Chapter 20 - That's not going to happen.

Eryx lets out a slow, heavy breath, the weight in his chest pressing harder by the second.

He can feel the pressure building in his bones, his body vibrating with exhaustion and unresolved fury.

His voice is gravelly, low, and flat. "I'm not talking about this right now. I don't have the energy to scream around. Everything I want right now is a peaceful environment."

"No." Both Morgana and Theo snap at the same time, their voices overlapping with sharp emotion.

Eryx's gaze moves to each of them in turn, slow and narrowed. The sharpness in his eyes isn't anger, it's weariness.

He stares at them as if he could crush the noise between them with silence alone, wishing he could just lock the two of them in a soundproof room and forget they exist until they've exhausted their own chaos.

He doesn't want their battles pouring into his space. He doesn't want anyone else's voice clouding the storm already howling inside his head.

He turns to Morgana.
