Chapter 1 - Omega Problems.

It was a day to her coming of age ceremony and to say she was excited was an overstatement. A massive one.

Of course there was a tiny spark of excitement in her abdomen but that was it. She found nothing elating about getting mated to a fellow weakling who wouldn't be able to stand up to anyone or rogues when there's an attack.

Who knows? He could even hide behind her skirts at the sound of a gun shot and would be very much comfortable hiding in a tunnel below while men like him fought on the surface, giving their lives for just causes.

She was in no way trying to downplay the Omegas, but in her humble opinion, the male Omegas are way weaker than the females so yeah, you can understand her non-excitement.

"Bethany Gravis Sage!" Her mother screamed from their tiny dining room below her bedroom, causing her to jump off her tiny yet cozy spring bed, her muscles tingling painfully due to how hard she worked out in the early hours.

"If you do not get down here this instant, you're definitely not gonna like what I'm going to do!"

"I'm coming, Mom!" She shouted right back stretching a little, much to her body's dismay.

Putting on a slacked round neck top, she walked out of her room into their tiny hallway to the stairs, going down into their tiny sitting room adjoining the dining.

"Look who decided to show up." Her Dad scoffed, causing her to roll her eyes at him, sticking out her tongue a bit, as she sat in her seat.

"Cut it out, you both." Her mom scolded, taking off her apron and giving them stern looks.

"You went training again, didn't you?" Jenny- her mom- said, her look accusatory.

"Just a bit. Nothing serious." Beth murmured, forcing half of her toast into her mouth, like it could muffle the scolding she was about to receive.

"How many times do I tell you, Beth? We are not built for that! There are other skills to learn, you are an Omega and a female! You shouldn't be doing that." Jen cried in frustration.

"Mom, please. I learn other skills everyday. I just want to train. That's all. Do you see me crying? Or wailing? It's something I want to do, please just let me pursue my interests?"

"And what happens when you get hurt, huh?"

"Mom. There are a lot of female Omega soldiers out there. Hell all of the soldiers are Omegas. I can do this, Mom." Beth said pleadingly, really tired of the reccuring topic.

Training was something that made her feel good and whole, even though she trained alone. She couldn't just give it up just because of the fear of getting hurt, it didn't make sense to her.

"Honey." Her father, Ray, called, looking at his wife, affection glinting in his eyes. "We can trust her, honey. No matter how scared we are. Holding children back has never yielded good reports."

"But I'm worried for her, Ray." Jen said, tears clouding her eyes.

"She'd be fine. She's not the first and would definitely not be the last." Ray consoled, Beth sat there looking at her parents, toast completely forgotten.

"Alright." Jen sniffed, wiping her tears and putting up a smile. Turning to Beth she continued. "Well, eat quickly, we have to get you prepped for your coming of age ceremony.. I am going to dress up." Jenny said gingerly heading for her bedroom, leaving a dumbfounded daughter and amused husband.

"She was just.... Wasn't she just?" Beth stammered in confusion, Ray not being able to hold back his laughter, cackled loudly, leaving Beth even more confused.

"So sorry baby." Ray said coming down from his high. " Your Mom has a tiny bit of bipolar problems."

"Tiny bit? Hell, that shit was in no way tiny." She said shaking her head slightly, munching on the other half of her toast.

"Tell me about it." Ray said, smiling fondly. "Anyway. I have I be on my way." He said, leaving his seat and heading to the coat hanger by the door. "Enjoy your preparation, honey." He teased, knowing damn well she didn't like any bit of such.

"Fuck off!" She called as he closed the door behind him cackling.

"No swearing!" Jen thundered from the bedroom upstairs, causing her to groan in frustration.

"I really wish I can abscond."

***********

"C'mon, honey. We are very late already." Jen said gingerly, arranging the varieties of biscuits and cookies she had bought the day before on their small dining table, silently visualizing her future son inlaw sitting beside her daughter with she and her husband sharing the customary cookies.

The thought alone excited her greatly. She had waited eighteen years for this day.

Meanwhile..

Bethany stood before her mirror clad in her little sea green dress that she had not so subconsciously saved for this day. It hugged her petite body just appropriately, showing off her alluring figure, stopping just above her knees.

Her dad got it for her when she had just turned 18, saying it made her eyes pop and it really did, especially with the help of the smokey eyes she was finally able to pull off after countless tries.

Her lips were painted with nude lipstick and her neck glistening with scented olive oil.

In as much as she might not exactly cherish being mated to weak Omega, she still cherishes being mated.

Silently she's always looked forward to sharing what her parents shared with her own special someone. Someone who would not just be attracted to her, but will love, cherish, understand and tolerate her shortcomings.

Someone who wouldn't see her as a nuisance or a punishment from the Goddess. And lastly..

Someone who would make her feel seen and would actually see and compliment the fire brewing through her.

Adjusting her gown she walked to her favorite part of her room; A 60 inches long window just opposite her bed, that always had a perfect view of the full moon.

She contemplated praying to the Goddess for a spectacular mate but waved it off. Shouldn't it be late already? It was past eleven.

But her wolf, refused, saying it was better late than never.. so she prayed, her heart in her hand.

This better work.
