Chapter 1 - Prologue: "What’s the Point?"

Ishi Kurosawa sat at his desk, staring out the window. People were walking down the street, cars passing by, and everything just seemed... normal. It made him wonder, Is this all there is to life?

"Is this really it?" he muttered to himself. "Is this what it's all about?"

He looked around his room. It was the same as always—posters on the walls, books he never read, and a game console sitting unused. Was this it? Just... going through life, doing the same thing every day?

"Come on, man, tell me," Ishi said aloud to no one in particular. "Is this the kind of life people are supposed to live? Just doing stuff and not really questioning it?"

He grabbed his phone and started scrolling through social media. There were pictures of his friends having fun, people he didn't really care about posting about their lives. Everyone seemed so... happy. But was it real happiness? Or was it just something people showed off?

"Am I the only one who feels like I'm missing something?" he asked himself. "Maybe I'm overthinking things, right?"

His phone buzzed. A message from Yuto, his best friend: "Hey Ishi, are you coming to the party tonight? Everyone's wondering where you've been. You've been acting kinda weird lately."

Ishi stared at the message. A party? It was always the same thing—loud music, people acting like they were having fun, and a bunch of forced conversations. Did he even want to go?

"Should I go?" he asked, looking at the phone. "I mean, what's the point?"

After a moment, he replied, "Nah, I'm good. Maybe next time."

He threw his phone down on the desk and leaned back in his chair. Something about all this felt off. Was he just weird? Or was the world just... boring?

"Why does it feel like I'm just... existing?" he said, frustration creeping into his voice. "Like I'm just going through the motions, waiting for something that never comes?"

Suddenly, he felt a sharp pain in his chest. It was so sudden, so strong, that he couldn't breathe. What was happening?

"What the hell?" he gasped, clutching his chest. His vision started to blur, and he fell forward, unable to stop it. "Am I... am I dying?"

His body went numb, and everything around him went dark. His last thought, before everything went blank, was one simple question:

What if there's another world out there?

And then... nothing.
