"-But imagine what it would've looked like if I hadn't fought back. If I hadn't forced myself to survive. I would have left this pack as soon as I turned eighteen, leaving my parents childless." She chuckled.
"I don't even think I would have lasted that long. I think I would've been dead by now." She felt his hand stiffen against hers at her words, but she cradled it with hers, rubbing the back softly, soothing his tense muscles.
"I would've been killed because I would've escaped from the pack and I would've been a rogue." She explained, but from the way his muscles tensed again, it didn't make him feel any better.
