Chapter 14 - Volume 3: Chapter 1, Two Sides Of A Coin

After his twin brother had disappeared, Solomon's guilt rose up. However, he decided to push down his guilt, and continued training.

Unfortunately, his brother saw this as a betrayal. After the dragon attacked him, everything turned black. When he had awoken, chains held him hostage to a small bed. He was stuck in some sort of a cell. After hours of waiting anxiously, a man opened the cell doors and walked inside. The man came over to the boy, and forced a black liquid down his throat. The boy screamed in agony, as his body began to turn hot, burning from the inside. Once he lost consciousness, the man strapped him to the wall, and his torture began. Over the years, he was slowly stripped of his humanity.

However, after an untold amount of time, his chains were released and the man said something that gave him hope, "You have a choice…" This small glimmer of hope was quickly stripped away with the man's next few words, "...Either stay here, and train under our organization… Or we can end your misery, and I will kill you here and now." The boy's heart ached, but he forced himself to endure the harsh training they put him through. In return, he gained an insurmountable amount of strength. He learned how to use curses, and mastered the ability of cursed chants. After many years, and a civil war broke out within The Thirteen Kingdoms, the boy's mind had grown so twisted that he sided with the South, and fought with the promise that he'd be granted the title of king. However, during this war, he was confronted by his twin brother. At first, memories flooded his mind, and he felt relieved. But then the piercing pain of betrayal filled his body, and hatred consumed him.

After their battle, the boy went into hiding. Once the war began to climax, and the final battle began, the boy revealed himself once more. He used his cursed chants to crush entire platoons of armies, giving the South a huge edge. But once Solomon caught sight of him, their battle ensued. The two of them clashed, destroying the terrain around them, and creating earthquakes strong enough to shake the entirety of The Thirteen Kingdoms. Mountains turned to dust, rivers evaporated, and the landscape crumbled away.

As the battle continued, Solomon began to tire. His twin grabbed him by the throat and pinned him against a mountain. He came close to his ear and said, "It's time my brother… You will now know who I truly am…" He released his grasp on Solomon, "FALL!" Suddenly, Solomon plummeted to the ground, leaving him on his hands and knees. Solomon gritted his teeth, and slowly struggled to raise his head and face his brother. The brother dropped down beside him, looking down in disgust, "My name is Shyzen… And I am the God Of Gods." Solomon was shocked to hear this, but he smiled, "Alright Shyzen… nice trick but…" He clasped his hands together, and it began to emanate a blue aura, "RELEASE!" Just then, the pressure that pulled Solomon down disappeared. Shyzen took a step back in shock, and Solomon leapt forward, grabbing Shyzen by the face and chanting, "Hear me my Gods, and bestow upon thee your true power! Allow my humble self to replicate your oh so powerful abilities, and strike down the foe before me! I call upon the power to defeat even the greatest of foes! …SEALING!" Shyzen tried to release himself by stabbing Solomon in the gut, but he didn't let go. Solomon's hand began to emanate a deep blue color. The light started to envelop Shyzen, and his body began to glow the very same light from head to toe. And then, he disappeared, leaving behind nothing but a small black crystal, nearly the same size as someone's hand. Solomon fell to the floor, gasping for breath.

And just like that, Shyzen was sealed for nearly three hundred years. However, his influence was not forgotten. Some people began to worship him as an actual God. They gained followers, and hid in the shadows, slowly growing in strength.

One day, nearly fifty years after Shyzen's sealing, a boy with exceptional abilities caught wind of this cult's activities. His hair was white, and his eyes were a piercing red. He began researching Shyzen and his teachings. Over time, the boy grew fond of Shyzen's teachings, and joined the cult. As the boy grew up, he learned of vida, and how to control it. By the age of twenty one, the boy had nearly mastered his flow of vida, and stopped his aging process completely. However, the boy was born into a royal family, and he was forced to keep his true motives a secret. His father named him the successor. And with that, the boy and the cult gained an opportunity to increase their influence ten fold. There was just one problem, the king was in perfect health, and the boy began to grow impatient.

As time went on, his impatience grew into hatred towards his father. And as that hatred festered, he decided to take action, and murder his father. But when the time came, and the boy killed his father in his room, the boy's younger sister caught eye of his actions without the boy realizing. He was confronted about his murder the next day, and was promptly exiled from the kingdom. That boy was Asfodel Zuri'el. At that time, he was known as The King Killer. But as his resentment towards Zuri'el grew, he abandoned his last name, and dedicated his life to becoming strong enough to kill anyone that stood in his way.

In the span of two hundred years, Asfodel killed over fifty Gods, with nearly all of them being from The Thirteen Kingdoms, and only ones originating from the north. He managed to mimic Solomon's light magic, and was even able to create his own spell, calling it Lightspeed, which turns the user's physical composition into light atoms, allowing them to move at the speed of light. He utilized this ability to outspeed any and every God he came up against, killing them in less than the blink of an eye. However, he never once challenged a God to an official duel, which meant he was still considered just an Emperor.

Solomon kept living in the light, trying his hardest to maintain peace within Vraldeen and The Thirteen Kingdoms.

Asfodel dedicated his life to reviving Shyzen and reclaiming his royal status in Zuri'el.

Shyzen's soul was trapped within the crystal, which gave his subconscious hundreds of years to plan the events that would occur after his revival.

The cult continued its operations in the shadows, slowly gaining influence and military power.
