Chapter 4 - Volume 2: Chapter 1, The Two Brothers

350 years ago, in the country of Vraldeen, a noble man and his maid had an affair. Unfortunately, she got pregnant, and once the noble found out he made a plan. Since his love for her was real, the two of them plotted to run away together and live happily in The Thirteen Kingdoms, just south of their territory. After months of planning, the noble man and his lover left their life, and headed to the thirteen kingdoms. After weeks on the road, the two of them made it to a city. The city was widely known for its elite swordsmanship training. The city was so close to their destination that they chose to settle there for a while. They stayed at an inn near the city's main gate. After months, the woman finally gave birth to twins. They both had hair similar to their fathers. This made the noble man overjoyed, and he immediately fell in love with them. The man showered them with affection, giving them everything they desired. But after a few years passed, some rumors went around that they were living in this city. Rumors like this weren't good. If his family found out he had an affair with his maid, they would surely all be killed. Confident that he would keep his family safe, the noble man sought the help of a swordmaster. "Please swordmaster…" he said, "...I need your help protecting my family. I'm not foolish enough to think I alone can protect them. So please keep them safe." The swordmaster pledged himself to them, "Sir, you may not remember it, but I was saved by your family when I was a kid. I will protect your family with all my might." This made the father more comfortable, knowing that a swordmaster was watching over them. But it wasn't enough. One night, an assassin snuck into their inn and killed the mother in her sleep. The father woke up to a sight of his bloodied lover, on the ground. The assassin slit the noble man's throat and headed towards the kids. But before the assassin could kill them, the swordmaster broke down the door and killed the assassin. "I'm too late…" He said. "...But the children are still alive." The swordmaster took both of them in and raised them as if they were his own. From a young age, he taught them swordsmanship. As they grew older, the brothers began to show real promise with the sword. Once the two of them hit ten years of age, their hairs began to turn white at the roots. The swordmaster visited his master and asked what might be the cause of this, "Master, the boys I've been taking care of might be ill. Their hair has begun turning white at the roots. What could possibly be the cause of this?" His master was astonished at this, "The change of hair from one color to pure white is a sign that they are going to become a great warrior one day. It's a blessing given to only a special few people in the world." This made the swordmaster happy. He knew that with his training, those boys could become powerful swordsmen. As time went on, the boys grew older, and became Sword Lords at the age of 14. By then, their hair had turned completely white. The swordmaster tasked them with killing a giant red dragon. If they passed this test, they would be named Sword Overlords. So the two of them headed off to kill this dragon. They traveled for 5 days until they made it to the snowy peak of a mountain range. On the peak, was a giant red dragon that was asleep. The two brothers tried to kill it before the dragon woke up, but when they tried to pierce its skin, their swords broke in half. The dragon woke up, and began torching the entire mountain peak. The two brothers got separated due to the flames, and one of them fell off the cliff. The dragon went after that brother which let the other escape with his life. He ran all the way home, making it back in just 3 days. Once he told his master about what had happened, they sent out a search party. But after months, they could not find any trace of the lost brother. This led the swordmaster into despair, and he stopped teaching the boy altogether. The boy knew that he was to blame for this, so he fled the country and headed to The Thirteen Kingdoms.

While in this new country, the boy sought out a new master. He was determined to get stronger. After nearly a year of searching, he came across a city with a large castle. The boy knew this was the Kingdom's capital, so a strong swordsman must live here. He looked through the city, but it was to no avail. It was just as he was about to leave, did he sense a strong amount of aura emanate from the top of the capital's castle. It was like nothing he had ever felt before. So much aura was being produced it was enough to make a grown man cry. The boy ran across the city, into the castle and demanded to see who had made such an aura. The King and Queen had no intention of telling the boy anything, and kicked him out. This only angered the boy, so he snuck into the castle and made his way to its upper levels. Once there, he opened a door only to find an empty room. A sword was put to the boy's neck, as a man spoke from behind him. "May I ask what you're doing here?" He hadn't even noticed that the man was behind him. "I apologise sir, but are you the one producing that massive aura?" "I am." The man said. The boy smiled and continued talking, "Please sir… I've come from the country of Vraldeen to seek out a master. I am a Lord tier swordsman and am only 15 years old. Would you please consider teaching me?" The man brought his sword down and sheathed it. The boy turned to face him. The man was tall and slender. He had basic clothes on and was emanating a small amount of pressure around his body. "Well… you broke into the Kingdom's capital to find me. So I think you at least deserve a chance." The two of them went to the castle courtyard and began a sparring match. After a few swings the boy was overwhelmed by the man's power and was knocked to the ground. "You did well…' The man said, "...I would be honored to teach you." After that day. The boy and his new master would train every day in secret.

