Chapter 30 – A New Dawn

POV: Seren Thorne

I stood at the edge of the clearing, my heart racing as I watched Kael and his father clash. The power between them was like nothing I had ever felt before, a raw force of wills battling for dominance. I knew what was at stake here—the future of the pack, the future of Kael—and I could feel every moment of it as if it were my own.

The fight was brutal, and every blow that landed on Kael made my heart ache. I had never seen him like this—fighting not just for power, but for everything he believed in. His vision for the pack was one I shared, one I had always known deep down was right. But to challenge his father… to stand against everything Gideon represented… it wasn't just about strength. It was about conviction.

And Kael had it in abundance.

The moment when Kael's claws sank deep into Gideon's chest, the sound of his father's last breath caught in the air, I felt it too—the weight of the moment, the finality of the decision. The pack's future was no longer in the hands of a tyrant. It was in Kael's hands.

I rushed forward as soon as Kael stood, bloodied but victorious, over his fallen father. He looked like he had been through hell, but there was a fire in his eyes, a light that had been missing for far too long.

I didn't say anything at first. I just walked up to him, my arms open, and he pulled me close, burying his face in my hair.

"It's done," Kael murmured, his voice rough.

I nodded against his chest, feeling the weight of the world start to lift. "You're the Alpha now."

He nodded, pulling back to look at me. "I never wanted it to be like this. But I had no choice."

"You did what you had to do," I said softly, my hand resting over his heart. "And you've proven that you're more than capable of leading."

Kael's expression softened, but there was still something heavy in his eyes. "I didn't just fight for the pack. I fought for you. For us. You're the one who gave me the strength to see this through."

"I was only the spark," I said, smiling gently. "The fire was always inside of you."

He kissed me then, and in that moment, I knew we had won more than just a battle. We had secured our future. Together.

The pack began to gather around us, their expressions a mix of respect and awe. They had seen what Kael was capable of, and they were ready to follow him. The air felt different now—charged with possibility.

"We've done it," Kael whispered, his voice full of promise.

And for the first time in a long while, I allowed myself to believe it. The Old Gods were still a threat, yes, but we had faced the greatest challenge we could ever imagine—and we had won.

This was just the beginning.

The End.
