In this world, many people are born with special powersโ€”yet some are not. These powerless individuals are simply humans, while those born with abilities have always been seen as different. In ancient times, they were separated from normal humans.

As time passed, these gifted individuals formed their own communities. Eventually, they organized a society where those with powers could support the powerless. Out of this came the Hero Associationโ€”an organization that ranked heroes based on their strength, skills, intelligence, and combat prowess.

But not everyone used their powers for good.

Some, driven by pride or malice, began to harm others for their own pleasure. These individuals became known as villains. They, too, formed their own secret association, hidden from both heroes and ordinary people. Within this villainous group, members were ranked as wellโ€”with the ultimate goal of defeating heroes.

It was in this world that a boy named Zekai Kanzaki was bornโ€”a villain by blood. His home was a place called Rifoid, a city strictly guarded by the Villain Association. Rifoid was known as a sanctuary for villains, protected from the outside world.

Zekai, however, was different. Compared to his powerful siblings, he was weak and had yet to awaken any powers. At the age of 12, he resolved to grow stronger and joined the Villain Association's training program.

When he arrived, he was stunned by the towering buildings, as massive as blue whales, and the impeccably dressed villains moving about. After enrolling, he was brought to a large training hall filled with young villains around his ageโ€”all eager to develop their skills or find sparring partners.

It was there that Zekai met someone.

"Hey dude! Looks like we're both here to train. Wanna team up?" a boy called out.

Zekai smiled, relieved to find someone friendly.

"Yeah, sure! I was nervous I wouldn't find anyone."

"Same here, haha! I'm Seijiro Aizawa. What's your name?"

"Zekai Kanzaki."

"That's a cool name, buddy!"

"You too!"

"Yeah, we've both got awesome names, huh?" Seijiro grinned. "But hey, don't worry if your powers haven't awakened yet. We're here to train, right? Let's push ourselves so hard that no one here can match our power and skills!"

Zekai was stunned by Seijiro's confident words.

"Wowโ€ฆ You really know how to motivate someone."

"Of course! Now let's check out the announcement. The countdown's almost over."

The timer on the large screen reached zero, and a voice echoed through the hall:

> "Dear young trainees, welcome. You will now proceed to the training grounds. Please find a partnerโ€”training alone may slow your progress. The following rules are strictly enforced and will appear on the screen."

The rules appeared on the glowing board:

**1. Do not harm your fellow trainees.

2. Do not use your powers during training with a partner.

3. Damaging property will lead to immediate expulsion.

4. Restricted rooms are off-limits; only the training ground is accessible.

5. Report any injuries or illnesses immediately.

6. Using your powers in anger or to harm someone will result in severe punishment.

7. The training ground is closed every Thursday.

8. Leaving the training grounds without a valid reason will result in a warning; five such offenses lead to a one-week suspension.

9. Absence for over a month without notice will prompt a withdrawal notice.

10. Safe Armour Guard is required for sparring and is strongly recommended."

Then came another announcement:

> "Safe Armour Guards can be purchased at the Association Store for $50. For today, trainees may observe or train individually without combat."

Zekai turned to Seijiro.

"So... you got the money for the gear?"

"Nah. Who even saves money? I'll just ask my parentsโ€”they're super rich."

Zekai's eyes widened.

"Waitโ€”you're from a rich family?"

"Yeah...?"

"I thought you were like me. I'm from a middle-class family."

"Well, if you want, I can ask my parents for an extra $50 for you."

Zekai hesitated. Should he accept help or use his savings?

"I don't know... I guess I could just use my own money."

"Don't worry, man! I'm loadedโ€”if I can help, I should, right?"

Zekai was torn but then made up his mind.

"Alright... I'll save my money for my family. Thanks, Seijiro."

"No problem! Come on, let's go to my place and ask my parents."

"Sure...?"
