Chapter 68 - Stuck Behind the Curtain

I stared at my reflection under the soft golden light of the dressing room, cheeks flushed from the warmth and the faint nerves crawling under my skin. The fabric of the dress clung to me tightly—too tightly. It looked stunning, sure, but I could already tell it was a size or two too small. The neckline pressed against my chest, and the zipper at the back refused to go any higher no matter how I tried.

When Roxy asked from the other side of the curtain, her voice light and teasing, "How's it going in there?" I forced out a little laugh, even though frustration was starting to pinch at my patience.

"I think… I think I need a bigger size," I called back, tugging gently at the dress again. The material barely moved. "This one's a small, I think I need a large, please."

There was a pause, then her voice came again, cheerful and eager. "Okay! Stay right there, I'll grab it for you."
