Chapter 65 - Preparations and Tension

I closed the bedroom door behind me with a soft click and leaned against it for a moment, my chest still pounding as if it hadn't realized the panic hadn't fully subsided. My mind was a chaotic whirlwind, replaying every word Roxy had whispered, the teasing that made my body shiver uncontrollably.

"Talk nerdy to me." The words echoed in my head, making me bite down on my lower lip without even realizing it. My heart hammered hard enough that it felt like it could break through my ribcage, and my hands trembled slightly as I traced the edge of the dresser, trying to anchor myself in something tangible.

I moved over to the mirror and stared at my reflection, searching for some semblance of composure, but all I found was flushed cheeks, wide eyes, and lips slightly parted in a mixture of awe and confusion.
