked completely indifferent to the Mother Box, no matter what, it was still sitting in his hand.
"This thing is completely useless to me."
"Only an idiot would want it."
Alex casually tossed the Mother Box back onto the table, as if he were throwing away a piece of trash.
Thud.
Seeing this, the Justice League members finally let out a collective sigh of relief.
At the same time, Alex casually withdrew the immense telekinetic pressure that had been weighing on them.
The moment the pressure vanished, everyone felt their bodies lighten as they regained their freedom.
"Homelander, since you're not here to take the Mother Box, can I assume you're here to help us?"
The Flash spoke as his excitement steadily grew.
The others, however, weren't as optimistic as he was.
Based on what they knew, the Homelander was definitely not the kind of person who helped others out of goodwill—unlike Superman.
"If that's how you want to see it, that's not wrong."
"I am here to deal with Steppenwolf."
To everyone's surprise, Alex nodded and admitted it outright.
Really—life was unpredictable.
Originally, Alex had thought that since Superman hadn't died, the Justice League storyline wouldn't unfold at all.
Who could have known that Mechanical Superman would suddenly appear midway, actually causing Superman to disappear?
As a result, Steppenwolf had come to Earth once again.
And Alex had once more received a system mission.
The mission was to help the Justice League eliminate Steppenwolf.
The key point was the prefix—help the Justice League.
That was the real reason Alex had appeared in this secret base.
Otherwise, he could have killed Steppenwolf by himself—why would he need the Justice League dragging him down?
That's right.
At Alex's current level of power, the Justice League really was nothing but a burden. That wasn't an exaggeration in the slightest.
"That's great!"
The Justice League members exchanged glances, each seeing excitement in the others' eyes.
The Homelander was actually willing to help them!
With his involvement, what did Steppenwolf even amount to?
"Looks like we'll be fighting side by side again, Homelander."
Aquaman spoke honestly. "I really didn't expect this."
"I expected it even less," Wonder Woman added helplessly.
Themyscira had practically been looted clean, after all!
Working together with the very culprit felt awkward no matter how she looked at it.
"With the Homelander joining us, shouldn't we move on to the next step?"
Cyborg Victor interrupted everyone's emotions and spoke seriously.
"Right. It's time to send Steppenwolf back to where he came from."
Batman nodded heavily in agreement.
"But first, we need to know where Steppenwolf is."
"How do we even find him?"
The Flash pointed out the key issue.
Next, the Justice League members began discussing among themselves, tossing ideas back and forth about how to solve this problem.
"No need to rack your brains. I know where Steppenwolf is."
Alex suddenly spoke up.
He had already located Steppenwolf using his super hearing.
Effortless.
No one knew how Alex had done it, but at his level, if he said he knew, no one in the Justice League doubted him.
"Homelander, where is Steppenwolf?"
Cyborg immediately fixed his gaze on Alex and asked.
Alex told them the exact location he had picked up.
"Quick!"
Batman immediately called everyone over to a control console.
After typing rapidly on the keyboard, the location Alex mentioned appeared on the map.
"Pozharnov!"
Having lived for thousands of years and seen much of the world, Diana recognized it instantly.
"A ghost city near Moscow."
"There was a nuclear accident there thirty years ago, and it's been abandoned ever since."
So that's how it was!
The Justice League members finally understood why they hadn't been able to find Steppenwolf.
He had been hiding in a place like that.
"Pull up the satellite imagery!"
Batman spoke while continuing his operations.
Soon, everyone could clearly see the situation on the screen.
An unknown substance had gathered together, forming an enormous cocoon-like structure.
It almost completely enveloped the entire ghost city.
Not only that—
The satellite imagery also showed that the cocoon contained extremely terrifying energy.
"This dome… Steppenwolf must be inside!"
"The other two Mother Boxes are definitely in there as well!"
Cyborg immediately made the obvious conclusion.
The rest of the Justice League agreed completely.
"The energy readings here are enormous."
Batman's butler Alfred glanced at the data and couldn't help exclaiming.
"Based on these energy levels, I'm afraid none of our known weapons can break through."
Batman spoke gravely to his teammates.
"So we know where Steppenwolf's lair is—but we can't even get through the door?"
"Well, that's inspiring."
The Flash couldn't help complaining.
"Leave that to me."
Alex, who had barely spoken until now, finally said lazily.
The Justice League members looked at each other.
Then—
"Alright, let's move on to the next issue," Aquaman immediately suggested.
"Then we'll discuss the radiation problem," Batman followed up.
Just like that, no one mentioned how to breach the dome anymore.
If the Homelander said he'd handle it, then it wouldn't be a problem.
If even the Homelander couldn't deal with it, then they had no chance at all.
After that, Alex barely spoke.
He lounged off to the side, completely relaxed, basically just tagging along.
All the issues the Justice League was discussing were non-issues to him—he couldn't be bothered to care.
Nor did he feel the need to show off his presence.
And so—
About two hours later, once everything had been discussed and settled, the Justice League finally decided to move out and eliminate Steppenwolf, the alien invader.
Whoosh!
Soon, fully prepared, they boarded Batman's aircraft and set off with great momentum.
As soon as they arrived over Pozharnov, that massive dome entered their field of vision.
The destination—
Had been reached.
