Sitting cross-legged on the bed, Gusion withdrew his gaze from the Asauchi's information, checking the details of the items he had obtained—a basic contract ability granted by the Endspace.

According to the contract, if he passed the trial world, he would become a formal Explorer, and then he'd have a storage space, making it much more convenient to store and retrieve his belongings.

He had arrived at Seireitei at night.

On Unohana's recommendation, he became a provisional transfer student at the Shin'ō Academy.

It was provisional because he wasn't a full student yet. It wasn't the academy's official enrollment season, but thanks to Unohana, he was allowed to transfer in provided he passed the entrance exam.

He missed the enrollment season, so the academy arranged a simple assessment just for him, as a make-up process.

Unohana didn't think the entrance exam would trouble him. Judging by the teacher's attitude during his check-in, they already saw him as a student.

But Gusion himself wasn't so sure. He had read part of the Bleach manga, but he didn't know what the Shin'ō Academy's entrance exam would test.

If it covered things like Kidō (demon arts), which he knew nothing about, that would be a real problem for him.

"406…"

Gusion muttered his dorm number, looked up to check the room, and knocked on the door.

The student accommodations at Shin'ō Academy were nice: two people per dorm room. The dorm supervisor had told him that his roommate was a good person.

Apparently, his roommate had excellent grades and was friendly and humble, and if Gusion had any questions, he could always ask him.

After about ten seconds, the door opened. The one who answered was a young man with short brown hair and brown eyes.

Behind black-rimmed glasses were eyes as gentle as sunlight. He wore a faint, warm smile, looking like a kind big brother.

What the hell?

That was Gusion's first thought.

He studied his new roommate—his appearance, manner, and the sense of danger picked up by his instinct—all pointed to one possibility.

His roommate seemed to be a dangerous character from the original story… Sōsuke Aizen.

"Is there something you need?"

The brown-haired young man spoke.

Gusion snapped back to reality. "Hello, I'm Gusion Paxley, just enrolled, and my dorm was assigned here."

"Oh, I see."

The young man smiled and introduced himself: "Sōsuke Aizen. Welcome to the dorm."

As he spoke, he led Gusion inside and even enthusiastically helped make up his bed.

Through their conversation, Gusion became certain of his roommate's identity. This seemingly harmless big boy was the future hair gel master, king of witty remarks, and even looked better than him in a straightjacket. He had the fashion sense on lock.

But honestly, talking to Aizen at this time was quite enjoyable. At this stage, Aizen presented himself as a gentle, humble model roommate.

Not only did he help Gusion make the bed and introduce him to the dorm's facilities, but he also answered many of his questions about the Shin'ō Academy, always patient and never annoyed.

No wonder the dorm supervisor said Aizen was a good boy and that everyone liked dealing with him.

"By the way, Aizen, what year are you in?"

Gusion asked as he sat on his freshly made bed. Since he was here, he might as well relax. Even if Aizen would be dangerous in the future, he shouldn't cause trouble now—at least not within the academy.

Plus, Gusion felt that young Aizen's ambitions weren't so outrageous yet; mostly, he just liked pretending to be weak and hiding his true strength.

"Just call me Sōsuke. I'm also a first-year, just like you."

As Aizen spoke, he handed Gusion a freshly brewed cup of black tea.

"No wonder we were assigned to the same dormitory."

Gusion realized, politely accepted the tea, and used his appraisal ability to check it—making sure it wasn't some sleeping tea—before taking a sip.

Aizen had just told him a lot about the academy, so Gusion had assumed Aizen was an experienced upperclassman. He hadn't expected that Aizen was also a new student, just with a few more months of experience.

They chatted for a while longer before lights out. But Gusion noticed that after lights were out, Aizen didn't go to sleep. Instead, he sat cross-legged on the bed, his Zanpakutō laid across his knees as if sensing something.

Gusion guessed this was probably how Shinigami trained—no wonder Aizen was so strong. Not only was his talent monstrous, but he was also ridiculously hardworking.

Maybe sensing Gusion's gaze, Aizen opened his eyes and smiled apologetically. "If I'm disturbing your rest, I can go out to the balcony."

Gusion shook his head and smiled. "It's fine. We might end up training together in the future."

With that, he turned away and pretended to sleep.

Now that he had safely arrived at the academy, as long as tomorrow's entrance exam went smoothly, he'd complete the first stage of his mission.

He was temporarily safe here, so he needed to sort out what he knew so far.

As he pondered, Gusion opened the Endspace's system menu in his mind. Because he'd been busy during the day, he hadn't had a chance to explore it yet. Now, he needed to look through its contents.

Besides his attributes, he found tabs for bloodline, cultivation methods, skills, and specializations.

The cultivation methods tab was empty. In his era, legendary techniques with special powers had long been lost. All he learned were various moves.

Some special moves were classified as skills by the Endspace. He'd learned a mix of practical and flashy ones, but those could be set aside for now.

The bloodline tab was also empty. He hadn't used any corporate technology or enhancements—he was pure human.

What interested him most was the talent tab. Only today did he learn why he was naturally strong.

[Talent: Limiter, First Release]

Talent Rating: S (E- to SSS+)

Talent Details: Your body's limiter has been partially removed, giving you immense growth potential. Through training, you can break past normal human limits and gain tremendous strength.

Talent Skill — Limiter Release (Passive): All training/practice aimed at increasing Explorer attributes gains a 1000% boost.

Talent Evaluation: Oh my, are you going to go bald in the future?

[]

Gusion was a little speechless at the Endspace's comment. He had no idea what limiters had to do with baldness.

….

The next day.

Clear springs ran through the grounds, bamboo struck the stone with a crisp sound.

Sunlight filtered through the paper windows, falling on Gusion's face as he stared at the stone platform before him.

There were many young students in the dojo, dressed in white uniforms, watching Gusion with curiosity.

Yes, he was now taking the entrance exam.

Though Aizen had said the test was easy and he was sure to pass, Gusion hadn't expected it to be so casual.

He'd thought he'd get a private test in some secret room—but clearly, he was overthinking it.

According to the Kendo teacher, Mr. Fujimoto, he just needed to pass two items. As long as he cleared the first—spiritual pressure test—he would be an official student.

The passing threshold was very low: all you had to do was make the testing device resonate, meaning that as long as you had the talent for spiritual pressure, you could enroll.

Makes sense. In this world, the average Gotei 13 foot soldier only had about level 20 spiritual pressure. Most academy graduates only had spiritual pressure of about level 20.

So, for the entrance test, the academy wouldn't require new students to already be at level 20 or higher—otherwise, the Gotei 13 would hardly get any recruits.

Under the gaze of the students—and a curious Aizen—Gusion stepped forward and placed his hand on the strange stone platform.

This device was said to have been invented by Kirio Hikifune, current captain of the 12th Division, and could precisely measure a person's spiritual pressure level.

To test new students' potential, the device had ten marks below the standard level 20. Achieving the third mark in the test met the entry requirement.

Gusion stared at the display on the stone platform, curious about what level of his spiritual pressure would be.
