After chatting with Alex, Superman had a clearer picture of Steppenwolf's invasion.
But instead of feeling relieved upon learning that Steppenwolf had been dealt with by Alex, Superman felt even heavier inside.
Steppenwolf had truly descended upon Earth—so what about Darkseid?
For Darkseid, who had once suffered a crushing defeat on Earth, would he really tolerate seeing his subordinate defeated again?
If Darkseid were to invade Earth once more, would Earth truly be able to stop him?
Thinking of this, Superman couldn't help but subconsciously glance at the man beside him—Alex.
Alex, after all, did not belong to this universe.
They couldn't place all their hope on him alone.
Compared to Superman's worries, Alex was far less emotionally invested in the idea of Darkseid invading.
It wasn't that he didn't care at all—rather, Alex was actually quite interested.
Because something like that was very likely to trigger a system mission.
And when it came to facing a cosmic tyrant on Darkseid's level, the rewards were almost guaranteed to be extremely generous.
Taking this into account, Alex decided not to leave the DC world just yet and instead stay a while longer to see how things developed.
As it turned out, that decision was absolutely the right one.
Just seven days after Superman had been rescued—
Alex was leisurely strolling around Metropolis, sightseeing and killing time.
Suddenly—
Bzzz—
Bzzz—
Wave after wave of energy fluctuations rippled outward.
This was—
At the very first moment, before anyone else even noticed anything unusual,
Alex sensed it.
He sharply raised his head and calmly looked toward the sky above Metropolis.
Sure enough—
A massive light curtain, over two hundred meters in diameter, abruptly appeared in midair.
Whoooosh—!
Whoooosh—!
The next instant,
Dense shadows poured out of the light curtain like a swarm of locusts, a sight terrifying enough to make one's scalp tingle.
"W-What is that?!"
"Monsters! So many monsters!"
"It's those bat-like creatures again!"
Cries of alarm immediately rang out all around. At this moment, everyone was shaken.
People looked up at the Parademons pouring out of the portal above the city, panic written all over their faces.
Parademons.
That's right.
Those locust-like creatures flying out of the portal were none other than Parademons.
Steppenwolf had already been killed, yet Parademons were appearing again.
What did that mean?
Alex's excitement began to rise.
Darkseid!
This had to be Darkseid's doing!
Darkseid was making his move on Earth!
As for whether Darkseid would destroy this world or not, Alex didn't really care.
What he cared about was that more "harvest" had come knocking.
Still, up to this point, Alex hadn't received any system notification.
So for the time being, he had no intention of intervening.
"Same as always—let's just watch the show first."
Alex happily made that decision.
"Run! Everyone, run!"
"Superman! Where's Superman?! We need Superman!"
"I told you! This world is doomed!"
People on the streets screamed and fled in all directions.
Alex, however, walked on calmly, as if none of this concerned him.
Boom!
A sonic boom rang out.
The underwear-on-the-outside superhero suddenly appeared.
Blazing heat vision shot from his eyes, ruthlessly attacking the Parademons.
How could Parademons possibly withstand a cheat code like Superman?
Swept by the heat vision, they fell from the sky one after another like leaves in autumn.
"Superman! It's Superman!"
"Superman's back! Thank goodness!"
"I knew Superman wouldn't abandon us!"
Cheers erupted from the crowd.
But even so—
There were simply too many Parademons in the sky.
No matter how fast Superman was, he couldn't kill them all in time.
Moreover,
Using his super senses, Alex detected something else.
The portal over Metropolis wasn't the only one—others had opened elsewhere too.
No matter how powerful Superman was, he couldn't cover everything.
As a result, even with Superman fighting, Metropolis still suffered severe damage.
"We can clearly see that all of Metropolis is being surrounded by these creatures. My God—what are these monsters?!"
"Superman is doing everything he can to eliminate them, but there are simply too many!"
"Just over a month ago, these same monsters appeared and were defeated by a group of superheroes."
"We're not entirely sure who those heroes were, but whoever you are, we beg you—please step in again and save Metropolis!"
"Save our city!"
Before long,
The tragic situation in Metropolis was broadcast by every major media outlet, shocking the entire world.

The Batcave
"It's the Parademons—they're back!"
"Damn it. My premonition was right. This really isn't over."
Staring at the horrifying images on the giant screen, Batman's face turned extremely grim.
Dark enough to seem like water might drip from it.
Although Alex had successfully killed Steppenwolf, wiped out the remaining Parademons, and returned the Mother Boxes to their rightful places—
Everything had seemed perfectly resolved.
But deep down, Batman had always felt an unshakable sense of unease.
At times, he even continued to see those apocalyptic visions—
Scenes like prophecies.
That feeling—those visions—had appeared even before Steppenwolf arrived.
And after Steppenwolf was defeated, they hadn't disappeared at all.
That was why Batman had always feared that this wasn't the end.
That Steppenwolf was merely the beginning.
And now—
He realized his fears had come true.
"My God…"
Alfred, the loyal butler, was also stunned by the shocking images, murmuring under his breath.
"Alfred, contact the others. Immediately."
Batman spoke in a deep, urgent voice.
Without wasting a word, Alfred immediately began operating the system.
Moments later,
Several communication windows appeared on the large screen.
Familiar faces showed up one by one.
They were the members of the Justice League.
"Bruce, I used to think you were talking nonsense—but it turns out you were right."
Arthur Curry, the Aquaman, spoke first.
"You're seeing the Parademons too, right? Should we mobilize now?"
The Flash asked impatiently.
"Yes. We need to move immediately."
Wonder Woman Diana said decisively, her posture heroic and resolute.
"We're heading to Metropolis—right now."l
