Haruto collapsed back onto his mattress with a lazy chuckle. "Money moves mountains. Renji is the school prince, everyone bows for him. You, you are nothing actually. That's how life works."
Yuki rolled his eyes, kicking off his sneakers. "Wow, thanks for the motivational speech. I feel so inspired now."
Haruto stretched his legs across the bed, burying one arm beneath his pillow and turning toward the wall. His voice came out muffled but still dripping with sarcasm. "Dude, where've you been anyway? Were you in detention or something? You left like you were going to get treated for an STD and then never came back."
Yuki froze mid-step, turning to look at the back of Haruto's head.
"Let me guess," Haruto continued. "You met a hot chic there? Or—" he sat up halfway, throwing a squint over his shoulder, "you actually had the STD and just couldn't face me because I was right all along."
