SCP - 042 "A Formerly Winged Horse"

Object Class - Safe

-----------------------------------------------------------

The dimly lit transport aircraft rumbles softly as it begins its descent. Inside, Dr. P██████ sits tense in the cockpit, hands trembling slightly on the controls. Nearby, security personnel prepare to secure the scene after the attempted transfer of SCP-042. The other passengers are silent, aware of the chaos that unfolded.

Pilot: (over radio) Control, this is Flight 47. We're approaching the landing zone. Dr. P██████ is in control, but there's some unusual activity on board.

Security Officer: (through headset) Copy that. We're ready to secure the site once you land.

In the cargo bay, the air is thick with tension. SCP-042, a massive white horse with bone protrusions from its back, stands motionless, eyes fixed on Dr. P██████. The man approaches, eyes wide with a mixture of fear and fascination.

Dr. P██████: (whispering) It's so… quiet. It's like it knows what's happening.

Security Officer: Sir, step back from the animal. We're about to tranquilize it.

Dr. P██████: (voice trembling) No. Wait… I need to see it again. Just one more moment.

He kneels slowly, reaching out tentatively. SCP-042's eyes meet his, and the creature's gaze seems to hold a strange, pleading quality.

Dr. P██████: (softly) Hey there… I'm sorry about what happened. I didn't mean to hurt you.

The horse's massive head lowers slightly, almost as if understanding. Without warning, SCP-042 gently nudges its muzzle against his face. Dr. P██████'s eyes flutter as euphoria washes over him.

Dr. P██████: (gasping) Oh… it's… so warm… so… soothing.

Security Officer: Sir! Step back! We've got to tranquilize it!

The tranquilizer darts fly through the air. SCP-042 recoils, kicking out with unnerving strength. Two security personnel are struck and knocked over. The horse's eyes flash with a strange intelligence as it glances at the fallen men.

Officer: (shouting) We need backup! It's breaking free!

The plane shudders as the pilot struggles to regain control. Outside the window, the runway rushes closer.

Pilot: (over radio) We're going down! Brace for impact!

The aircraft violently plunges into a steep descent. Gravity presses everyone into their seats as the world outside blurs. Inside the cargo bay, SCP-042 roars, a sound like thunder, then suddenly halts, standing still as the aircraft crashes into the ground.

Moments later, emergency personnel rush onto the scene. Amidst the wreckage, SCP-042 is standing, blood dripping from the wounds caused during the crash. Its massive form is battered but still upright. It turns its head slowly, eyes locking onto the security team.

Security Officer: (drawing weapon) Stand back! Do not approach!

But SCP-042 makes no aggressive move. Instead, it steps forward, gently touching its muzzle to the face of the fallen Dr. P██████. The man's eyes flutter open, a look of euphoria lingering as consciousness returns.

Dr. P██████: (weakly) It… it's… different. It… feels… like… love…

The security team hesitates. SCP-042's gaze remains fixed on him, a strange mixture of longing and sorrow.

Officer: (lowering weapon) Hold your fire. It's not attacking.

Doctor: (from afar) It's… showing some form of attachment. We need to contain it immediately.

The lead researcher, Dr. Klein, steps forward cautiously.

Klein: (quietly) You see this? It's not just an animal. Whatever this thing is—whatever it's capable of—it's more than we thought.

The creature's massive, bone-laden back shifts as it gently nudges Dr. P██████ again, then looks around at the chaos.

Klein: (to team) Secure the scene. We're taking it back to Area-4. And no one tries to provoke it again.

As SCP-042 is gently restrained, it gazes at the injured man one last time, a flicker of something almost human in its eyes.

Klein: (to himself) Whatever you are, we're not done understanding you yet.

The blackened sky looms overhead as the team transports SCP-042 away, leaving behind the wreckage of the plane and the faint echo of the creature's silent, pleading gaze.

End.
