Chapter 583 - Chapter 584: Alex Beats the Hell Out of Darkseid

He's dead.

DeSaad is just… dead.

Smashed into bloody fragments by Alex, blown apart completely—there was absolutely no chance of survival.

"So he just… died like that?"

Alex felt a bit surprised.

He knew that in Darkseid's hierarchy, DeSaad's status was higher than Steppenwolf's, so subconsciously he had assumed DeSaad would be stronger.

Yet in a situation where Steppenwolf hadn't even died from one punch, DeSaad was directly blown apart.

That was why Alex felt a little taken aback.

What Alex didn't know was that DeSaad's raw combat strength was actually inferior to Steppenwolf's.

DeSaad relied far more on technological equipment; in terms of sheer toughness, he was naturally much less resistant to being punched.

"Alex… wasn't that a bit too brutal?"

The Flash looked at the pile of minced flesh on the ground, the corner of his mouth twitching uncontrollably.

Without a doubt, this was the most horrific death he had ever seen.

Bar none.

"Hm?"

"There's someone like this on this planet?"

"Someone who could kill DeSaad with a single punch?"

In midair—

Darkseid, who had just knocked Superman flying with one punch, revealed a look of surprise.

He had thought that the strongest being on Earth was the Kryptonian in front of him.

But now, it seemed there was another powerhouse.

Whoosh!

Darkseid wasted no words and flew straight toward Alex.

Batman, the Flash, and the other Justice League members immediately felt their hearts sink.

It was as if a mountain had been placed on their chests.

This was Darkseid.

The being who had invaded Earth years ago.

The one who had only been defeated by the combined forces of the Old Gods, Atlantis, the Amazons, the Green Lantern Corps, and other powerful factions.

Just moments ago, right before their eyes, he had beaten Superman like a dog.

Terrifyingly powerful.

And more importantly—

Darkseid was completely different from DeSaad.

DeSaad had defeated Superman largely by relying on kryptonite.

Strictly speaking, that wasn't true superiority.

But Darkseid?

He hadn't relied on tricks at all.

He had genuinely overpowered Superman.

Whoosh!

Before he even arrived, the Justice League members felt a suffocating pressure.

That pressure came from the sheer gap in strength.

Darkseid didn't even spare them a glance.

In his eyes, they were nothing more than insignificant ants.

His cold, piercing gaze fixed solely on Alex.

Like a moving mountain, Darkseid flew to a stop in front of him.

"You are not a Kryptonian. Not an Old God. Not any powerful race that I know of."

"No—you are the same as the others on this planet."

"So why are you so strong?"

Darkseid stared at Alex with open curiosity, confusion written on his face.

Why could beings of the same species differ so greatly?

"Are humans really weak?"

Alex smiled.

"Humans aren't weak. You just underestimate them."

"Well said!"

Batman couldn't help but shout in agreement.

Alex's words hit him straight in the heart.

Even though more and more monsters had appeared on Earth—each capable of leveling cities—

In Batman's eyes, those beings merely possessed brute force.

Humans might seem weak, but they had what those monsters lacked: courage, intelligence, and an indomitable will.

And those were the true sources of strength.

It was precisely because of those traits that humanity had been able to survive—and win—against so many invasions by godlike beings.

"Is that so?"

Darkseid snorted coldly.

"You think killing DeSaad means you're no longer weak?"

"You know nothing about power."

Shrrk!

Before the words had even finished leaving his mouth, two Omega Beams shot out from Darkseid's eyes straight at Alex.

Buzz!

In that instant, Alex willed it—

A massive telekinetic barrier appeared in front of him, directly blocking the Omega Beams.

A trace of surprise flashed across Darkseid's face. He clearly hadn't expected Alex to stop them so easily.

Shrrk!

Alex didn't hesitate either. He fired two blazing heat vision beams straight at Darkseid.

Darkseid willed it, and his Omega Beams curved midair, colliding head-on with Alex's heat vision.

The two beams smashed together.

They deadlocked.

Shrrk! Shrrk!

Under everyone's gaze, the beams intertwined violently in midair.

For a moment, they were locked in perfect balance—neither side giving way.

This guy…

He's really that strong!

Darkseid's expression gradually turned serious.

Any trace of contempt vanished completely.

In its place was genuine recognition—and surprise.

He truly hadn't expected this man to block his Omega Beams so effortlessly.

Across countless conquered worlds, Darkseid had rarely encountered warriors like this.

In an instant, his competitive spirit was ignited.

He wanted to see—

Whether his beams could truly overpower this man's.

Darkseid refused to believe he would lose.

As for Batman, Wonder Woman, and the others—

They were all growing tense.

Darkseid was indeed terrifying.

Alex's usual overwhelming dominance had vanished here.

Darkseid was fighting him head-on.

Could Alex really defeat Darkseid?

For the first time, the Justice League members weren't completely sure.

As expected of Darkseid.

He truly wasn't comparable to ordinary foes.

Alex silently acknowledged.

At least in a beam clash, Darkseid was not inferior to him in the slightest.

But—

Alex's true strength wasn't limited to heat vision.

Beyond heat vision, he had many other methods.

Darkseid might be able to match him in beam combat—

But in other aspects, that wasn't guaranteed.

Whoosh!

Alex suddenly waved his hand.

A colossal telekinetic fist condensed out of thin air and smashed straight into Darkseid.

BOOM!

A deep, thunderous impact echoed.

Darkseid's body shuddered violently—

And he was sent flying, smashed away by Alex's blow.
