"Nothing." I answered Limitless calmly, but inwardly, I knew that whatever made him stop eating to yell at me was serious.
Limitless calmed himself down then fell into silence with closed eyes.
He was likely thinking about something, so I decided to wait patiently. After a few minutes, he finally opened his mouth.
"Obviously, definitely, and absolutely that girl loves you! Listen, everything you said she did means nothing other than she trusts and genuinely loves you. You are really naive if you didn't get all those hints until this moment."
I scratched my neck, feeling some embarrassment.
I always hated when the "naive" protagonists of novels didn't get the hints until very late in the story. A few times, I was so frustrated that I gave negative reviews for that.
But did I just become the very thing I hated the most?
I felt… shame. That wasn't a good feeling at all.
