Chapter 3 - Chapter 3; Rescues a human

Selara nonchalantly turned around and gazed at him, even though it was darker inside, the tattered roof let in some light coming from the moon. She neither responded nor shook his hand that was outstretched.

"Chris, are we going to die here?" They cramped themselves together, hugging each other.

"What are we going to do? There's no network, and I am unable to reach out for a rescue chopper." He was scared, yes, but he was the man in that group, his siblings were amongst them, and he didn't know what he could do.

The rogue wolves were closing in and were finally just a few steps away.

"They must be hiding in here..." Their voices sounded as they walked into the hut, as it didn't have a door shielding them from attackers. But the moment they stepped through the door, they suddenly felt an oppressive aura, a dreadful aura that commanded them and probably thought an Alpha was around the area.

Seeing they were coming after them, Christopher Parker lunged forward and decided to battle them to the death. He would have to battle them to the death!

How could he fight against these five rogues who were not normal humans? Blood seeped from a wound above his brow as he tried to defend himself.

He stood protectively before the two nurses and two girls who were twins, no older than seventeen, his arms wide, voice shaking but still unyielding. He would fight to the end even though he looked fragile. He was a brave human indeed.

Selara finally got up from the floor and heavily growled, and her voice rumbled like thunder through the sky. Trees bowed in her presence, rocks shattered. The world blurred beneath her relentless command.

"Luna"

It was their Luna

The Queen of wolves.

The rogues barely turned before they died instantly. They didn't have a chance to begin with.

One by one, they fell down at the entrance door of the hut, ripped apart by claws that danced like lightning, jaws that crushed bone.

She moved through them with a silent fury, her silver eyes burning like stars. It was over in moments. A massacre without mercy.

She stood tall amidst the wreckage, her breathing steady without a care. The flames around her cast her in divine silhouette, goddess, monster, protector. All in all, she was everything the humans had needed at the moment.

The frightened humans stared in stunned silence. If she was this capable, why didn't she act immediately? Why wait until Christopher Parker was injured?

Standing in front of them, Christopher's gaze found hers, and you could feel some fireworks blooming. Her eyes were the rarest and charmed at night.

Gazing into his eyes, it suddenly happened, Selara staggered, almost falling. The fire within her, the black poison long lodged in her blood, rose to strike once again, but only to recoil. The pain receded. The curse curled back into stillness, and she was back to the mighty Queen.

She knew it was because of him.

"You...You saved us," Christopher stammered with uncertainty as he tried to find his breath. What kind of a human was she? They didn't know if they should be afraid of what's looming out there or afraid of her.

Without saying a word, Selara stepped forward, voice calm but commanding, you could tell she wasn't a simple human like them. "What's your name? Where are you from and what are you doing here?"

My name is Christopher. Christopher Parker, a nurse, came over to the village for a mission." Whether they survived or died seemed to be at her mercy tonight. They couldn't fight against fate.

His soothing voice hummed through her bones. Even though he was a human, it was the first time she was seeing someone that was perfect than those Alphas.

"And them? Who are they?" She had seen how he protected them; if it was a rival, she would have to get rid of them
