Chapter 2 - Preface

"I'm sorry, no one is allowed to enter into that room", Mr Frederick replied his good friend Owen as he took him around the building. This building in question was the Jiden Enterprises, the same building which finally nailed a breakthrough when it produced the superhuman orb. News of the orb had long spread quickly. The orb was believed to allow human cells to adapt, and based on whatever situation they find themselves in! Competition among the news casters arose, as everyone was eager to see live pictures and videos, and so, LivelyNews sent Owen, their photographer to take a few pictures for publishing.

"But in the bosses words, 'you shall not miss a single heartbeat here'. I don't intend to pry, but my job could be at stake depending on the efforts I put here. As my good pal, you won't want me to lose my Job would you?", Owen pleaded as they descended the stairs, heading for another room, this one containing blueprints and undergone procedures to create it.

"Sorry,'pal', but there have already been a few cases of attempted theft. As it is now, the building is on lockdown, and the orbs are being mass produced. I only let you in because we go way back, but if you probe, I could also lose my job, because you shouldn't even be here. I hope you understand"

Owen squinted, and was about to retort, when the building shook terribly, and all the alarms went off.

"oooh no, what now?", Mr Frederick moaned as he and Owen rushed back upstairs. there was commotion in the room that he just warned Owen not to enter....

CHAPTER ONE

What happened?

Jack took another bite from his already burnt out sandwhich and turned his his attention to the news text floating on the virtual reality screen in front of him. It appeared the news of that night was still the leading story, but why wouldnt it be?Afterall, it was the first major superhuman attack, and it was carried out on JiDen Enterprises!

" Come on!! for a full week now!"

That's right. the news was still there. He ran through every news website, hoping to see something new. But that hope was crushed, as there was none other.

"That's what competition gets you folks!"

The past week had been rather uneventful since that incident. He had to stay low, and didn't bother going back to work because the building was damaged. Even at that, he still sent them a resignation letter, as proof of his permanent exit from the Enterprise. He was planning to visit the boss at his house, to finalize any documents for termination of his work.

After running through the headlines, he proceeded to shower up and then dress. But of course, he burnt his towel, boiled up the water Almost up to evaporation, and broke/partially melted his metallic door handle.

"Nooo! Not again!!"

Yes, again. he just couldn't help but remember everytime he destroyed something, as his mind ran back for the umpteenth time, to the chaos rendered that night.....
