He wakes up, dazed, not knowing the time and hurriedly gets dressed. He steps out of the room just in time to hear a notification on his dashboard. He runs to the dashboard in the cockpit urgently unlocking it to see the notification. All he could feel was excitement and anxiety. A few days ago he set his scanners to pick up any Military ships, as he could attack them for resources and information.
"Come on be something good once in a while"
He read the notification and immediately felt relief, but also happiness. The ship was a small Class IV cruiser carrying only supplies. Or so it seemed. He knew well that those kinds of ships often carry highly classified intel and are heavily guarded on the inside, but not the outside as not to attract suspicion.
He clicked a few buttons on the dashboard and behind him the schematics for the ship appeared. He spent hours planning on how to highjack the ship as every time one of them was attacked, something was reinforced, changed or altered to confuse the attackers. That was Intergalactic Military's power. Unlimited resources to do whatever they wanted, whenever they wanted. The night was falling again when he finished with his plan. The ship was close, in Avalon system, not far off from Valon. It was headed to a secure base on Tornell III, or so he thought. No, he was sure, there were no other bases anywhere near that sector.
After clicking a few buttons he turned on the ship's autopilot.
A mechanical voice said: "ETA-15 hours captain"
"Put it into overdrive, we only have 10, they will be there in 12 hours, so I have to get a head start"
"Understood captain, ETA updated-10 hours" said the voice again
He turned around and went to prepare his weapons and armor, he was going to need it, after all he wasn't capable of attacking an armed cruiser without armor.
He took his armor, or rather armor plates, put them on his shirt and pants in their holders-thighs, chest, back, shoulders and forearms.
After a long pause, he took the katana out of its holder and placed it on his left hip, just like old samurai used to.
To pass the time he studied old texts, ancient language and the mysterious symbol etched in the habaki of the katana. He couldn't find the translation for the symbols, but he thought to himself that it didn't matter, he was just curious after all. He was always more brawn than brains, that's why his name was Taiji. A reference to old Japanese combat style taijutsu, focused mostly on physical fighting.
It wasn't long after that he came into atmosphere above Tornell III. The planet was surrounded by two Suns and two moons. It looked like an overgrown jungle with massive trees, vines and huge mountains visible from space. Those mountains were bare, all vegetation disappeared due to extreme heat in those areas(around 70 degrees Celsius).
"Surface temperature 40 degrees with humidity of 70%. According to records the fauna and fauna are around 3 times bigger than on Valon"
"Noted, where is the nearest Military base?"
"70 kilometers due south east"
"If i hurry ill be there in half an hour. Engage safety protocols and lockdown, no manual override"
When he exited the ship, it went into full lockdown and camouflaged itself to fit with the green and brown surroundings.
He took off sprinting, much faster than any being on this planet, or so he hoped, he didn't have time to spare, he was in a hurry. If the ship's data got to the control panel in the base, it would be almost impossible to retrieve.
