Chapter 1 - Ch-1 The Beginning of New Memories

A soft beep echoed through the hospital room.

A boy with blue hair slowly opened his eyes. The pale ceiling above him felt unfamiliar, cold, and distant.

Where… am I?

Footsteps rushed in. A nurse leaned over, her eyes wide with shock and relief.

"You finally woke up!"

He blinked. "…Who are you?"

The nurse froze. "You don't remember?"

The boy sat up slowly. "Who… am I?"

"I-I'll call the doctor!"

She dashed out before he could ask more. The boy looked around. Machines. Wires. Silence. A strange weight in his chest.

He didn't know who he was.

He didn't know why he was here.

Why can't I remember anything…?

The door opened again. A man in a white coat entered—likely the doctor.

"So, you've finally woken up, Mr. Blue," the doctor said with a calm smile.

"Blue…?"

"That's your name. Blue Ichiraku. You've been in a coma for ten years."

"…Ten years?"

"Yes." The doctor's voice softened. "And your memories… they're gone."

Blue lowered his gaze. A lump formed in his throat.

"…I don't remember anything."

"There was an accident. People said your parents… didn't survive."

"…So I'm… alone?"

"No." The doctor paused. "Your grandparents are alive. They've been waiting for this moment."

Blue's eyes widened slightly. "I have… grandparents?"

"They'll be coming soon to take you home."

A long silence followed.

"…I can't wait to meet them," Blue said at last. A faint smile touched his lips.

The doctor nodded but hesitated. His eyes seemed… burdened.

"…Something wrong?"

"It's nothing," the doctor said quickly. "Rest. You'll need strength."

As he left the room, the doctor whispered under his breath:

"…I'm sorry."

The next day arrived.

Blue stood by the window, his gaze distant.

What will they be like? Will they… accept me?

The door creaked open. An elderly couple walked in.

The woman smiled warmly. "We are your grandparents."

Blue blinked. "Really…?"

"Yes. Come, let's go home."

The car ride was silent at first.

"Where are we going?" Blue asked.

"To Nagasaki," his grandfather replied. "That's where we live."

"…Nagasaki?"

"It's a city in Japan. You used to love it there."

Blue tried to recall it—but nothing came. His memories were like a broken mirror.

A few hours later, they arrived.

Blue stepped inside the house. It smelled like old wood and something sweet—like home.

"This is your room," Grandpa said, opening a door.

Blue entered. The walls were painted in shades of blue. Posters of anime characters and baseball teams lined the space.

His eyes widened.

Why does this feel… familiar?

Memories—blurry but warm—flashed in his mind. Laughing. Playing baseball. Watching anime.

"I… remember this…" he whispered.

"Dinner is ready!" Grandma called from downstairs. "And tomorrow, you'll be starting high school again."

Blue's heart skipped.

School…? That's… a bit scary.

Two years passed.

Blue lived peacefully with his grandparents.

It was graduation day. Blue stood on the stage, accepting his certificate. The crowd clapped.

Later that night, while eating dinner—

"You'll be going to college now," Grandpa said.

Blue blinked. "Huh? But I want to stay here…"

"You can't," Grandma said gently. "Your college is in Tokyo. You're grown up now."

Blue didn't speak. He simply nodded.

The next morning.

Blue stood at the front door, suitcase in hand. His grandparents waved at him.

"…Bye," he said softly.

"Take care," Grandpa said.

"Do your best," Grandma smiled.

As Blue disappeared down the road, Grandpa turned to Grandma and whispered

"Finally… he's gone."

To be continued….