After another 5 years, the boy turned 20 and was named a Sword Emperor. "You have done well. I no longer have anything to teach you, and I doubt there are very many Sword Emperors that can best you in combat. Continue to get stronger." From then, the boy chose to make his way back to Vraldeen. He headed north. During his journey, he made friends with many people. After saving a village from goblin raiders, the village chief gifted him with a legendary sword. It was made from an alloy so strong it could pierce a full-grown dragon's hide just by falling on it from a few feet. The boy had made it back to his home city after a few months on the road. Once there, he headed straight to his master's house. He knocked on the door, and after a few moments someone answered. It was his master, who was staring at him, with wide eyes. "Master… I've come to challenge you! Fight me for the title of Swordmaster!" "I accept." The former master said. They made their way to the outskirts of the city and started their duel. After a few strikes, the boy had disarmed his former master. And held his sword to his throat, "I've done it, master. I have bested you in combat." The boy sheathed his sword, and headed back to the city without saying another word.

The boy made his way to the central castle and barged in. He demanded an audience with the Swordmaster's General, who was supposed to be the strongest swordsman in the southern part of the world. The general walked out and asked what the purpose of this meeting was. "I demand a shot at the title of General! I will defeat you in combat, and once I do, you will step down and give me your title!" The general walked over to the boy and nodded his head, "You are a foolish boy, but there is no doubt you aren't a total pushover. So fine, I'll fight you." The two of them headed outside of the castle and into the courtyard. The general drew his sword and so did the boy. They began their fight with the boy lunging at the general. After a few strikes, their bodies began to become a blur to all the swordmasters watching. Their movements were so fast, nobody could track them. Suddenly, a white light flashed before them and then, BAM! The general slammed against the ground, creating a small crater. The boy walked over to the general's body and pointed his sword at him. "I've won, former general. Now step down." The general scoffed, "I-I can't believe it! How could a boy like you be so strong!? You're so damn young!" After that day, the boy was now the General of the Swordmasters.

News of the boys' win spread across both Vraldeen and The Thirteen Kingdoms, which caught the attention of some very powerful leaders. One of which was the King of Belafleece, who sent a letter to the boy asking for assistance. This piqued the boy's interests and he decided to head over to the kingdom of Belafleece. Once there, the boy met with the king and was informed of the situation. Apparently, tensions were rising between the Northern and Southern kingdoms and war was imminent. So the king of Belafleece asked the boy for assistance in the war. The boy thought long and hard about the situation, but eventually accepted. And soon enough, The Thirteen Kingdoms was thrown into war, and the boy was tasked with infiltrating the southern kingdom of Phulkart. This task alone was easy. Within a few weeks, the boy made his way through battles, winning them all, and made his way into the kingdom of Phulkart. Once there, he was met with an ambush, led by five Sword Emperors. The boy was quickly overwhelmed by numbers and was forced to retreat. However, once he fled, a small army was waiting for him. The boy was now trapped. Suddenly, a voice called out, "Leave him!" It was oddly familiar. And then a man began walking over to him. The man wore black armor, resembling chainmail. He had white hair and deep golden eyes, "Well… I'm glad we finally caught you…" The man's face looked at the boy with a happy but malicious look, "...brother."

The man was his lost twin brother. He took the boy prisoner and headed back to Phulkart. "Brother…!" The boy was angry and confused. "...Brother, why are you doing this!?" The boy's brother ignored him, and stayed quiet until their arrival at the kingdom's capital. The boy was taken to a prison cell and had all his magic sealed within it. While inside the cell, he started experimenting with his sixth sense for magic. He began to feel the mana that not only surrounded him, but the entire capital. And after months of continuous practice, he managed to create a small form of magic. But it wasn't a conventional spell. He had made a small ball of pure light. He used it to break out and take over the capital while everyone was caught off guard. In the matter of a single night, the boy had killed every Sword Emperor in the capital and headed to the castle throne room, where his brother was located. He opened the doors and walked over to his brother, "Why!? Why have you done this!?" His brother looked down at him, with pure hatred in his eyes, "You have quite the reputation, brother. I'm not surprised you managed to escape. But you should have left the kingdom while you had the chance." In less than the blink of an eye, the brother disappeared and reappeared in front of the boy. He grabbed the boy's face and launched him almost ten miles from the capital. The boy landed with a loud CRASH! He got up and tried to regain his thoughts, but before he could, BANG! A giant fireball smashed into the ground in front of him, which sent him flying a few meters back. He held his footing and looked up to find his brother sending out fire magic. The boy dodged through each attack and readied his sword for a battle. They began to clash, which lasted for hours. After a slight slip up from the boy's brother, he swung his sword down and sent his brother flying into the capital. The boy was unscathed, but his twin had a huge scar on his chest with blood gushing out of it. "It's over brother! Surrender!" "Heh… you're a fool. I'll see you later… brother." His body turned black and his body's disposition changed into goop, which seeped into the ground.

After the battle, the boy sent a letter to Belafleece explaining the situation. Since Phulkart was on the coast, they were able to send boats over to the boy and they began occupying Phulkart. Stories of the boy's triumph spread across the entire world. His ability to use a new form of magic gave him a new name. He would go on to be known as Solomon The Angel.
