Backstage
(Damian is removing his makeup. Mr. Mah stands beside him, going over his schedule. Only the wardrobe change is left. Mr. Mah walks away to inform the next location about Damian's departure. Damian turns to Ella.)
Damian: You're… not that bad a reader. Just work on your facial expressions. Your vocal emotion was actually good.
You did well in the second take. Not that I say this often… but you deserve some praise.
(He hands her a towel and walks away.)
Ella (genuinely smiling): Really?
From his busy schedule, Damian barely gets to talk to Ella. They usually exchange only a few words at the end of the day while sitting in the car, heading home.
Ella: That was a tiring day.
Damian: (scrolling through his tablet) Was it?
Mr. Mah: You'll get used to it soon.
Ella: I hope so.
Mr. Mah: You're doing a great job—just don't forget the instructions I gave you.
Ella: Yes, sir.
Damian: Can I add one more rule?
Mr. Mah: Of course.
Damian: (turns back to Ella) No sleeping in my car. (smiles for the first time at her)
Ella: What does that mean?! I didn't sleep on purpose. How am I supposed to control that?
Damian: Work harder. You're lazy.
Ella: I'm not!
Mr. Mah: Ella… (gives her a look)
Ella: (quickly) Sorry, sir.
Damian: (leans closer and whispers with a smirk) I can say whatever I want while he's around.
Ella: (angrily whispers back) No, you can't.
They continue their playful argument until they near her house.
Damian: Mr. Mah, assign her a separate car.
Ella: Yes, Mr. Mah, please do.
Mr. Mah: Okay, I'll make the arrangements.
Ella glares at Damian, who's clearly enjoying teasing her.
